I have a second kitchen with an adjoining bedroom that is dedicated to my Shirley Temple collection of 30 years. Being part of a wonderful doll group, we traveled to Shirley’s families auction, buying things worn & owned by Shirley adding to our wonderful collections.

I actually have an 18-20 inch Shirley, composition, from the 30's. She does have a lot of crazing on her legs. I don't have her original clothes but made her a dress. A friend gave her to me when she was moving and so I will always treasure this doll. I reset her hair in curlers and it turned out well. I don't think I have ever watched her movies but have certainly heard about her for many years. She was a remarkable person. Your mom's dolls are amazingly beautiful and she obviously took great care of them. Thank you for sharing so many special moments in this doll world that we love!

Hi Rachel! I will always love the Shirley Temple dolls because my father brought me one from New York City in 1965 just before he died at the age of 36. He was in NYC for cancer treatment. I don't know what happened to my doll after my mom died, but I am so glad you have your mother's dolls, Rachel, and I was very happy to watch this video. Please keep them coming because we all truly love you! I check my email every morning to see if there's a new video- and I bet so many others do that too! xoxo Linda

Wonderful episode, thank you! My mother (born c. 1930) was a HUGE Shirley Temple fan and bought me one of the vinyl Shirleys in the late 1950s. My mom would tell me how popular Shirley Temple's movies were during the Great Depression. For a 10-cent admission, you could go to a Shirley Temple movie and forget your worries for an hour or so, and smile. There's an interesting book, "The Little Girl Who Fought the Great Depression: Shirley Temple and 1930s America," by John F. Kasson, that chronicles Shirley's story. :)

One sadly had an accident and has a broken arm, She was made by hobbyist and its the Shirley Temple head on the body for Hilary By Dianna Effner. I need to get her a new arm but people do not believe me when i say i need the Hilary arms for her. I wish people in the doll groups on facebook were a bit kinder. I was also given a vinyl one in the 50’s, and later in the 80’s bought a few of the small ones in different. Outfits than what you showed.I just picked ones I thought reminded me the most of her. Hi Rachel, I too adore my Shirley's and never had one until I started haunting antique shops .I own about 10 Shirley's now of all types.(.except the newer ones ) I do have the Shirley Baby put out by Ashton Drake. I sold all of the others in the ninety's. I have a 20 in" compo Shirley completely restored that I found in pieces ,all torn up, and filthy . I couldn't leave her behind . She is beautiful, but needs a little color. The gal who did the work did not want to make her look too new. I am redoing some vinyl Shirley's with original clothes ,but messy hair. Doll part sells Twin Pines doll hair products that work well. I'd love a compo Shirley baby. Thanks for the video.

Wow, 10 Shirley dolls-that's an impressive collection! Rescuing and restoring a torn-up Shirley into a beauty speaks volumes about your love for these dolls. It's always a balance between keeping their original charm and giving them a little TLC. Thanks for the tip on Twin Pines doll hair products and for sharing your Shirley journey! 🌟

I have one Shirley Temple doll -- I don't collect them and I'm not a big "fan". But I wanted to have one and I looked a long time for one that I like (some of them are actually ugly!) and that I could afford. Mine is the one in the blue dress with black ribbon trim which you showed for a moment in the video. 1958, I think, which is appropriate for me -- just about to stop playing with dolls and start highschool.

Rachel, I really LOVE you Mom's Shirley Temple Dolls, but my favorite of the 2 Dolls from 1934 and 1915 is the ❤❤Stand Up and Cheer Shirley Temple Doll❤❤ with her adorable red polka dot dress❤❤❤❤❤!! Even with the crazing and the eyes that were repainted, she just feels so 1930s Shirley Temple which is my favorite version!❤❤❤❤❤!! However, I really LOVE the 🤠Cowgirl Shirley Temple too🤠❤❤ with her jewelry, costume, and her gun❤❤❤❤❤!!!! I also LOVE the excellent condition that the Shirley Temple Cowgirl is in too❤❤❤❤❤!!! I also really😍😃😲 LOVED that one photo @2:28 of Shirley Temple Doll where she looked like a REAL person with her life like face and hair locks😲😍😃❤❤❤❤❤!!!! However, I do not like the 1980s Ideal version of Shirley Temple dolls which not only do not look like Shirley Temple and I do not like they way they look. As far as Shirley Temple movies go and although they were made before I was born, I liked The Little Colonel when Shirley was dancing with Bojangles❤❤, Curly Top where Shirley Temple is an orphan she sings, "Animal Crackers in my Soup"❤❤❤, and from Wee Willie Winkie with the scene with Shirley Temple visiting the prisoner which was very sweet and innocent🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤!!! I have not watched Shirley Temple movies for many years now, so I will have to refresh my memory by watching on You Tube!!! Rachel, Thank you for sharing your Mom's beautiful Shirley Temple Dolls and other photos of Shirley Temple Dolls with us❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!

In France Shirley movies very rarely air. One day I decided it was time to discover more of her work. In a few weeks saw pretty much everything. So lovely!! Talented and sweet. I've discovered your channel through Shirley videos ❤ Loved your passion for dolls, open heart et open mind, and soon to be mom. I didn't know a thing about antiques, all my dolls are from the 80s ^^ My grandmother was a dressmaker. I loved when she was shopping for fabrics. She taught me a lot. I love fashions, I love dolls, so I was hooked by your channel ❤
