Ok, I finally saw this movie, To anyone who doubted Penn Badgley he was pretty fantastic in the role, I'm not kidding. Honestly, I went into the movie thinking ''he's gonna murder everything I love about JB'' but, gave a genuinely stellar performance, I was blown away. I hope he gets a least a Golden Globe nomination or something. It was very good acting and a great voice too!

Jeff's music and history deserves to be told in a movie where he is the main plot, he was too great to be related, even with his dad.

Penn dis a wonderful job. Maybe you guys dont know jeff. This was a pivotal moment in jeff life. He never wanted to sing, due to his father. He only wanted to be known as a guitar player. He wanted to be a jimmy page. This concert he did turned his life around. Without this concert jeff never would have affected all of us. Jeff was the biggest thing in my life. I am not one to like these types of movies they usually screw it up. But this was quite good. Not 10 out of 10 of at least someone knows how important jeff buckley was.

I have to say I think the record store scene was amazing. Later on the train, the girl tells him the story about seeing this performer who says about it, that 'every moment of every day is this, the performance is no different" and that jeff has that. The record store scene is just a total testiment to the way jeff could just naturally perform without it being a performance. That & the story about the boy with windsheild wiper eyes were the best scenes for me.

They really couldn't just make a movie about Jeff himself without putting the whole emphasis on his father. No disrespect to his father, but Jeff's music created a beauty that no movie could ever truly portray, especially when that makes it about daddy issues. RIP Jeff. You deserved better.

The legacy of Tim had a direct effect on his son's formation not only as a performer but as an artist. Nobody's talking about him being "sooooo awesome" (god, you're a moron), what we're saying is that he was a huge influence on a generation of musicians before his son was ever famous.

I say they didn't understand him because the film's portrayal of him is a huge trivialization of him. I never met him but I've listened to all of his music and alot of his interviews and have his books. Jeff doesn't lie. So everything you see him doing anything he's 100% real. So I think it's very easy to get to know Jeff without actual meeting him. An incredible scene was the subway scene. Everything about it was great. I just had high expectations for this movie cuz JB is my fav artist

I feel the same way. I think the record store scene was important. He doesn't care if there's anyone starring at him, he's just doing it because that's who he is. The windshield wiper story was so great. It meant nothing, and it was completely random but it really stuck with me after the film was over. It oddly made me feel a little emotional. I think those scenes were the highlights fo the film. I did enjoy the whole concert sequence as well though

idk, it's hard to tell from a two minute trailer, but he just looks like any other actor playing a role. I feel like if they're going to portray a musician like Jeff, they really need to embody him, if that makes sense (kinda like Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line), and they REALLY need to sell it when he sings (which can't be easy at all). I don't see this with him. But like I said, hard to judge just from the trailer.

@Dory Jackson @SaraCookieMonster Both Leighton and Ed have 3 or 4 movies coming out in 2014 with great cast and in all of them they're the protagonists.

I think its gonna be good. I could be wrong. But its never fair to judge without watching first.

The story is really good, but I hated what Penn Badgley did to Jeff.

Me apena la poca inteligencia del público que busca el parecido más que el valor de la interpretación en si mismo...no existen los clones de ahí el valor del talento para atravesar historias y transportarnos a otras realidades.
