Tim Buckley - The Man and His Music - Part 1

Музыка

Tim Buckley -- Under Review is a documentary film reviewing the music and career of one of America's most influential artists, composers and vocalists. Despite Buckley's tragic early death at the age of just 28, his legacy resonates more loudly with every new generation, and he is name-checked by artists as diverse as Radiohead, Cocteau Twins and REM. Tim Buckley is today as relevant as he ever was and his original brand of music -- incorporating folk, jazz, funk, blues and all manner of other genres -- made for as unique a style as any contemporary artist has ever accomplished. This film features musical performances by Tim Buckley, reviewed and re-assessed by a team of esteemed experts, obscure footage and rarely seen photographs of Tim, brand new and exclusive interviews with many of his closest colleagues and friends, and much more besides, painting the best available picture of this enduring legend.

The soul of Buckley lies in his music not the commentaries on him.

I have long loved Tim's music. What I'll NEVER understand though, is the need to put one artist (in this case, Dylan) down in favour of, or in comparison to another. I love Dylan too, have done for 50+ years. Personally, I have gained a great deal of pleasure from the music of both artists (and so many others) and don’t comprehend the negativity. Thanks for posting.

Quite shocking to see a highly talented musician, vocalist like Tim pass at such a young age! I saw him the year before he died but it was the wrong audience and they wouldn't let him finish his set. Black Sabbath and Yes was on the same bill so,need I say more?

The over-analysing of Tim's first album is ridiculous. He was 1p and has some gems. Also, it has the sound of 1966: thus it is bottled magic.

Buckley was more popular in England. John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) is a fan. Apparently Todd Rundgren has never heard of Buckley until Lydon clued him in.
