    Why was a man on bad terms with Aaliyah? Aaliyah was groomed to lie yet that wasn’t a habitual liar so .. what legendary status can timbo get that is substantial for 2022? He produced missy who still has answers to give so… who are y’all capping off as legends that are sitting on some of the greatest information of all futures? Look …they can’t even be honest so how are he to be a legend that won’t work with artist any better than his ranking? As in… he won’t get to level up with conscious artist by secret he keep. He will never heal is what I say so… he can be your stagnant legend yet music isn’t stagnant so

    Producers from his era didn’t need tags because they all had unique sounds. Today everyone sounds like each other so a tag is necessary.

  • @matt-lv7jl

    @matt-lv7jl

    tags are ridiculous nowadays, some producers even pay for people to make their tags or ask their friend to say something and make it a tag. Tags like Metro's make a lot of sense, he took a catchy line from a hit song of his and made it into a tag, I don't get people and their tags nowadays paying for them, go and do a collab project with an artist and get him to say something with your name and if it'll turn out to be a hit song, use that for a tag, otherwise don't bother paying for a random tag

    Man, thank you to @ProducerGrind for having Timbo on the show. I have been a long time fan and grew up in the generation he debut in, and even I didn't know about his servere injury from an attack. We almost never HAD a Timbo!! He could charge 300-500k a beat because that song would end up in the top 10. Like literally Grammy winning beats. Producers now don’t have that type of talent to make a beat that would guarantee you a top 10 spot. That’s when you’re a super producer. Timbaland is a super producer.

    I still think a super producer exists but…you can’t be stuck in 1 genre the Tim’s,Missy’s, the Neptunes and trackmasters were the super producers and they did hiphop and R&B right? Well now if you wanna achieve a 1/3 you (I mean in general) he or her has to be able to different genres to calm themselves a “super producer”

  • @jae6220

    @jae6220

    Жыл бұрын

    @@3rdARKnight the era of super producers ended with Timbaland,the Neptunes and Kanye. Those dudes could take an unknown artist and make them super stars. There hasn’t been any one like that because the game changed from producers to beat makers. Dudes don’t take artist from scratch and mold them into stardom. That’s Rick rubin, teddy riley, Quincey jones, baby face, Prince etc those type of producers. Now people just fish around beats and leave the artist to create themselves.

    I agree, the limitations back then pushed the producer to go deeper. Now days we’re given everything, drums, samples, plug ins etc. it’s unlimited. In other words, less is more.

    I like what he is doing for the community. I agree that the community just feels like it's imploding with people selling beats for $1 and all the stealing and crazy stuff. Having a place to go that has structure is cool. Something better than beat stars that you get the feedback that you really need to be successful. I don't think AI can replace humans... it's a tool. I think in some instances that it may make sense for someone to use the music that it creates. I would just worry about being creative like Tim is always advocating. He has the right mindset about music and is why he is so successful. I am focusing on being better period and finding my style. I think it's important part of being a producer, being able to reinvent yourself all the time. It's the one thing that really shows your devotion to the craft.

    Love the VA love. I'm from way far away from the 757 and the 804 up top in the 703/571 area but Tim has always been an inspiration and I do the same as far as trying to extract every bit of a sample in one track or make multiples beats out of it.
