The lyrics are actually beautiful.... It's voices of those two women.... One is SO off key .... It's like someone scratching a blackboard. On the other hand... what if they took a cub from a litter born in one of those crazy 'backyard' private zoos from hell or some stupid African hotel that likes to show chained monkeys in a tree and lion cubs. Then, if they're lucky, they seize the animals in hell, they go to a sanctuary for ever and never have a chance at more..so take a litter and fly them to different locations they know the tigress/loiness is a good mom and TRY to give it a life not behind bars. I have no idea where the cub came from. But I know it didn't come from a healthy mom with a litter in a healthy pride in a safe zone out in the wilds of Africa.

Proof that Lions and tigers have heart

From the video and song, I got from that this is a sanctuary for tigers in Africa called Tiger Canyon. Savannah is an orphan lion cub. She would die from starvation if nothing had be done about it. Julie is a tigress with new born cubs, so he come up with a plan that if he rub Savannah all over the tiger cubs so that their scent are on Savannah as well that maybe she would be mistaken for her cubs & Savannah can be taken care of by Julie. Apparently it dint work & Julie still recognize that Savannah its not her cub but because her mother instinct kicks in that she still let Savannah stayed & suckle off her. Savannah stayed with her foster mother till she a full grown lioness. They hunt together, sleep together & Savannah even take care of Julie new born cubs. One day There is a flood in the canyon. All the tigers had to be group up closely to each other to avoid the flood. So the caretakers had to sedate them all to avoid fighting. But disaster happen when Savannah was sedated Julie mate a male tiger who dint been sedate yet killed her. The caretakers dint expect him to attack her because he seem alright with her before for a long time now. Maybe because she look weak from being sedated that he took the opportunity to attack her for whatever reason. So that's the end for this sad & beautiful story. People in the comments keep saying that the guy is a monster for letting a lion cub be taken care of by a tiger but if he dint try that she could have been dead either way. But I think they should have just relocated her somewhere else when she all grew up. But they probably don't have enough funds to do that.

Thanks for this complete account of the story..,which is really im looking for..!! ...I feel so sad for Savannah..also for all the comments here laughing at the songs by these truly animal-loving heroes... they are not professional singers..they were just singing in memory of this sad-fated lion...😭😭😭... lions are group-living animal..i guess that's why Savannah chose to live with the tiger mom..while other tiger kids left when they're grown up... This song, in fact, fits into the sadness quite well, and really makes me cry....😭😭😭...(.. Savannah should be put back to the lions areas, maybe tough at first, but once accepted, she can really live her LION life...)...

I don't know for sure but there is more video where this a*****e talks a little about Savannahs birth or right after her birth. I'm sure that the newly born Lion cub was #3 days old when this a*****e put her with adoptive mama Julie. In fact the other video is most of this same footage but contains a bit of new or unseen footage and it also doesn't contain the news of Savannah's death. I didn't even know of her death until I saw this video early this morning. The only other video of Julie and Savannah I've seen is the one I described above. I'm so devastated!!! Just heartbroken, truly. The fact that her death was so untimely and premature and also it was very, very avoidable!!! I'm so angry at this imbecile because even those of us who are commenting, who are not Vets or Animal biologists or caretakers or behaviorists know enough about these Great Cats to know that Savannah and Julie should have been protected and in an enclosure of their own and there never should have been a male Tiger in an enclosure with a female Lion and a female Tiger with cubs!!! I'm ready to kill this idiot who cost Savannah her life and cost Julie her daughter!!!

So....this guy took a lion cub from it's mother, and put it with another cat with her own cubs, knowing (or at least he should know) how territorial and aggressive cats can be, no idea at all what would happen,whether the tiger would accept the lion cub or kill it and just said "lel what would possibly go wrong?". What would he have done if the tiger killed that cub? A baby would have died for no reason. Not only that but from what I gather, the lioness in the 2nd half of the video is the cub, who was darted because she was going to be returned to her "original pride" but was killed by a male tiger while darted. This poor lioness was doomed to die no matter what, because even if they had "returned her to her original pride"...they would have killed her, lions don't just accept outsiders. John Barty or whatever his name is has been controversial for a long time. No idea why he and "tiger canyon" hasn't been shut down.

indria drayton They are in an enclosure separated from lions or any other predators. He didnt ‘happily’ film these tigers fighting. He’s not the one filming, anyways. He’s a part of it, certainly, but not the one filming, and he didnt want to see the animals killing each other. But that could happen in the wilds of india, as well. He didnt put the tigers in this situation, either.

