Love doo-wop! An unusual one with humming instead of nonsense words. Loved this since I was a kid.
My Parents use to jitterbug to this song. Thanks for the Memories
Both this and Bobby Day's original get 10/10. Brilliant 💯
I remember walking home from the school bus stop and hearing a snatch of this song from a passing car. I hummed it as I skipped along, kicking rocks. Great song, beautiful reaction.
Harri this song was covered by Frankie Lymon(1960),the Jackson 5,(1976),Clyde McPhatter(1962),the Dave Clark 5(1965)and Aaron Cater ( the movie " the Princess Diaries ")
Fun... sends me dancing around the kitchen
My mom taught me to jitterbug to this song singing every word with a big smile😊
its like when its from the 1940-50-60s gets you in the first hook after 5-15 seconds, its got a swing!and its an evergreen!
Played that song on my Harley every time I set out for a ride!
Great song for sure and I just love all of these oldies. Too bad they are all so short.
The Jackson 5 recorded a version of this song in the early 70's.
Always loved this one! Thank you.
What a tune 😄
If you were a kid in the 80s or 90s, you've heard this song in a commercial or 10.
Great old classic groove! This one's got me smilin' and my wife singin' and boppin' in her chair. Thanks for the reaction! ✌
I play this song on my guitar and everybody starts smiling and tapping their feet.....
It's 1950s Doo-wop, and Gospel, it's all connected as is the Blues, Jazz etc. It came out as Rock and Roll. Its great!

Legend
Such a great tune from 1957, originally done by Bobby Day. Recognized immediately by the hummed beginning to this best beloved tune of the late 50's. The ever present beat drives this song into your memory and the doo wop vocals harmonizing to perfection sold over 1 million copies. Great reaction Harri. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Little bitty reminds me of the song “Itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini-it’s great!
My sister used a refrigerator as a partner with this record. Thanks you're great.

My first time hearing this. Up lifting tune
I love these hidden gems
I remember dancing to this song often at the weekly Saturday night dance. I must say, though I stilled loved this version, I did like the later 1962 cover by Clyde McPhatter better. I thought it was a brighter arrangement and McPhatter was one of my favorite singers. I'd like to suggest a reaction to Clyde McPhatter's "It's a Lover's Question" from 1959. It's a great song and was co-written by Brook Benton, another great artist of the era.
The first time I heard this song was in the 70s when the Jackson 5 did a cover of it.
🎉🎉🎉 what a song to start the day😂maybe I'm talking to fast👀🤕aaah, let me just enjoy the moment 🙇🏻♂️ thank you sir. Harri😅♥️🇿🇦mmmmmmmmmmhhh😂
Huey Lewis does a great version of this song!
Thank you, Harri for playing and reviewing this early favorite of mine. The song's popularity carried over into the 60s. Superb review!
I think I was 9 or 10 years old . I loved this song . Bobby Day also did it , both were great ! Bobby Day also had another big hit at this time . Rockin Robbin !
Good toe tappin' song!
I may have found your answer Sir Harri - please read below: What commercial uses Little Bitty Pretty One? Philadelphia, “the UK's number one soft white cheese brand” as opposed to the American city of brotherly love, returns to our TV screens with this TV ad, soundtracked by the distinctive sound of Little Bitty Pretty One by Thurston Harris. The song was originally been written and recorded by Robert Byrd, AKA Bobby Day.Jan 22, 2018
ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME
michael jackson, also had a version,of the song, but this is my favorite version.. and if you could find a couy of the 45s with a icture sleeve, what a cool find that would be.
I’m actually surprised that you didn’t recognise this as a cover that The Jackson 5 did. That’s how I got to know this song.
Fantastic to hear and sing along after a zillion years!
I like the Bobby Day version better. Bobby had great hits like Rockin' Robin and Over And Over. BTW, the Dave Clark Five had wonderful covers of Little Bitty Pretty One and Over And Over.
This fantastic song is never not playing in my noggin. The drums are by the foundational New Orleans Rock'N'Roll drummer extraordinaire Earl Palmer! Nothing better than this sound! Peace
In the movie Carry
Thurston Harris was in a band in 1953 called the "Lamplighters". They changed their names a few times. When he went solo he had a big hit with "Little Bitty Pretty One" in 1957. He had a few other songs such as "Do What You Did" & "Runk Bunk".
Taking a gospel style of music for secular songs pre dates this song by decades. The 1920s was the early days of the blues and some it sounded like gospel. Probably because the musicians grew up in church.
...and NO AUTOTUNE.
👍 Just to let you know Huey Lewis did a great cover. It’s such a great song I’m sure it’s been used in lots of commercials tv shows and movies. One that I immediately thought of is a cute movie “Matilda” kzread.info/dash/bejne/ipaZxNCQps6af6w.html
