Tim Wright Fine Violins: Three Alexander Youngson violas

Today we compare three Scottish violas by the Glasgow maker Alexander Youngson. The three span a 15 year period and are each a different model: which is your favourite?
🎻The first viola was made in 1960 and is built on a fairly personal model. This instrument has a beautiful one piece back and an attractive amber-yellow varnish.
🎻The second viola was made in 1974 and is inspired by the work of the early Brescian maker Gasparo da Salo. This instrument also has a one piece back with lovely figuration.
🎻The final instrument was made in 1975 and is labelled 'The Isabelle II'. It is a Tertis model viola and also has a pretty one piece back.
