To limit yourself to just a beat was minimal in 90s and early 00 you had to have some bars or the song didn't last now if have a nice beat and say anything and it sells because it's controlled the standard isn't in the words anymore because they want us to stay sleep that's y they killed any conscious rapper like pac biggy nipp etc

@@demetriustalton7394 correlation isn’t causation bro I agree lyrics aren’t important anymore, unfortunately. But I don’t think it was necessarily intentional, especially in the modern era with SoundCloud popping off. I think conscious rap scares people, most people don’t want to think. They wanna feel…Feel gangster, feel hard, feel sex, feel luxury. It’s a good feeling ngl. But imo we sorta did it to ourselves And to be completely honest, since Eminem we have been arguing lyrics are corny.

It's more convenient and easier but you lose a little something in the process. There's only so much you can do with the clicking..that's why all the beats sound the same. I miss the creativity and range in music with musicians. I get it though. The way we feel about this generation is the way Jazz felt about R&B and R&B felt about rap and hip hop and so on.

There's a difference between being a beat maker and a producer. About 98 percent of dudes out right now are beat makers. Aint nothing wrong with it, but they download FL or some program and just simply make a cool sounding beat. A producer is someone who can arrange an entire song. So I either pay someone to make me a beat or get a variety of different people do the drums, bass, sample, etc and then I arrange how the verses play out, the hood, how the beat drops, etc. This is why many people don't respect the dudes called producers today.

Glad Timbo told the truth because he did say the new producers aren't making real music.

The difference between now and then is that you can email and display your music online o and you can travel anywhere with your “gear”. Back then you had to physically give someone your beat tape and let’s not forget how slow computers where back then lol we have it too good these days god bless us!
