No-voiceover timestamps for each pickup voicing SCOTT 3:08 bridge voice 1 (vintage PAF) 3:37 bridge voice 2 (classic hot rod) 3:45 bridge voice 3 (slightly overwound single coil) 4:09 neck voice 1 (vintage PAF) 4:28 neck voice 2 (clear, airy chime) 4:42 neck voice 3 (vintage single coil) TIM 6:54 bridge voice 1 (hot-rodded classic) 7:28 bridge voice 2 (unique humbucker) 7:51 neck & bridge voice 3 (ideal single coil combo) 8:09 neck voice 1 (thick & smooth humbucker) 8:45 neck voice 2 (clean nylon surrogate) 8:58 neck voice 3 (fluid single coil) Quick notes for those who are still confused: on SCOTT's guitar, the voicing switch essentially toggles between 3 different pickup voicings: 2x vintage PAF humbuckers, clear chime neck + classic hot rod bridge and 2x vintage single coils. The pickup selector switch only toggles individual pickups on and off (neck only, both pickups, bridge only), for a total of 9 possible configurations. The 3 middle position voicings aren't shown in the video for the sake of brevity, but you can probably guess how they sound based on the other individual demos TIM's pickups are a bit more convoluted: the 3-way voicing switch is replaced by a 2-way knob, but the selector switch goes from a 3-way to a 5-way one, partially doubling up as a voicing switch as well. Pushing/pulling the knob while the selector switch is in the neck position toggles between neck voices 1 (thick & smooth hum) and 2 (nylon), whereas doing so while in the bridge position toggles between bridge voices 1 (hot-rodded) and 2 (unique). Middle position, knob down = voice 1 for both pickups (not shown in the video), much like on Scott's guitar. So far so good, but this is where the fun begins: since neck voice 2 is sonically incompatible with bridge voice 2 (nylon vs synthy) pulling the knob UP while in middle position triggers the 3rd voicing for both pickups (= single coil combo). The same voicing can be triggered by switching to selector position 2, regardless of the knob (and yeah, this effectively makes the 2nd position "useless", but I suppose 4-way switches aren't really a thing). Lastly, selector position 4 always defaults to neck voice 3 (= fluid single coil), bypassing the knob once again. This amounts to a total of 7 possible voicings (2 in pos 1, 3 and 5 each, 1 in pos 4, none in pos 2). In other words, there are de facto less possible combinations on Tim's guitar overall, albeit most of them are more individually unique than those on Scott's

Super helpful breakdown! This might be a dumb question, but when you say "Useless," you're just saying two different positions have basically the same sound, not that no sound comes from it right?

I have purchased the Fluence Signature Series Tim Henson Pickups, in fact, it can achieve 9 different sounds using a 3-way switch and 2 Push-Pull potentiometers, which makes it more intuitive to use and similar to other past Fishman Fluence pickup designs. The two single-coils together sound really great, and I can understand why they didn't make the bridge single-coil work alone on default 5-way switch, it sounds a bit harsh, but at least now I can choose whether or not to use it. However, I'm not quite sure why they didn't add a voice 2 for dual humbuckers. It doesn't sound bad, maybe it's because it would make the circuit too complicated or the sound would not be unique enough. By the way, the voice 2 sound is basically just brighter but loses some of its power, the official website also mentions that the peak frequency moves toward the treble.
Scott's tone is always on point, love it
tim's playing is so unique. its such a pleasure hearing him play
The Tim Henson pick ups are insane. Never seen anything like it
Never thought I'd ever hear Tim play Steve Lacy
Voice 2 of Tim's neck pick up is extremely intriguing. Great to see both get pick ups. Love Polyphia.

Good for Fishman and Ibanez to have them in their teams.
Nice informative video. No filler BS. just good info and some good footage of Tim and Scott. Its always a pleasure to hear these guys play and they have the most unique sound and playing style of any guitar players I have ever heard.
Absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on these. Well done 👏👏
This was really informative, thank you!
These seem so awesome! I love my classics in my SG Special. Would love to see one of these sets in my Strat+
Yeah talking over the playing is TOTALLY a great way to showcase your product.
I love my Stat set, along with the Moderns in my 7. These dropped right as I started looking at pups for my new Strandberg 6.. well played..
loooooooooooove my Open-Core Classics, amazing pickups and you literally get 3 pickup sets in one
Voice 2 on the neck is gonna slice through mixes, so good.
That hyper clean is mind blow
we need need need a full version of bad habit tim please read these comments
The Phrygian scale is one of my favorite... so I Love the band!
Any chance these will ocme in 7 or 8 string configuration? Tims Nylon tone on extended range would be sick!
I was so excited when I heard that Polyphia was working with Fishman! But I really wish they had the Fishman pickups covers..The pickup covers looks much more sleek and modern.

@@carlchameleon9847 They just look like every other pickup. They look the same as a $20 pickup you get from china and pretty much everything else. Fishman, Bare Knuckle and EMG are some of the few companies whose pickups actually stand out a bit. He mentioned in the demo posted by Reverb that he wanted it to look as sleek and clean as possible, but these look a lot more cluttered than the minimalist Fishman covers....so maybe it wasn't possible to have them on the open core pickups for some reason, I don't know...
That nylon voice 2 is 🤯
Man, I've been out of the music scene for so long, I didn't even know Susi was the brand manager for Fishman... lol
PLEASE for the love of everything bring back the greg koch tele battery pack. this video has solidified me on getting the scott sig AZ over Tim's. the asthetics and tones are much more up my alley
So, what's the difference between this and existing Fluence open core pickups?
Anyone know what song tim is playing at 6:48? It sounds sick
Will these pickups be available in 7 and 8 string versions too ?
Hey guys. Will these work for lefties? Like are the poles wound differently per string and would I have to turn the upside down? Cheers.
pls make signature pickups for james munky shaffer korn for modern tone do like ( dimarzio blaze 7) for paf ( dimarzio paf 7 ) withe heavy clear high end sound 🙏🏻 and send to him to try out 😅
Any chance of a 7 string variant? Would be interested in that single coil neck tone.

Likewise! A 7 or 8 string version would be great
What is that riff that played in the beginning of the video? Anyone know the name of the song?
I have a question, will these be available in F spacing at some point? 👀
At 10:00 can you fact check this? The strat battery pack holes do not align with the AZ’s holes
Is the Scott LePage custom set the same as the open core pickup set on the Charvel Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 2 24 HH 2PT?

@@Return2TheLiving actually, Ibanez stopped producing the THBB10 so it’s a moot point. You’d have to either buy that guitar model used or find a dealer with them in still stock. I know Sweetwater pulled the listing from their site months ago, shortly after the new signature guitars were announced. The new signature electric guitars will come with the sig Fluence pickups you just saw in this vid.
