Yes, I switch over 2-4 times as well. We have clear seasons and I differentiate stuff like those autumn pants or christmas cozy clothes as well. It is so nice to rediscover what I had in the storage box at the top of my closet after a couple of months. But I for sure am a "out of sight, out of mind" person as well. 😄

@@faeriesmak as mentioned in my comment "in the storage box at the top of my closet". I have the high Pax version from Ikea with the matching Skub boxes on my top shelves for anything that is not in use right now. :)

I live in Northern Virginia and we get all four seasons and my closest is a medium size reach in so I do switch out seasons. I also use it as a clean out time. I organize to cater to my lazy side by organizing things by function and by color per group. That way I can put an outfit together with minimal effort. And I keep that organization by removing the clothes and leaving the hanger so hanging them back in the right place is a no brainer. I like to put in the time necessary twice a year so I don't have to the rest of the time.

I have all the closets to myself as a single human, so I don't switch over, I just have things broken up into different spaces. I definitely sort by color!

I do not sort by season as we can get cold weather even in the midst of summer…I tend to layer all year long with sweaters and tanks. However, I do sort by color and that helps me find specific colors to coordinate with whatever nail polish I chose to wear. It shows me, at a glance, what colors I have too much of or am lacking and maybe need to purchase. I also leave a small basket in my closet to catch things that immediately upon putting on are not working for me. I remove them before wearing and toss them into the basket so they do not go through the laundry and end up back in the closet to collect dust. When the basket is full, it’s time to donate or sell😉

We have four seasons so definitely put away the cloth that will not be used. It’s a good time to declutter anything not being used.

I love how you’ve set up your space. I’m always learning and trying new ideas so I am grateful for your videos. Having lived in NYC I had to store any out of season items in a suitcase under my bed. It might have taken me a few decades, but I now have a walk in ELFA closet of my dreams where everything is on display year round.

I used to change my clothes over for the seasons, but I've found where we live, there's such a long transition time, February through April and September through November are no longer Spring or Fall, they mostly are just summer and winter days all jumbled in with Spring and Fall. So now I am working on pairing down my wardrobe to something I can comfortably keep out year round.

I live in Canada in an one bedroom apartment. A quarter of my closet rotates seasonally, mostly the coats because there is nowhere else to store them in the off season and I don't have a front closet. I have four drawers under my bed, one is all my winter sweaters and one is all my summer clothes. These drawers rotate because of the size of my bedroom means there is always one drawer that is hard to access (regardless of how I arrange the room). In the fall and spring I move these around from the hard to reach corner to the easy to reach corner depending on the season. I also arrange my clothing by colour, almost everything in my space is arranged by colour, with the exception of books. Those are arranged by genre and then alphabetically.

I live with family so my space is limited especially the closet. I use to live on my own. Hopefully I can get my own place. ❤ bootleg and flair leg 👖. 🥰 hello kitty onesie and 🍓 ☕️. I organize my closet by sections such as first work clothes upfront than causal etc. I use a clothes dividers I bought in Amazon.

I don’t have enough clothes that I need to switch out seasonally. My closet is comfy clothes on one side and “Office Appropriate” on the other (both sorted by weight/sleeve length).

Kay: takes down a shelf that only houses stuff she has forgotten about and never uses. Also Kay: "Hmmm... I should put a shelf right there to store some things." Lol - love ya!

I love watching declutters to give me inspiration, but clothing versions just make me feel like going shopping. Everyone (besides real extreme minimalists) has so much clothing!

I have a walk-in primary closet that I share with my husband. Not a fan of the system in there (not adjustable) but making it work for now. I keep all my hanging out but separate warm season and cool season . I then sort tops by sleeve length and then by color. I have three of the Reisenthel folding storage containers and was so sad they stopped making them. They are so good! I use them for winter sweaters and out of season storage. Love this I just have a 1930s french double wardrobe (armoire) plus drawers so also a seasonal changer. Off season lives in boxes under the bed. We have a confusing seasonal variation in the UK but 4 is about right. Spring/summer (mild, probably rain), holiday/heatwave summer (HOT), autumn/winter (windy & rainy) and Winter (proper COLD). All seasons can occur in one month here but hey ho, layers are key! 😂

That swimsuit is so cute! I should go through my sweater drawer because it can barely close. This was a good reminder.

I just switch my clothes and got rid of clothes I haven’t worn in the past year except a couple special occasions so they are at the ready. 👏🙌

I live in FL so we don't have the different seasons but I do have some sweaters and warmer pants. They stay in one lower drawer all year. I have two small bins that live at the top of my closet for Halloween and Christmas themed tops. I bring those down and hang up during that season. It's not that many so I have room in my closet to hang them for the short period of time.

Tiny termites cause fine brown dust...you might want to spray your closet wood shelf and ceiling.

I live in South Texas. Weather here is pretty warm year round so I generally don't need to vary my wardrobe very much. I keep it all out year round in my Elfa closet that I just got this year. Love it! My coats are in my coat closet, which is separate, so they just stay there all the time in the off chance I will need them.

Powder !! I use baby powder where my small clothes are snug . My Grand daughters call it Nana Powder. It does get everywhere.

I live in Texas and we don’t really have 4 seasons in my part of the state. Most of my clothes are worn year round. I do have winter coats that I hang elsewhere in the summer, and maybe a few long sleeved shirts that also get moved around. Most of my wardrobe is jeans and tee shirts that I wear year round. In colder months I still wear my short sleeved shirts, just add a sweater. It is not uncommon to see someone wearing flip flops, shorts, and a hoodie!

We are so similar I found a bunch of makeup I don't use or didn't know I owned and my clothing is arranged by colour I rotate my closet some stuff is in all year I just swap around on the high or low shelf depending on the season

Even in central Florida there’s a cold front coming through today (though our overnight lows won’t be anything like yours). But I do have some potted tropical plants that I’ve brought inside and I will need a jacket tomorrow morning 😅.

I love your closet and the great organization! I'm in Indiana, so I do switch items seasonally as well. I keep the out-of-season items nearby because we tend to have unexpected breaks in the weather.

Yep I swap out seasonally as well. My bedroom walk in is organized by work, casual, and jackets then by rainbow color. My second walk in I highjacked from one of the guests bedrooms is dresses and more coats also by rainbow. I have accessories scattered between both areas. The ones I use frequently are in my room.

I don’t switch over but my husband does in his dresser drawers. I wear scrubs to work so I probably have less clothes than the average woman who may work in an office…or anywhere they don’t wear casual clothes

I love watching your tidying and decluttering videos, and how you utilise the various components of the storage system. I live in Greater London and although we get seasons, our winters aren't as harsh as other parts of the UK, so I prefer to layer my clothing rather than have big heavy coats and jackets. All my clothes are in one wardrobe since having a major clear out about 6 years ago, including folded items, underwear and shoes. It was strange at first but I've found that I prefer having everything in one place

I sort my clothes by season and then by type of clothing. Then by color and length if its skirts or dresses.

I know you hate the under the bed solutions, but our house has limited closet space. So I have 2 under the bed containers that I swap clothes from between winter and summer. Def needed in NY and I don't want to see clothes hanging in my closet that I'm not wearing.

I have four seasons here in Denver. I switch out my clothes in the start of summer and winter. I sort by color too. Much easier to find the right tops. I have a few of those cloth containers on your top shelf too. And was very disappointed that they no longer are available. I wish I would have bought more. Great job on your closet today. I clean them every few weeks if I’m being 💯 but Parian Spirit is my fave cleaner for spot cleaning if it gets REAL bad lol
