Time Travelling Along Allerton Road, Liverpool - Google Street View 15 Years Ago 2023 Back To 2008 -
video number 5 in this series takes us along Allerton road taking in sights like the fire station mentioned in the Beatles song penny lane and also the bus shelter where that said song was wrote.
you can go back to 2008 in most places on google street view pity we couldn't go back further.

Studied at Liverpool Uni. 1997 - 2001. Would walk down to the Allerton Tesco from Carnatic site for shopping. Loved my time @ Liverpool University.
Its amazing how much things change without us realising until we look back. Great video 🖒

Wow this was a blast from the past, your commentary made me laugh, United colours of netto 😂I thought I was the bee's knees in my Benetton trackie while everyone else was wearing shell suits 😂I've been in that fire station while it was a working station 👍+ the old cinema I use to take my children there + my cousin was the manager in that Ethel Austin's 😂the good old days when we could get a bargain, I lived in this area for 25yrs ❤loved this vid, 😂help the aged don't just put them in a nursing home 😂👍
Another good one mate. St Barnabas church on Penny Lane is where Paul`s Brother Mike got married in 1981. In that photo shot, you can just see the corner of Dovedale Towers, which also had another soon to be famous musician as a resident. Freddie Mercury used to live there when he was in a Liverpool Band called The Ibex. That was in 1969, Queen were formed in 1970 and the rest as they say, Is history.
😂Where the Sarg Peppers is was amain Tram/ Bus Terminal , further up is Prince Alfred Road, that was where the main transport department attached to the terminal .

Used to work all around there in the 80's & 90's. La Bussola which Paolo had. The Yates' used to be a Tesco. The gym was a Cinema, Pod bar used to be Cheveux hairdressers, Sure the Barclays used to be a Nissan/Datsun Dealership? Home Bargain used to be Hargreaves with Vernon & Johnson dance school above, old Woolworths where the Tesco is with a Hagenbach cake shop next to it .
Couldn't get my bearings there kidder it used to be my neck of the woods went to the 1st RCT army cadets by the fire station.
Paul McCartney's dad, Jim was a retained fire fighter at Allerton Fire Station.
What do you mean by "Capital of culture, all that bollocks"....because that was the making of present day Liverpool......I had to stop watching this vid ...as it was giving me a migraine with all the Flittin' about!...
