Going slow almost feels like a sin. I had a very stressful and fast-paced job that took up almost all of my time. I didn't know how to wind down when it was time to relax. It got so bad for me that I was watching every KZread video at 2x the speed haha. I found that playing instruments slowed me down. Having to purposefully hold a fret on guitar or ukelele or pressing the correct key on piano made me consider my next move carefully.

This is me right now. I can so relate.
2:36 *1. Learn to say no* 3:47 *2. Turn off devices intentionally* 4:52 *3. Go slow and take time with everyday actions* 6:19 *4. Make no plans and set no expectations* 7:19 *5. Try making and creating* Great video, Christine! I've recently decided to adopt the slow living lifestyle, and what you share is very helpful. I have a tendency to want to push the limit, be efficient, speed things up. But I'm now experimenting with doing the opposite: do less, do it more slowly, but do it well. One thing I find that really helps me slow down is to turn off my phone at night and listen to a good podcast (which I downloaded before turning off my phone). It's a great way to unwind, I can even lie down and close my eyes. I do not allow myself to listen to any business-related podcast. Only storytelling, investigative journalism, or a podcast about meditation. So far, I'm really enjoying being slow! Thanks for the inspiration. 🙏🏻
If you come to Indonesia especially to Center of Java, the people are so calm and speak so soft and slowly. Sometime you will get surprise when you get there because time moves slow too hahaha... People from the big city in Indonesia come to Center of Java to enjoy the culture and living in there. You must try 😃

It seems the Asians in the Far East have made real strides in slow living. Might be due to their rice growing culture and languages, which require a lot of energy and discipline to learn.

Aw thanks so much Audrey! Glad to have you here (:
Been contemplating life recently and how I seem to be in a constant state of go here and do this. Now however I’m going to take time to just unwind and be present. Thank you for this informative and inspiring video.

Of course! So glad you found it helpful during this time (:
I’ve always leaned towards a slower living lifestyle: I walk slowly, eat slowly, shower slowly...I try to do my job slowly but it’s corporate and it’s always GO GO GO. I feel like i’m in a constant competition and trying to force something that isn’t me. I’m starting to feel like it’s not me that has the issue-it’s society.

I am writing you in response to your thoughtful comment about living slow. In my opinion, you are right that it is society that has the issue of going slow and not accept the gift of savoring life's joyous and unexpected moments. I certainly am hoping you had success in going slower in the corporate world and experienced the unexpected joys in life. Best wishes
this videos makes me feel so much better about not stressing myself out in order to feel productive and sucessful
I really appreciate your enthusiasm and positive voice, some KZreadrs who live similar "slow" lives talk in an "aesthetic", soft, and low voice. I feel as though when I am watching videos like that, that Im separate from them because that's not how my inner dialogue sounds nor is it realistic to how people talk. Your energized voice makes this whole slow living thing seem a lot more possible for the average person if that makes sense

I agree completely!! Before starting my channel I was worried I wouldn't fit into the "Aesthetic" of minimalism and slow living because I'm enthusiastic so when I saw your comment, it gave me hope!! thank you for your thoughts!! xx

that is a good way to put it!
this video started playing after I watched a video of someone I am subscribed to. At first I was like, "Why is this playing? I did not click on this?" I watched anyway and feel in love. This tranquility is what I have been missing in my life! It was so calming to let this play while I worked, I instantly felt calmer. I am now subscribed and hope to gain much knowledge. Thank you!

RIGHT. The same has happened to me.
Before slow living was a thing, I thought I was just weird. Especially when I was a teen. Nowdays I actively seek ways to slow down every day and enjoy my time on earth. I even film slow living vlogs now. The most important thing is to have the intention to slow down. Everything else will come. Just don't expect change to come overnight. Take your time and adapt to a new lifestyle and see what works for you or not. Take care everyone ❤️ great video!
Appreciated listening to this Christine. The art of saying 'No', is very important for those pushy type of people. Peace reigns supreme. All the best.

