Just want to make it known because I WISH i had done this in the video, but “mess is morally neutral” is a saying that was originally coined by KC Davis, and it resonated with me so much. Shes a fantastic author, and fellow messy human. She goes by the handle @domesticblisters on TikTok, and I encourage you all to check her out!! ❤

I'm so glad you quoted her! Her book, "How to Keep House While Drowning," changed my life. If you struggle with executive dysfunction as well, please do yourself a huge favor and check out that book ASAP. She's written it with neurodiversity in mind, so it was a very pleasing read. Happy New Year Remi and family! Thank you for all you do!!

Just I tip that worked for our family when I did not have a rumble drier, I was caught with huge piles of closes to wash, so I washed all at home and husband went to launderette to dry it. Worked out not too expensive. My in laws have a electric drier for years now. I enjoy watching you’re videos 😊 keep going 😊

When I’m struggling with doing stuff my friend taught me to do this…when I’m sorting washing to say out loud I’m grateful to have clothes to wash and water and a machine to do it. When I’m washing dishes I say I’m grateful to have food to eat and running hot water to clean them. When I’m cleaning I say I’m glad to have a happy and warm house to clean. Makes me remember that there are always people who don’t have what I do. It’s so easy to forget and I need reminded especially when I’m sulking because I don’t want to do chores😂. You are doing an amazing job and have a beautiful family. Happy new year to you. Hope it’s safe and happy.🎉❤.

As a mum whom has not been given a diagnosis of OCD (From an early age), and would have a cardiac arrest or a break down if my home became full of clutter and mess (Despite there only been 1 child), watching your videos have became my therapy. Sitting down watching you clean and tidy, as well as involving your family during it all has given me a sense of relief on a night. It enables me to relax and just take a step back when life gets on top of you. Everything within your videos I find soothing, comforting and creates inner peace. Remi watching your videos and realising that I’m not alone in my struggles is like a breath of fresh air. To see someone who is just like me, I’m 38 and have adhd and struggle to keep my home clean with my 3 kids and night shift worker husband. I see homes on Pinterest and KZread and they are beautiful and clean and put together at all times and I want to be like that, but I’m just not. I have doom piles of laundry and random crap that I haven’t put away and it makes me feel like a failure cos it’s not like the homes I see online. To see a home that is real and lived in is so refreshing. Your transformation at the end was very satisfying and you should be so proud of yourself for what you achieved in just one day.

Love you, Remi! Honestly, when I look at the before pictures, I just see small, busy space, with young kid and a working mom, during the holiday season! Its the everyday toys, laundry and dishes. Not terrible, lazy or selfish. Normal for the conditions. I bet you had lots of fun with the kids over the holidays, and that's what they will remember right down to their souls. One tip that worked for me with my kids play dates when they were old enough: I would let them know half an hour before their friend had to leave that they could either keep playing and do the clean up later on their own, or they could spend the last of the play time cleaning with their friend. It's amazing how motivated they were to get their friends to pitch in! We did the same at our friends house, too, cleaning up before we left. For the dishes in the sink, I have a dish pan on the side for dirty dishes that are rinsed and stacked, but waiting to be washed. That leaves my sink free, and lets me move the dirty dishes out of the way when space is in short supply. For drying your laundry indoors, would it help to have a couple of wall-hung air dryers that fold up when not in use? Cooking tip - save yourself the bother of peeling potatoes. The skin provides more vitamins and fibre, so there's no guilt! Funny, but I need a plan for most things in my life. I follow routines when I wake and when I go to bed. If I don't have to always decide what's next, I save a lot of time. Find what works and stick to it! My best tip for clutter is to use vertical space. Wall shelves, book cases with baskets, cupboards. New, cheap, second hand, or hand-me-downs - tidy doesn't have to be expensive. Having a check list is SO satisfying!! Thanks for the reminder to be kind to ourselves :) I appreciate - both as a child and as a parent - the chat about acknowledging the messages we have been taught, but taking responsibility for our own inner voice. Love the star machine! Just curious, why was the bath bomb in a cloth? xo 💜

thank you for all that you do. i’ve been crying over the state of our house for a couple of weeks now. my partner works a lot, and he isn’t able to help with day-to-day cleaning very often. because of that, a lot of the pressure is put on me to keep the house clean. although he’s always so understanding and supportive when i can’t get motivated to clean, i absolutely beat myself up for it every day, and it’s taken a huge toll on my mental health. since finding your videos, earlier today, I’ve been able to find the motivation i need, a system that works, and i’m finally starting to get everything cleaned up.