This was a very Dangerous thing to do. Savannah was very lucky.

I like this video so much, the cubs suckling their mother, including the lion cub, how much effort these felons put in to get a prey, sharing with its cubs, fearing the poachers,. I love it all, we need to protect these species for the world to survive.

In loving memory of Savannah. I just came by your videos (related to others I was watching), and after the Tiger births Part 1, I was hooked. I only minutes ago watched the video of Savannah being placed with Julie and then dealing with the next litter of tiger cubs and struggling to handle them right. But I'm a lifetime cat lover so I'm grieved to hear that about Savannah. Beautiful lioness, inside and out!

This lioness died because of your experiment of putting two different species who do not coexist and actually view themselves as rivals if they were to overlap in territory. This poor, sweet lioness grew up thinking tigers were family, but in reality, the only family she knew was her adopted mother tigress. You then made the grave mistake of putting that poor lioness in the midst of "strangers" who never accepted her and killed her once they had the chance. You, sir, are wrong for all those things. You cannot tamper with nature and order of things!

The mom-tigress looks at the cub with curiosity and , I think, affection, and then she snarle at it and shows her teeth. Then it's back to gently sniffing her, and snarling again. LOL. Definitely an occasion for a song....

The lyrics to the songs are actually very meaningful and sincere. I pay attention to the words of a song and it's evident the song is personal 💗. Maybe let some other singers sing their version of these beautiful songs.

For all the people saying John Varty is a piece of shit, at least he's doing something to preserve species. At least Savannah got to taste freedom instead of growing up behind cages.

But it costed her life. It would have been better to introduce her to another lioness, or at least separate them once Savannah was grown up. As a lioness, her instinct is to stay with her mother, but tigers are lone animals. By letting Savannah stay with Julie, the disaster was bound to happen. Even if Julie did not consider her a threat to her cubs, it was obvious that the father would not feel the same.

@@treborironwolfe978 That's right, although Lions and Tigers aren't felines. (Felids but not felines) Anyway with that said, I've changed my view somewhat as regards this. I believe he should have transferred the lion cub to a lion sanctuary/reserve at the earliest available opportunity. Eventually she was killed as a result of this dumb experiment :(

@@SL92018 I would not call it a "dumb" experiment, more an "unfortunate" experiment :( Regarding "felines".. "Feline": noun: "A cat or other member of the cat family." Regarding "cats" .. The definition is too long to post here, but it basically describes "a small feline", aka house cat aka small wild cat. So, I believe you are correct here with your correction of my previous comment ;) Lions and tigers are certainly not "small cats".

Well... his main focus was probably just to make video with a song telling the story (which was a horrible ear offending song)...probably didn’t give two shits about the cats.

I am not understanding how the situation even occured where a lioness would be placed with 2 hostile tigers. Like, why?

This man is absolutely sick. What was the point of making a lion be raised with tigers. They're not meant to coexist and for good reason. Do not mess with nature for your amusement. Animals aren't here to entertain us. This was a disaster waiting to happen. Savannah was meant to be in a pride among other lions under the protection of a male lion, raising her own cubs, and not die at the hands of a full grown male tiger, poor thing didn't even stand a chance. Male tigers and lions kill cubs of their own kind fathered by other males, what made this man think it wouldn't kill a foster daughter of a completely different breed. Such a shame to see such a beauty die this way.

Such a beautiful lioness! With such a beautiful name. Which is my youngest daughters name also. Savannah Rae... Just so sad that this beautiful animal lost her life.

Savannah passed away sadly, there were floods in the tiger canyon and she was killed by a male tiger

It is such a beautiful experience to see a small lion cub growing in a tiger den, but it was so sad as well to have read about Savanna's dead... thank you for this touching movie and for your songs, dear Sunette and John Varty!!
