This song hits me hard. Hours After i delivered my last child by C-section, I started hemorrhaging, blood pressure dropped 60/30 and ended having to have 3 bags of blood. My mom who’s a nurse could only hold my hand and cry as I screamed mommy make them as they tried to stop the bleeding. My poor husband set just on the other side of the curtain holding our newborn son crying and praying. The lord answered bc 3 yrs later I am still here. Your reaction videos are amazing keep making them and good luck on your country journey. Country music is about a way of life

I've loved this song since it first came out & NEVER saw the video until today! Made me so happy to see her running with the picnic basket at the end! All these years I thought she probably died.
This song gets me every time. I'll be 60 on Friday, and still get tears in my eyes for this song. Probably my favorite Tim McGraw song.

I cried over this song in 1994 for months until someone showed me the video and I saw she LIVED. Yay!
That last verse applied to me in April, 2021. My girlfriend of 23 years, suffered a cardiac arrest, was revived and passed 6 days later. I begged and bartered with God for a different outcome. My heart broke when she passed. The only good thing was that I was glad that I hadn't left her alone.

She didn't die. She was running to them with the picnic basket at the end.
One song that really takes me back to 18. I’m 52 now. It was and is a great song and time!
This song is the poster child for unconditional love.
At the end, you missed that it was Johnny Jr and the woman running with the picnic basket was his mother, she lived.
I am in a different boat than 99% of the folks here. We have a 35-year-old disabled son and I need him to go first so I can assure that god has him. If I go first then he has to survive in this world and will not make it a day

My son is a 40 Yr old disabled man. I know how you feel. I have been a single mom for many years now, and I pray God will help us parents -of disabled adult children-make it possible for our sons and daughters to continue on this earth, should it be God’s will and purpose.

We're in the boat with you, our son is 30 and autistic, has mild brain damage and ADHD, he depends on us for everything, he went all through school, graduated but he can't read or write. Age wise he's 30 mentally he's between 6 and 7. My husband and I are both 65, after we're gone, he goes to my husband's youngest brother and his wife, his wife is a counselor for those like our son and they get along great if something happens to my brother-in-law, he goes to his youngest sister. Our son is the youngest, he has 3 older sisters.

My husband and I are 43 and 44. Our disabled daughter (out of 4 kids) turned 24 today. I get it.
This was a pretty early Tim McGraw song. I think it came out somewhere around 1993. Tim was one of the greats that came out somewhere around 1990. My favorite song by him has always been "Live like you were dying". Which is about his dad Tug McGraw who happened to be a MLB pitcher.
I absolutely love how you make it so obvious how much you love your wife!!! So beautiful a thing, especially during these days!! I wish you and your wife a live of happiness and love!!
Had 3 sons. The middle son named after me. Was my carbon copy. He played minor league baseball. Great kid. Funny. Full of life. He came in with that Tim McGraw CD. Ask my wife to listen to this song. Don't take girl. My wife started crying. He yelled Dad ma s crying as he laughed. Well at 23yrs old he died in a rollover car accident in St.Louis. 1 week from going to pitch with Reds winter ball. Google Dennis McRoberts. October 8th 2004. Still cry every time this song comes on. Thanks brother
This song always makes me cry to see the power of love. Happily at the end you see “the girl “ running towards Johnny and son with a picnic basket
I'm 68 and as soon as the music started, so did the tears. I know the song well and it always affects me, but knowing what you were about to hear, it seemed to affect me more. Great job young man. I really enjoy your reactions, alone and with your beautiful wife.

@@traviswissman5633 It’s not because we think she died, it’s the love you have for someone that could be taken away from you at any moment, or for one that has been taken away from you. At least that’s my reasons.

Ditto!
I've listened to this song hundreds of times, and it gets me everytime
Tim's first hit record was Indian Outlaw. At the end of the song, he used the chorus of a hit Pop song, from the 70s, about the plight of the American Indian (Specifically the Cherokee Indian). Tim's mother was a Cherokee. The song from the 70s was called Indian Reservation by The Raiders. Also, Tim's Dad was Tug McGraw, a former MLB pitcher that was on 2 World Series Championship teams. He had a very long, and successful career.
FYI I know everyone thinks so, but the girl did not pass away. lol. If you see at the end she is running when they are at the picnic. everyone always thinks she passed away.

