isn't it crazy that when people are 'forced' into a state of constant anxiety and fear, time tends to run quickly and days blend together? However, when people are left to themselves, days can stretch on in their minds? Thoreau wrote about this phenomenon in 'Walden', where - when man is left to his own efforts and desires in nature, a day can seem both expanded and effortless. A paraphrase from him was "how small people in crowded places, absent from nature, scurry about complaining they "don't have enough time'...when it is really their fear, anxiety, and misery that is robbing them of the effort and power of the present moment." GREAT video.

This video hit really deep for me. When you were talking about wanting to fill out days entirely and not appreciating silence, I looked at how I always filled my time with sounds; either podcasts, audiobooks, KZread videos, or music. What's more, I always listen to things at 2x speed... Thank you for the reminder to just be still and silent sometimes, enjoy your break!

One thing that I noticed after cutting down screen time is that I worked so freaking hard to build up my business that I haven't had any hobbies - next to KZread- left. 😆😅 Emigrating to an different continent down sized my social life drastically as well. It's time to do something meaning full after work.

Let’s look at this mathematically. When you are younger, a single day is a larger percentage of your life. When you are older, that single day is much, much smaller. You have a lot more frame of reference within which to see it. I agree that breaking routine, being intentional and varying your experiences can help shake this feeling, but the meditation and focus on the now is the greatest tip. By focusing on ‘now’, you train yourself to move away from that larger frame of reference you have acquired over time, and instead look towards each day with the same focus you did as a younger person,

I feel like I really needed to see and hear this video and the concept. I've been feeling pretty stuck inside a routine, beyond the pandemic situation I've been in a constant race. I wake up, put myself pretty, walk my dog, breakfast, work, lunch, work, walk my dog, exercise, dinner, shower, sleep.... listening to music, podcasts or even series in between. When I try to change the pattern I feel like something else becomes caos. For example, if I choose to read a book after dinner then I shower and sleep late and that means I wake up late... It is sooo frustating. I have lost the hability to enjoy new things and not just because of what I already said, but also because I have this thought of making a routine of it. I'm going to take this concept and put it in practice right away before the year ends. Thank you for this. Hope you have a good time to take this break too.

I agree that doing things, such as more memorable or meaningful things, make time slow down because we remember it more. There have been periods in my life where I tried to slow down by not doing these things, and when I tried to recall that period of time, it seemed fast, and blank.

I’m taking a little break from work over the holidays. I have a book on my shelf called “Time Warped” by Claudia Hammond that I want to read. It’s all about how time slows down and speeds up in our minds and memories. How a vacation can fly by in the moment but feel like it took such a lot of time when we look back. This would be a perfect time to read it!

I loved this video and your other videos too. Your visual representations are so smart and aesthethic. In this video i liked especially the clock at 8:35 where you say about being present in the moment and appreciating the now, and the numbers start appearing on the clock. Let go of need for more time, you start living in abundance of all that is. When you are in the now there is no exact time for it, as life is happening in continuum.
