How to tighten loose handle | Moen Kitchen Faucet | Cannot turn tap on or off | Lever is loose | DIY
This video was made for the Moen 7594C Arbor One-Handle High arc Pulldown version with chrome finish. But the repair method might be applicable to many other faucet models that have a similar issue.
Tools required: Hex or Allen Key # 3/32, Paper towel (to clean grime or grease)

Fixed my problem! My faucet is the Trinsic Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O Technology in case anybody else is googling that name, and the process to tighten the handle was exactly as listed here.

Thanks so much for this. Every other video and bit of info I found on Moen faucets said it used a 7/64 hex head and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working, even after jamming a mirror back and looking at it with a light. You're correct, it's a 3/32. Very small difference, but super important.

Thanks. I never knew about the starting point to be at 90 degrees, and handle top facing me. It made setting the loosened handle perfect.
3/32 did the trick. Appreciate it mate.

Thank you!!! I have a different model and thought the set screw was missing. It was just out of sight. I was trying to find a new screw and Allen wrench to fit. Presto! I tried out an Allen wrench in the space and accidentally advanced the hidden set screw when I twisted the wrench. Lever works perfectly! 😘

Unfortunately, this was only temporary fix for my Moen faucet. It got to the point that I had to retighten my set screw throughout the day or the handle would come completely loose.
I have this faucet, Moen, M/N: 7594 OB (Oiled Bronze) the correct size on mine is not 3/32nd, it is one size smaller 5/64th. Nice video.

Great video! It's a rare find, but we have that same Moen kitchen faucet with the same handle issue. Before watching your video, I spent a good 30 minutes trying to get various size allen keys to engage the set screw. An internet search for the size suggested 5/64" for most Moen faucet handles, with some saying 7/64.." Moen's product support says there is no standard size for the different models, and sells a set screw "set" on their website. But I'm going to see if I can find a clearly-marked 3/32" allen key and give it another shot. I'll let you know. Thanks for the video!

Turns out, our 2019 Moen Arbor kitchen faucet uses the 3/32" allen key, but my dad's older model Moen Arbor uses a 5/64" allen key. Best to bring all 3 sizes to the sink and test the fit.

Its in the description. #3/32 for the one I have. Hope this helps
I can’t get that ring to stay tight! I try using a bent coat hanger (or steak knife like you mentioned) and it will tighten up, but only for a shirt period of time. Anyone know if there is a special tool to tighten it?
@longwayhome5569
3 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to tightening the set screw? The only tool I use to tighten the set screw is an Allen or Hex key. The video shows the exact size of Hex key I use. See also the description box.
What to do if the base (the part under the cap) wobbles?

I have done this but it is still loose. What can the problem be?

May not work perfectly if the parts were already worn out. Is it a set screw or faucet handle that doesn't fit so well
@keithbryan5737
3 жыл бұрын
@@longwayhome5569 Similar issue, everything fits fine, it just doesn't tighten. Maybe we need to replace an interior part? Such as the stem?
@longwayhome5569
3 жыл бұрын
@@keithbryan5737 I would first check the set screw. Do threads feel worn out? Does the screw sit squarely on the flat of the stem when tightened? Gently nudge the lever before tightening to ensure the screw is not sitting over an edge of the stem. Is the stem leaking grease and preventing the screw from a good friction grip? The grease can be wiped off with some paper napkins. I'd also avoid over tightening the set screw to avoid wearing out the threads. If everything above checks out fine, I'd then check other parts for any unusual wear. Hope this helps
