    @@jansmitowiczauthor78 The raptors were the No.1 seed in the east that time. I remember former raptors player Valanciunas saying "We lost but it wasn't anything of the basketball stuff". What he meant was that Bron owned that raptors team mentally because they could've won if they actually pick up their slack since on paper, they were the better team than the cavs but none of them were better than Bron...Can you imagine beating a team mentally? Only true legends with killer mentally can do that like Jordan, Kobe and Bird. The 2018 raptors mentally boomed against Bron and got swept soundly especially losing both home games plus losing in game 3 from a dagger running bank shot from Bron which took their lives and souls. They were already traumatized for losing against Bron for 2 straight playoffs back in 2016 and 2017. 2018 Bron was a different beast. The 2nd stint with the Cavs was hands down the best version Lebron. In addition to dragging this team to the finals on his own he was also still in his physical prime (completely taking over games at will) AND he was the smartest man on the court, using his IQ to slice up team’s defenses with ease. It was truly a marvel to witness.

  • @shanefogarty9485
    @shanefogarty9485 Жыл бұрын

    Lebron played a damn near perfect game in game 1 of the finals and basically single handedly put his team in a position to win. He showed that it was POSSIBLE to beat the warriors if he played absolutely perfectly, and JR Smith threw it all away. Lebron has us all believing, and I truly believe the cavs could’ve pulled out the championship if they closed that first game. I’ll never forgive jr smith for that one

    Absolutely. The Warriors just clawed their way back from near elimination by the Rockets and wouldn't have been in the Finals at all had the Rockets not missed, what, 27 straight 3 point shots? The Warriors had their identity shattered, meanwhile Cleveland had solidified in the playoffs. They gained more confidence and court presence with each win. LeBron was carrying, but you could see the other guys growing too. If they toppled the Warriors in game 1 it would have exacerbated those trends. The Warriors locker room would've turned toxic. The players' confidence would've continued to drop. But Cleveland would've continued to strengthen and pull together and believe that they belonged in the Finals. Very likely could've gone different.

    Jordan would not have been able to get this team past the 2nd round. 2018 Kevin Love was good, but that was it. IT, and Crowder were horrible teammates due to them hating the Cavs and ruined the locker room. Basically forced themselves to be traded a few months in and the Cavs didnt get much back except some role players in the Kyrie Deal. Rose went MIA after a few weeks and left the team. Wade forced a trade back to Miami. LeBron and Kevin got this team of Geroge Hill, Cedi Osman, Rodney Hood, Antez Zinic, Triston Thompson, JR Smith, Larry Nance JR, and young Jordan Clarkson to the finals, all for Hill and JR to blow it and ruin any chance of winning.

I remember getting ready to celebrate my birthday and that notification hit my phone and I was in shock. That 2018 Bron playoff run was insane from the awesome 7 game series against the Pacers, the LeThanos & LeBronto sweep and jokes, then the awesome 7 game series against the Celtics then we all know what happened in the Finals. I have never seen a single player dominate an entire team...hell, an ENTIRE FRANCHISE...like LeBron dominated the Raptors. You always hear talk of how players or teams were "afraid of MJ", and while I don't doubt that this was true, every single player on the Toronto Raptors was TERRIFIED of LeBron James from 2014-2018...ESPECIALLY DeRozan and Lowry. As soon as LeBron stepped foot on that court, DeRozan and Lowry BOTH just totally disappeared. And it happened year after year after year. Those Raptors teams were always predicted to dominate the "one man show" Cavs in the playoffs, and yet every year it was sweep after sweep. I am absolutely confident that we will NEVER see that kind of domination of an entire franchise by one single player ever again.
