How times have changed. Back then, if you wanted to do 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds, you needed a bespoke twin-engined 4WD Caterham-esque car, the right weather, the right surface and everything needed to go perfect. Today, you get into a car like the Porsche Turbo S, press the Launch control button and set off. And it'll do that anywhere, every time.

The 720s used by Apex has done a lot of miles on the track and never needed anything other than routine servicing. The Drag Times 720s is the same - and is regularly launched in drag races. 🔵 Just after (4:04) you could hear him hit the rev limiter twice, and @(5:03) you could see the front wheels spinning MUCH faster than the rear, that discrepancy is probably what fatigued the rod, it appears to me that the slower turning rear wheels were holding everything back! shouldn't the front and rear Wheels be synchronized? I think the car could have done better with someone who was more intimately familiar with the car over a greater period of time, as I'm not sure how long this fellow spent with it before going for the record, he didn't seem to have much finesse with it, and was more ham-handedly brutal with it more than anything else, I'm not quite sure if that was the proper way to handle it.

@@andrewnorris5415 Thanks for your insight. Kawasaki engineered the engine, for use on a motorcycle, and then these Brits, thought...oh let's stick them in a car...without proper R&D ofcourse , a typical Brit shed job, and there, bang it went! Job well done mate! A for enthusiasm, F for execution. Hence, I never heard of them. Does this explain the 'good reason'?

Even the RS200 only managed 0-60 in 3.6sec and on to 249 mph. Advanced traction control has improved the times today. The Tiger managed it by having a crazy power to weight ratio and a skilled driver to get it all down smoothly (Tiff).

So what acctually happend is that during the 0-60mph run one engine gearbox did not shifted and that is why the engine blowed. If that gearbox could be sincronized it would be a real monster.

Super cars take 5 seconds huh? Considering The Matrix theme playing in the background this has got to be from around the year 2000 or so. These days a super or hyper car better be well into the 3s to be called such. Hot Hatches are in the 5s these days lol
