Greece would not have succeeded getting a place in the Olympics if it were only Giannis playing well. The entire Greek team is actually playing like a proper team, and Spanoulis, their new coach, is actually using Giannis's strengths to fit in well with the rest of the team.

You have to defend at a very high level for the whole game. It's a March Madness game every game. As far as the USA they have to start young, athletic, big and strong. That's Anthony Edwards, Anthony Davis, Bam, Jrue and Jason Tatum. Bring Bron, Embed and Curry off the bench after the young boys built a lead. You have to get out faster and score easier. More pick and roll, give and go, drive and kick ball movement. Defend the perimeter which is not Steph's strong suit. The guards have to get locked up and the wings have to dominate. Good luck USA Basketball.

And more over, would NBA players get enough time to adopt to FIBA rules. Two-step in FIBA is really 2 steps, if you make standard additional NBA half-step, it is already traveling. Also 3 second rule, although it seems not important much, change complete structure of defense and ofense. The point of any athlette, not just top ones, is that you practice something so much, so when time come, you do it without thinking, he is programmed to do it without thinking, if you start think over what you are doing, you are already behind. But it is body programme, one month preparation is not enough to reprogramme algorythm you enbodied whole life. So the big problem of USA team would be traveling, you eather would play with one leg tied always counting steps you didn't use to, or you would be in danger to travel a lot. Another thing, especially important for Embiid and Davis, by FIBA rules you cannot body bump defender, it is straight ofensive faul. So in that regard, Adam is on a right track: they must play team basketball, they cannot utilize individual game so much, ebcasue individual game underestimate exactly two main problems that in FIBA-rules basketball is not allowed: "extended" two-step and body bumps. There must be more ball flaw and off-ball movement, and less "I am king Lebron, look how I can pass all of them", because he used to "pass all of them" by extendended two-step and body bumps -- and you cannot reprogramme body overnight to overcome that in the heat of the game when you don't have tiem to think. P. S. And there is the main advantage NBA internationals have. They became players with FIBA-rules embodied in their body, that is their basic setting (that is why Nikola Jokić do more swirlings and piruets arround his defenders than bodybumps, bodybump is something he started to use only when he came to NBA...), so they would thave that luxury of comfortability in play. The USA can negate that only with team game, or they would play catch and shoot at once, and one night shooting would simply betray them...

Frankly, I think the overall Team USA focus and dedication is 1) better now than it was 20 years ago and 2) way better than I figured it would be back then. No, it's not at the level of, say, how Luka and Giannis feel about Slovenia and Greece. Well, that's a REALLY high level--and very understandable. But do I think there's a paucity of GAF factor in Team USA? No--they are serious about this.

Our lead couch is older than Biden maybe but he is for German BBall D. Stern and Jerry West in one - they should make him a LOGO For France, Germany and Australia we were almost dream team everything below 20 was good for them , but our basketball is in big decline because of strategy to play G-league American players instead our young guys upgraded with max 3 foreign players like before 2012. same happened to Italy (but they have 50 mill. people- big base) unlike Serbia and Croatia..... Turkey have 60-70 millions but same they paly 5th class Americans Feel sorry for Lithuania they have less than 3 mill. people but always good in basketball (and lucky at same time because they be in or group) I constantly repeating how these analyst don't know anything about Greece(joking about Antetokounmpo brothers who are not to 30 players) their BIGS are on par with France and close to USA (without Joel let say - who'll be 3rd option KAT) , and their backcourt is class above France's

Booker is not only going to play, he's going to start. One of I believe 6 guys on the team who have played in the olympics before (KD, LeBron, Bam, Jrue, and Tatum). He doesn't excel at any one thing but he also doesn't stand out as being bad at any one thing. When you have Steph, LeBron, and KD in your starting lineup, you don't need a scorer, you need a guy who plays as a connector, can defend, and can hit an open shot. Booker showed in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 that he can be that "3&D" type roleplayer on a team with superstars, which Steve Kerr spoke on in an interview earlier this week.
