@darelet The shoes help her run faster on the day, absolutely, but honestly I'm not sure that it accounts for quite that large a margin. But, in a way, I think the shoes did help her drop the time so significantly in a different way, which is help her stay fresher and recover faster in her training, which allows athletes to run quality workouts more frequently. Many athletes haves attested to this. So yeah in a way you're probably right that the shoes had a LOT to do with it, if we take into account both ways in which they're helping.

In the same day of this epic running, I bit my record half-marathon in 13minutes, first half marathon 1.32, Sunday 24 September 1.19,36. So funny!!!!
Wow just stunning, congrats. I wonder what will first fall: Men under 2h or Women's under 2h10m?

Watching in awe from the sidelines. She looks like she's ready to run another one back-to-back.
You have to be patient to lengthen the world record

super shoe may contribute to 0.01% of this performance. The rest 99.99 is coming from hard work. She had been prepared more than 10 months for this WR. She had upto 200km per week training. It is not as easy breaking world record because of the shoes. Don't forget she hat third fastest time last year without this shoes.

Shoes have made track records useless. Radcliffes record stood for 16 years, then the super shoes came, and we are to believe every Jane is running huge margins off that mark? Do we conclude Assefa is 5 minutes better than Radcliffe and can always best Radcliffes 16 year record on any and every race?
Best moment in running history’

God bless Ethiopian ❤😊
Very impressed Let’s see if she can win marathons in her 40’s like Kipchoge
Wow I remember when the big news was women’s sub 2:20 traditionally considered elite men time. The times have definitely changed with the times!

You are New !! it is mandatory and Compulsory before and after running 🏃♂️ Congratulations both men and women winners 🏆
It was about time to show the men that the gap is smaller than we thought, if women are given a good shot at excellence.
And she still looks really good. She's not even appeared skinny let alone looking like a skeleton like Kipchoge.
Faster than a Ferrari.

We are Ethiopin we are the best runner in the planet ❤❤of earth period
I did something extraordinary. good good good
Let's all wait for the blood sample
Women's distance world records have been plummeting recently. Might we see a sub-2:10 before too long?? Obviously it's still almost another 2 minutes away, but with how this record in particular has been exploding, who knows what's on the horizon?

@darelet The shoes help her run faster on the day, absolutely, but honestly I'm not sure that it accounts for quite that large a margin. But, in a way, I think the shoes did help her drop the time so significantly in a different way, which is help her stay fresher and recover faster in her training, which allows athletes to run quality workouts more frequently. Many athletes haves attested to this. So yeah in a way you're probably right that the shoes had a LOT to do with it, if we take into account both ways in which they're helping.

Marathon 🇪🇹 Tigist Assefa: 2:11:53 (Women's World Record) 🇨🇳 Zhu-hong Li: 2:10:46 (Boy's 17 Years Old Age Group World Record) No Biological Difference between Men and Women though right? 🤔
Just a simple flash where are antidoping control!!!