I'm in tears! I have been ever since Lisa Marie Presley died & knowing she lost her son to suicide & thinking about all the Presley family is going through. Now after watching your reaction to this video by Tim McGraw #DontTakeTheGirl has got me all emotional again. I can see how lucky your wife & girls are to have a good husband & father like you & what a good person you truly are. I have enjoyed watching you & your beautiful wife react to some of my favorite country music videos. God bless you & your family!
My sixth Grandchild was born yesterday on my late Father's 83rd birthday! He passed less than a year ago. They gave him my fathers name Alan!
A lovely song by tim and his wife faith hill is “speak to a girl”. A true lesson on how a true lady likes to be spoken to and treated🌹

Yes how a lady and 3 daughters deserve to be talked to,,respect or to hear their dad talk to their mother! They will want to seek a boyfriend or husband that treats them like dad does mom
The way you reacted to the song is how we all reacted to it on the radio back when it was new. The video was the first time we had any clue that she survived.
If you look at the end of the video they're all three running and playing TOGETHER I understand people could read it differently but I choose to believe that just like in the two earlier occasions everything turned out great
Try "Indian Outlaw" for one that won't make you cry, but it might make you dance. 😉

I live the sample from Indian Reservation by Paul Revere And The Raiders in that song! Always been my favorite part.
I have have heard this song probably a thousand times, and I still cry every single time!😭❤️
I was a teenager in the 90s when Tim hit the scene and this song broke me every time. There is so much of his music that will break your heart but lift you up.
A love song for the ages. - The video shows us she lived and they have another one (she's carrying the little one in the car seat), but the song itself leaves it to the imagination. I'll always love this song.
Red Sovine -Giddy Up Go. Also Roses for Momma by same artist. Glad when men don't feel the need to mask emotion. Good for mental health.
I've seen this video many times.. but your reaction to it made me cry
I'm 54 and it's not just "don't blink" but full your life with joy, good memories for yourself and family I wish I had more memories of joyous events with laughter and fun, unfortunately I'm stuck with all the horrible events, pain, loss, you do not know what tomorrow holds I had a stroke one day unexpectedly and have some memory loss
No matter how many years between hearing this song, I still tear up at the first verse knowing what’s coming.
This was one of the songs my dad sang to me as a kid. I still cry over it in my 30s.
Great Reaction !! Always a joy to watch someone begin to explore Country. For me, it's been a 50 year ride, I'm 59 ! You have made the connection, Country is pen to paper, mixed with notes and melody, expressed in voice to tell about Life ! It's honest, holds integrity, expressing joy and pain, failures and victories ! The artist and listener understand each other almost instantaneously at times. You understand this connection now. Welcome !!
This is one of Time McGraw's best songs that has a heartwarming story to go with it.
Another Tim must is Humble And Kind, it is something to teach the kids. The "don't take" is true love.. I lost my partner 25 years ago this month, and my heart stills loves. I was 35 then. Still hurts.
Next by him has to be If You Are Reading This!!! Another one to hit you in the feels!!!
The Mom lives. You see her briefly right at the very end. She goes fishing with them❤️ So it's happy
These song lyrics can give you goosebumps, make you cry like a baby, reminisce about the good Ole days, and hug your loved ones tighter. So let the tears roll, there's only a few thousand people watching 😢😊
Roughly 25 years later this song still brings tears to my eyes. Ive always been alone and can only imagine love that strong, always wanting to be loved myself I can't imagine having it and losing it
Have always loved this song. My last child that i gave birth to, i should not have lived. I had a brain bleed after my c-section and wake up. Had the brain surgery and made it. It hits home and feel super blssed to have lived through it.
Such a touching and heartfelt song, both lyrics and delivery. Might have been a bad choice to watch while on the road away from your family. I'm sure you'll hug em all extra tight when you get home. I love that you aren't afraid to show your emotions. Your reaction videos are simply the best. God bless
Hang in there young man!!! Some lighter side of country songs coming your way!!! You'll be smiling and laughing soon!!! Love from Texas!!!
Don't worry she survived. Can see her at end running to join them dishing
My father showed me this song a few years back and I still find myself coming back to it. ❤
I started getting chills... then you said "I'm getting chills!" Dude, it's my... probably millionth time hearing it and I still get them. Glad you got to experience this one!
I have cried every time I hear this song from the first time I heard when I was in in high school when it came out. It’s a great song.
This is one of those songs that makes me cry. Every. Single. Time. No matter how many times I hear it, and know exactly what's coming, it still hits me hard.
This song gets me every time, and your reaction broke me into tears. She survived and was running with the basket at the end.
listen closely to third verse, "his momma is fading fast", the baby is a boy (Johnny Jr.), and fourth verse is a repeat of the first, but in this verse Johnny is now the dad and the same sweet girl is bringing the picnic basket, so it does have a happy ending.
Mid 1990s Tim McGraw. I was in high school when this came out. Good stuff!

