Timbertech Installation Mistakes

I haven't posted anything in a while and I am still working on my video editing techniques, so try to ignore if I repeat myself in these videos.

Very helpful, thank you for honesty. You helped me so much! Your video is way better because it is way more realistic than other deck videos.

Timbertech's composite boards -- like Legacy -- need pre-drilling. Their AZEK PVC boards do not. (I would recommend everyone read the company's installation instructions for your specific line. There are lots of important details, such as this one. Reading them will save you time and money.)

Well sir FYI, I read all of the information I could find on the installtion process for my type of Timbertech boards. These boards are part of Timbertech's line up before they were bought out by Azek. I was not using Timberteck PVC Azek boards, they were Timbertech composite which is a different material than Azek PVC and does work the same Azek PVC boards when drilling using the cortex plugs. I have installed Azek decking prior to this using the cortex plugs without pre-drilling and never had a problem.. Thank you for your comment.

@@karlshomeremodeling123, fair enough. I only bring it up because read Timbertech's installation PDF two days ago, and they clearly state that composite boards need to be predrilled, but PVC did not. I hope I did not offend; I was just trying to be helpful, as you are.

It is a product called G Tape. It comes in different widths. There are a couple of places online to buy it. It is great stuff.

I guess we all have similar feelings in this construction, remodeling business. Of course my wife never really grasps this concept.
