In the spring of 2022, she moved with her partner and son from her native The Netherlands to the North of Norway. Between tall mountains, long rivers and endless forests, she quickly learned living in nature is both hard work and awe-inspiring.
For Carmijn, Red Leaf Hill is as much about sharing as it is expressing, through her own means and by seeking out collaborators who travel a similar wavelength. It is a paradise over here 💛
In awe of how strong and able you are in short time. Rehabbing my 120yo house is in fits and starts around working as nurse then becoming disabled and fighting to be able to do what is in my head without catastrophe.

The restoration is wonderful, but, even better, the views of the Northern Lights, majestic mountains, and noble reindeer were extremely moving.

After a year of living in artic circle, how do you like it. Did you have the skills to do this type of renovation or learn as you went along. A lot of hard work went into what has been accomplished. Hope you will be happy there.

Thank you so much for your comment 🤗 my partner have experience with renovating before, but not in Norway. It takes longer time because everything is new what we are doing and also in combination with the kids. It’s not always easy but we take it how it comes step by step. All the beauty around us makes it all worth it 🙏 hello from all of us 🇳🇴
hello, my husband and children also left the city for the countryside and are enjoying a quiet life. Please tell me, how often do you have to paint your house to keep the facades clean? My husband and I are also planning on painting the house while we are thinking and contemplating. But here in Russia, unfortunately, houses are protected mainly with plastic, which is very burdensome for us. We want to use painted wood, we are interested in how quickly the paint will peel off due to weather conditions. Thank you in advance and good luck to you and your friendly family

Red is such an obnoxious color. Too bad almost all home here are painted with this ghastly color.