The BEST song stories that grab and move people are country music songs...George Jones - "He Stopped Loving Her Today", Randy Travis - "Three Wooden Crosses", Tim McGraw - "Don't Take The Girl", Brad Paisley - "He Didn't Have To Be", Craig Morgan - "Almost Home" and the list goes on and on...
This is one of my all time favorite songs
I was pregnant with our second child (first was a boy) - went to the sonogram and was told we here having a girl. I saw the look on my husband's face that he was disappointed but of course would not say it. I just laughed to myself knowing this child would have him wrapped around her finger. She is now 25 years old and a huge daddy's girl. They have such a tight bond. I love it as I was the same with my dad.
This came out when I was pregnant in 1996 and I was high risk and told I may not survive the birth. I'd you pay attention to the end of the video it's Johnny his wife and the child they had going fishing. It's his wife and child running thru the yard. As for me, I ha e an amazing 27 yr old son and I'm happy and healthy. My husband heard this song while I was pregnant and got so emotional. Praying he would ha e ME and OUR SON when we left the hospital.
This was extremely tough to get through-I’ve heard the song a million times but not for quite a while. I’ve almost died several times due to severe health issues and our son was born at 32 weeks, I thank God for my husband because he was my strength through it all
This somg gets me everytime such a beautiful song.
at the end he sings Johnny's daddy was taking him fishing at 8 years old (Johnny is the baby grown up to 8 years Old) and the very last shot is his mother catching up to them (Alive)
Every time I hear this song, I make it 2 bars in and I immediately react as if it was the first time I listened to it.
I know this song for years. Still cry.
Great reaction one of the best songs ever.
Bro, got me in tears this morning. Been binging your videos. Y'all are awesome!
Sebs...eventually you will have to fully face it 100%...you cannot get any better music for music, emotion, lyrics and a good story that paints a picture in your mind and hits you in your soul. ;)

I watched this several times before someone pointed out that she is running to join him and their son fishing at the very end of the video. It still gets me, though.
I also believe the woman running to meet them as he was now taking his son fishing, was his wife who recovered.

I have to smile at the beginning...boys don't want girls tagging along especially when fishing so that's a perfect opening. This song was out for a while before I learned it has a happy ending...the baby lived and the woman running at the end is his wife.....she survived!!! Perfect song writing!
The thing that people don't get about the ending of that video and the song is that she actually does live. That's his wife running toward them while he's taking his son fishing. But it is a beautiful song and it makes me tear up every single time

Hi Sebs I seen Tim Mcgraw live in concert Long ago. We were sitting kinda far away from the front. They turned all the lights out and it was pitch black, We couldnt see more than two feet in front of us. Then we heard Tim starting to sing and they flipped the spot light to the stage and Tim was sitting on a tall stool with a guitar . like 8 feet away , We were near the end of a long stage on the side . He must have wanted to folks in the cheap seats to be stunned. Well it worked, We said to ourselves, Is that Tim there. It was the best concert Ive been to. he played this song there, It didnt hit me at all. The video makes a big difference I think . But I seen that reaction of yours to garth brooks friends in low places. That looked like a off the charts concert for sure. So I put that on my bucket list , Angelina Jordan is my next concert I want to see, Then garth . Great reaction Buddy, God Bless .
Buddy, I’ve been listening to this since it came out around 30 years ago and still can’t get through it dry eyed. Had all of these scenarios in my life since then.
