Gen X had the internet in the middle of their working lives. Millennials discovered it in college and when they were just getting started in the real world. Gen Z found it as early as middle school and developed it through high school. Now Gen Alpha is getting the exposure from the time they start crawling. It's something to think about in the context of how much time is given for people to process things and the way that they interact with them. After all, the internet really can be a portal into a new world as a new (or more accessible) way of interacting with people. But from one generation to the next, whether on the internet or at the table, I hope we can all stay connected enough to not become the new boomers.

I hate when people say things are 'cringe'. If someone is having fun, and is not harmful to themselves and anybody, there's nothing 'cringe' about them. Just let them live their life, enjoy the things they enjoy. I don't understand the point of harassing people online, and forcing them to be a specific way. The internet has become the judge of " what's enjoyable ", and " what's terrible " because of algorithmic trend. No one has a single opinion anymore : " If everyone loves anime, everyone should love anime, else they're 'cringe'. If everyone hates anime, everyone should hate anime, else they're 'cringe'. " And as stupid as it sounds, it's really a worrying situation worlwide, because whoever control these trends, can use it as their advantages for political manipulation. @JaloDB

Maybe a little rare, but I wouldn't say very rare. Under this one sound (how tiktok classifies videos under a certain song), many people have been sharing stories of big losses (like death of loved ones) that they've had, and *most* of the comments seem pretty sympathetic
Social media is when people make up random shit, say it's real, and then laugh at you for it. TikTok is genuinely a horrible place for teens and, well, most people.
@JaloDB
Ай бұрын
It really isn't that bad. Me and most of my friends have "normal" fyps, and I haven't seen very many dancing videos or any of the videos with the "stupid" trends. All the trends I've seen are digital or recreating something. And while someone could end up spending a ton of time on it, there's an optional reminder system on the app similar to youtube's. Another thing I've noticed is that a ton of the things I see in tiktok show up in some sort or way on youtube after a few weeks.
@developmentallychallenged
Ай бұрын
@@JaloDB It isn't about the jokes or humor, but the blatant misinformation that I run into constantly. I enjoy fact-based content related to history, technology, and science. On tiktok, it's very common to see what I enjoy being presented incorrectly. On top of that, there are so many lies and inaccuracies that wouldn't make sense. For instance, I saw a man once speak about the R*pe of nanjing and present doctored photographs of the event that is known to have very little photo documentation.
@JaloDB
Ай бұрын
@@developmentallychallenged ok yeah I can definitely see that. On tiktok there's a STEM tab but I haven't really checked it for facts just yet. There's definitely quite a lot of misinformation but social media isn't really intended for that type of info (at least from what I've seen). The problem is that many people are gullible or (some other word, I don't remember the specific one) enough to believe that info. If I'm interested enough I usually try to search for other info on it a bit but I know that other users probably don't. But yeah, misinformation is definitely a problem on there and I wish people weren't so gullible. I will say though that I've only really seen that a couple of times, but that's just me.

Edit: I believe I found an interview with the one with the blue tie, I'm not fully sure if it's real but I'm pretty sure it is. He seems to find some of the stuff funny and he's getting some hate, but also a lot of positive messages. I think after the meme dies down, they will all be seen in a positive light like I view them. I tend to see with memes that revolve around a person to go that way, where in the end, they're respected and all the hate goes away, and they are just seen as someone who brought laughter and joy to the world I like the memes on this, but i admire them. If i got to see one of them in person, id be excited. Theyre like a gang of super cool people. The amount of emotion they spread in a short timeframe is inspiring. And i like seeing people analyze the fun their having individually, and trying to better understand people's depth through short clips. I could only imagine being as expressive as them to prompt people to be able to understand my character through few actions. Of course some people are mean about it, but not all the content is directly mocking the rizz party.
