I saw Tim live at Coco in Camden some time ago. Impossible to dance to because it's too fascinating watching him work. When he came out into the crowd with an old Kempston joystick from the early 90s and started manipulating the music with it... I think I just passed out. Amazing musician.

The tempo/time changes on this are just so clever and amazing. The whole thing is so fluid and slippery. Total genius.

@Digitos Crudos I just went to listen to that. I can't really hear the similarity but they seem like the sort of band that *would* be an influence on Tim Exile.

Not sure there are tempo changes? well if there are they are always some multiple of the original tempo. If you stick a click track behind this song it wont ever drift off a beat.

@@rngesus8057 There are tempo changes, 4 of them I think. In each case the kick drum switches to a different time signature (6 in the space of 4, not sure what that's called - 12/8?) and then the tempo changes to catch up with the kick drum, putting it back into 4/4 again. I'm sure you could work around it by changing the time signature to something increasingly unusual, but for any sane person trying to learn it, or teach it, you would say "There's a tempo change here, preceded by a funny syncopated bit with the kick drum"

"I'm stuck in the vast shifting space where gravity disappears. I'm orbiting some random place that I haven't seen for years. I'm darting around on a path of Brownian mystery. I can't tell what's the ground or what's the sky or what's in between! I've been away for so long that I've ended up right back home, Amongst the family galaxy of nothing that stays the same. I'm in the family galaxy and we only have one rule: Keep changing every day, don't stay the same or you'll be a fool! The family galaxy keeps changing no matter what you do. We don't know who we are, but we will always be here for you! Go nowhere, watch the world unfolding day by day, Each time in a different way. We'll swim in the sea of change- Rearrange! We don't mind where the question leads us. We know nowhere is better than everywhere. We have only one answer: We all care. Family galaxy's always there for you and me, Just like a listening tree, Come and play in the suns, They're all ours. Family galaxy wants you to come and play, and change every day Come and play in the stars, They're all ours".

IF this track was premeditated by Tim, then you can completely hear is influence from his Philosophical Degree background. There are hints of nonduality, the now, form within formlessness. If this was premeditated ...I will say this track is absolutely pure genius!!!! If not ....then its just a bunch of happy accidents??? What a F%#!ING brilliant production!!!!! Genuis in a madman sense!!!!

This is the first time I've talked to anyone who understands music as I do (not trying to be pretentious, just saying everybody listens differently). How do you feel about Yeah Ghost? I want to try it out but it seems radically different from Simple Things and When it Falls (my only two Z7 albums).
