Today we compare three Scottish violins by Joseph Ian Ross, a phenomenally talented luthier who worked in Pitlochry. The violins are part of a much larger collection of Ian's instruments: we recently exhibited the first 10 violins, violas and cellos from this large collection.
The violins in this video are 2001 and 2008 Carlo Bergonzi models and a 2010 violin which is a copy of the 'Plowden' del Gesù. You can read much more about Ian and his instruments on our website.
