I know, it’s unfortunate Hasan isn’t aware of who AJW is. I know I’m going to sound like debate lord, but sometimes debates online aren’t useless, I’ve seen him in debate circles and he straight up dog whistles intentionally or unintentionally all the time. He likes to act professional and scientific but he’s a complete weirdo. He literally defended the 90s Broken Window policing strategy in NYC, which is why he was so excited when Emma brought up crime. I don’t know him enough to say he is a Nazi, but a lot of stuff he says is Nazi adjacent and he agreed to debate on the same side as a race realist so I mean there’s pretty fucked up. I think he cherry picked a bunch of data because he doesn’t think poverty causes crime because he probably believes the classic “fatherlessness and culture” bs. He basically thinks Black Americans are more prone to crime. Which is completely ridiculous if you have any academic knowledge whatsoever. But if he admitted poverty and crime were correlated his whole belief system would unravel. I mean his name is “Actual” justice warrior he perpetually stuck in gamergate era politics

The term comes from Gaslight (1944) a movie where the technique is used by the characters. *Gaslighting is sometimes also called “crazy making”.* *In the context of child sexual abuse (CSA) the **_gaslighting_** is often used to convince the victim all the abusive behaviours are fine, normal and an expression of “love”. It is used to ensure the victim doesn’t speak out about it and doesn’t fight back. It can also be used in concert with other **_grooming_** tactics like fear and isolation.* *Trivializing: The victim’s feels are made to feel like they don’t matter, are **_unfounded_** or they are weak for thinking so.* *Countering: This is quintessential gaslighting. * They _directly counter the memories and perceptions of the victim._ *Repetitive Questions: The abusive partner makes the victim doubt what they think or feel by asking the same question multiple times.* Questions are asked so many times the victim doubts their own answers. *Diverting: The abuser diverts the subject and puts the blame into outside circumstances.* What Others Say: The abuser tells the victim what other people think about the victim, the abuser and/or the situation on whole. First, it would appear that the uptick in violent crime levels in 2020 are roughly equivalent to what they were during the great depression in the 1930s. This bolster Emma's point about poverty and crime being related. Second, they are arguing the numbers in the 90s without the context of the time. As someone who was born in 1972 and watched the 90's unfold as an adult, I can give some perspective. The minimum wage was raised three times during the 90's and the economy grew so long without a crash they called it "the new economy". The 90's were a time of economic prosperity for everyone, not just the rich, so it bolsters Emma's point. As for the 60's and 70's with a huge spike, this was a time when integration and civil rights activity was rising and many racists were doing lynchings which contributed greatly to the violent crime rates, along with the minority militia groups that formed to protect themselves since the police weren't doing it. I suppose you could make the argument that a lynching is not financially motivated, but if you leave out that context and just point to raw crime numbers you're being misleading. By the time the 90's rolled around, you had an entire generation that grew up integrated and people became a lot more chill and less territorial. The 90's was well known for being PC, becoming accepting of gays, accepting interracial couples as normal, very liberal. The internet was born which jumpstarted a new economic revolution that regular people could get in on without being gatekept by institutional wealth, but social media didn't exist yet so our brains had not been rotted. And on top of that we got rid of lead in gas and paint. There are several; contributing factors to the violent crime rates dropping in the 90s.

I've already said this in the Serfs' comments and Rational National's about him coping to "playing low quality audio" while making fun of his band. Some of my favorite albums have spotty to absolute dogshit production. Over distorted guitars, bass that drowns out the band, vocals clipping the mic, instruments that sound like they're scraped against washboards, and with equipment that is so lo-fi, you'd think they recorded it in one guy's garage (and many times, they did). And those are some of my favorite records. The quality of the audio isn't the issue, Tim.

Makes no mention of the fact violent crime has nothing to do with poverty, when over 85% of assault and murder don't involve robbery Also that "$1000" nonsense (though it's sometimes $500, or $800) is based on surveys of people opinions, not that they couldn't get $1000 if they really had to, just that they would prefer not. Everytime Hasan said “Emma should respond like this” she did. It’s 10x harder in person, so that just shows how incredible this performance was by Emma. I will say this about Tim, the degree to which he argues in good faith (my not be the right term) is orders of magnitudes greater than other people do. I think, unlike a lot of conservative pundits, Tim wants to “win” according to everyone verse anyone, which means he’ll actually contend with the argument. Versus the usual delusional right wing commentators (for example, if Shapiro and Crowder were more like Tim, they wouldn’t primarily be debating college students for KZread clicks). The Shapiro’s and Crowder’s would scoff at Emma’s points and stats, and simply claim “you’re point has nothing to do with the issue.” Like the lead thing. But, and some credit to Tim, he says “yeah I read that and it was fascinating.” That’s already a much better place to begin. Not scoffing. Not denying, rejecting, ignoring every single point. It becomes about you proving them wrong, but they just have to scoff at you.

@@WapitalismandWreedom what do you mean “the argument” poverty causing crime is a widely studied and agreed upon fact. There’s not much of an argument against that other than, nuh uh, it’s the other way around. Pretty sure I fully understood the “counter” not argument. Dude didn’t even “argue” or have an argument. He literally said, it’s the other way around, and failed to explain how, went on to his opinion of he thinks justice should act or be. And obviously crime and poverty become cyclical, that doesn’t remove the root of the problem which is poverty causing the first “shop lift”. Do you think people are just stealing for funzies and that causes the neighbourhoods to “decay” thus causing poverty? Or that poverty causes both the decay and crime initially? Also, retell “the argument” if you know it and I don’t. It’s pretty vague to just claim my knowledge of something with out explaining where you think I went wrong. I doubt you’d like vague comments. My comment is obviously a parody on dudes “counter”. What ever attempt at evidence he provided failed and they agreed the problems of crime and poverty become a cycle with both causing both to happen simultaneously. Remember how they agreed on that and reviewed the study of lead causing crimes too? Gee, I wonder what communities suffered the most lead exposure. I think we can both agree that poverty is sort of baked into our system and some communities in the us have been deliberately neglected and kept in poverty over decades to where it’s all but impossible for the communities to “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” with out the nation’s government assisting them. These communities that experience the most poverty are mostly black and brown communities that’s not because the people are black and brown it’s because of systemic and systematic racism keeping it that way. The fact that there are still different communities based on color is a result of racism. Sucks we don’t just have “communities” over the few centuries we’ve been a nation. No, we need a “China town” and “black community”. I used to always wonder why that was, I’m willing to bet it was discrimination laws that sort of forced people to form their own communities and we haven’t really broken the needless trend.

@@emmy8526when Lando Canadian (aka Lance from de Serfs) attended a very special episode of Timmy Hottubs' Fash Fun Club recently, there was rarely a moment where two or more Americans weren't shouting over the dude They said "let's just blanket the Canadian dude with stupid mouth noises" and it made Lance look "clueless" to Tim's audience. Then again, That's never been an audience capable of interpreting data or stimuli of any sort 😂

So you think it’s appropriate for children to have books that instruct then how to get hook ups on grinder? You need to evaluate yourself, because if you don’t think there’s a problem with that, you are the problem. And if society wasn’t on these people’s side, you would get dealt with accordingly.

They're Jesuits using Psychological warfare, mainly Gaslighting aka Grooming *Gaslighting is a psychological term used to describe* the process of *grooming* someone into believing that they are losing it or going crazy. *Gaslighting a child is perhaps the most egregious form of child abuse.* Gaslighting is a common form of emotional/psychological abuse and can be used as a tactic in *grooming* children for abuse. Literally what they're doing