It's not particularly slow, everything is just too sped up😅
I'm personally more productive when I go at a slower pace because I need time to think things through. Most of my productivity systems are there to get the best out of myself and increase focus, rather than to churn out work as quickly as possible
Much needed tips and reminder, Christine! Thank you 😊 Btw, on the technical side note: I love how clear sounding all your voice over are! Video quality, impeccable as always 😊👌

Thank you for this video, Christine! It’s just what I needed to hear after living so fast-paced all these years. Most of the time I eat fast, try to finish working, and do other tasks so quickly that I forget to do the essential things and spend more time with my loved ones. I’ll definitely follow your tips on slowing down.
Bowing down to say thank you for God’s provision 💕 God bless you.
This video is great, but I had to watch it at 2x speed, so I guess it's too late for me 😂

Love this video and keep inspiring! I've started down the path of slow living and it has transformed my life
It really feels like I need to re-learn a lot about myself and life... Slow living makes so much sense for my personal happiness!🥺
When I have my own place this is how I want to live! I'm trying my best to live this way now and to slowly integrate it into my life! Definitely hard when your a college student but it will be worth it! Thanks for the knowledge that was shared in this amazing video!
Lovely videos this could be my future life and I'm starting now!!!
Thank you for this video it's so beautiful♥
This video is so powerful. God is definitely using you to minister and to confirm with words, videos and honesty
This is such a beautiful message and video. Thank you
Having a motorcycle is one of the best things to act out slow living believe it or not. I like to take the longer curvy roads rather than flooring it on the highway. People completely undervalue the journey from point A to point B. They need constant stimulation with loud music, speeding, or podcasts. Hell, people can’t even walk their dog without talking on the phone or listen to music. Crazy world.
Christine, you seemed like read my mind beyond these video ☺
Very peaceful and love the Calmness of your video.
this is rare, im usually very anxious watching videos on youtube, i always try to skip parts, but your videos are different, i could be hearing you speaking all day hah, nice video btw
I love this video. Tip#3 sounds so simple, yet this is very hard for me. But yes, I will take your advice - this is not overnight. It is part of the process. Thank you for this video!
I needed this. Thank you.
omg you’re almost at 100k! congrats in advance 😄!

When my Keurig broke I replaced it but that one wasn’t working probably and had to return it. It taught me to make coffee using a single cup French press which already had! It so much smaller and slower I’m enjoying the change 😁
This video made my mind sielent. Thank you extremely!

I've been beginning a minimalist journey this year, and this video was enjoyable and brought to mind 'mindfulness' which is the opposite of multitasking. Thanks. Do you earn money from the ads? Or only if if click on them? I'm all for people earning a living from sharing how they live when it resonates with my own journey so much. Thanks Christine!
Thank you for an amazing video, Christine! As a college student in a pretty competitive environment in nyc, I find it incredibly hard to practice slow living. I'll try my best to use the tips from your video today! Sending much love :)

lol we have the same fountain pen--I've had my mine for over 5 years :O--it's so green and less wasteful I don't know why more people use one. All you gotta do you is buy ink that comes in a glass bottle !!

@em ! that's a Lamy Safari ! You buy it and you can fill it with ink cartridges...but if you want to use bottled ink (much better, less wasteful), you will need a Lamy converter !

I just found your channel and I am so glad ! Very peaceful ! Your dog is so so cute !! what breed is he (or she) ? :) So lovely ! I will now watch your other videos :) Thank you !
I’ve tried to watch a few videos about slow living lately and most are too difficult to watch. The creators of the other ones seem to be attempting to slow their speaking down and perhaps trying to use a peaceful voice, but by doing that they lose all the inflection in their voice and turn into a boringly slow monotone. You kept your voice interesting yet calm, so well done! I’m off to check out your other vids now 😁

Ah thanks so much Monique! (:
the background music sounds like the intro to your song about minimalism sing it!
Curious... the way you hold your pen when writing, is that your personal thing or is it how you were taught to do it, please?