Remi, a suggestion for drying your laundry - if you don’t already have one, you can get an indoor drying rack. There are a few different types. Amazon had some in their days deals a few days ago. The one that had flat pieces on each side would allow for flat drying larger things and other parts to hang other pieces on. If it helps get things done it may be worth it to you. Happy New Year and God bless you and family! ♥️💕🙏😊

We have a clothes horse? I’m not sure if that’s the same thing? 😊 we also had a heated dryer but Ike kept scalding himself on it, so we had to get rid 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ll definitely have a look over on Amazon, thank you for the suggestion! And happy new year ❤️

I have a drying rack high on the wall in the bathroom. I made it out of an old childrends bed, but you can buy them, even foldable. I can hang the cloths even directly on the hangers, they dry better, and dont take up any space if i forget them :-) @@remiclog

You videos have really helped me figure out how to stay on top of things at my own house. I don’t have kids but I do have a dog who likes to take every toy from his bin out each day lol but I found what works for me is cleaning in bursts. I set a reminder in my phone to clean for 30 minutes every day and I vary which spots I choose based on necessity so it’s often the kitchen or bathroom but it might also me just doing a task like switching out the bedsheets or doing a load of laundry and for me that really works. Our house is still cluttered in a lot of areas but it’s livable and cozy and some days I have more energy and get a lot more done like organizing a cabinet but having the routine of cleaning every day even just a little makes it less overwhelming

Dear Remi, I can relate to your story. I am looking after my grandchild whose single parent is an artist who has got another day job. ADHD is also in the picture. Life is never boring! I think your approach to celebrate your home and daily life through your art is brilliant. Rhythm and flow, both of the visuals and text, are beautiful. It makes me think that taking care of our dwellings is such a significant part of culture. Your videos also show the repetitiveness of tasks, and I came to think how repetition is a central characteristic of housework. Repeating familiar tasks also frees the mind to think about things or to share thoughts with others. Like you do sharing your wisdom with us. Thank you so much for your beautiful work! Wish you all the best for the New Year!

My issues started while I was pregnant. My house was spotless prior to getting pregnant. I was so tired and sore and unable to move that I had to rely on my husband who.... is NOT a clean person. He can be tidy- but he isn't clean. He does not deep clean and he doesn't prioritize anything more than a quick vacuum/ sweep. Since having my daughter, I've been struggling to get a gripe on losing my private space, dealing with all the clutter that comes with a child and their things (when we bought our house we were NOT planning on having any children.... So, now we are in a place of constant chaos. My daughter is almost 4 and it's been a nightmare for me. I struggle in messy spaces. Now, I'm trying to sort it all out. Thank you for helping me tackle all of this.

Remi, have you heard of the Minimal Mom videos on youtube? I think you might find them useful. You have a toddler, so for the next three years or so, your house will be a bit messy. Some other mommies have moved all toys to a play area in the house, or the child's bedroom, instead of the living room. One Mommy put up a little fenced-in area in a room with toys inside and no toys alllowed outside of the fence! Because, as you know, toys migrate to be near Mommy! But don't berate yourself over this because your babies are happy, loved, warm, fed, clean, cared for and that's what's really important. When they are older and all your systems are in place, things will be easier. Wonderful video. You are so understanding and encouraging. Listening to you, I feel so much better about my own situation and I'll bet many other women feel the same way. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing. Have you thought about decluttering clothing and toys and everything else? It might help and make life easier for you.

I wanted to say thank you so much for the reminder that it is absolutely OK to give yourself grace. I often fall into the trap of talking to myself mentally in a way that I would never do to someone else much less accept someone else talking to me that way. I absolutely needed the reminder that it's not ok to talk to yourself that way. Thank you again.

I love your comment about living the life we dreamt about. Also, not sure if it was you but I remember someone saying all your dishes mean you were fortunate to have food to eat, all the laundry to do means you are fortunate to have clothes etc. Over the weekend I was hanging out my son's clothes and feeling so happy I have a child. And being kind to yourself and how it ripples out. I really need to remember that ❤

I hear you and I can understand some of it, but we definitely have different brains. I am a messy person. I make a mess everyday because I like doing all different things and I usually bring what I can do into the living room to be around family, so it stacks up during the day. But for my own sanity and my marriage (my husband wouldn’t leave a mess if his life was in danger and it seriously makes him nutty being around it), so I have learned to tidy it all up when I’m done and put it back where it came from. It just takes a bit of time but the impact in our lives is huge. If I miss a night of doing the tidy up, I think my house would look like your son’s bedroom. I just can’t. I can’t relax in messes and I can’t live in a dirty house. God has blessed me with a wonderful place, I thank Him with words and with taking care of what He has blessed me with. That goes for everything, I take care of my husband, my car, my land (all 11 + acres of it), my friends, my doggie on and on. And I do my best to take care of myself by “resting”. I will admit that I still have way too much stuff and my life would be a lot easier if I’d be honest with myself and let someone else enjoy things I have but don’t use.
