Rachel, Altyn is so smart and I so LOVE his Doll collection🤗🤗💖💖💖💖💖!!! And Like Altyn, I too as a Child LOVED Mr. Potato Head🥔😃💜💜!! When I was a Child and I was sick, my now Late Dad asked me what Toy I would like to feel better and I said, "A Mr. Potato Head"🥔😃💜💜!! Altyn made me feel so nostalgic 🤗🤗✨✨and I wish I still had my Mr. Potato Head😪🤗!! I too LOVE My Little Ponies and I have 3 reproductions as well as one 🏰Dream Castle Pony🏰 from the 80s named Majesty👑💙💙 and I kept a couple Troll Dolls!! As for Altyn's personal collection that he brought in my favorites are: 1940s to 1950s Doll he named Judy with beautiful blonde hair, beautiful lavender gown💜💜 with white pok a dots and matching bonnet💜💜💜💜💜 , 1961 Barbie in the reproduction red flare silk frame outfit❤❤❤❤❤ and necklace , Midge because I LOVE how Altyn styled her hair giving her the 1960s flip style❤❤❤❤❤, and both Ken Dolls💙💙!!! However, my favorite Ken is the 1970s face mold with Ken's plastic blonde hair is just the most handsome Ken in my opinion!! And I so agree with Rachel that the Raggedy Andy❤❤ and Raggedy Ann❤❤ from Altyn's gift shopping spree is my favorite too!! However, I really do LOVE that American Character Sweet Sue Doll💜💜💜💜💜 and the Skipper in the orange 2 piece bathing suit🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡!!! Thank you Altyn for sharing your Doll Collection 💖💖💖💖and your knowledge😃😃👍👍👍👍👍!!! And thank you Rachel for having Altyn as a guest on your You Tube Channel and it was a lot of fun seeing you give him such nice Doll gifts🤗🤗, I know Atyln will enjoy them🤗🤗!!!!

Wow, Altyn is amazing with his specific knowledge of dolls and their history! He has certainly found his niche in life! I have a large collection of play dolls from the 50-70s and Barbies displayed in my doll room. When my three grandsons, ages 7, 10 and 12; visit, they have to sleep in the dollroom, lol. Unfortunately, they have no interest in my hobby and I am sure these experiences will be told by them throughout their lives greatly exaggerated, lol. They do show respect for the dolls, though; except for the one shelf of Barbies that they could reach. Those girls will never be the same!-Barbara Olechnovich

Barbara, your story is delightful! Altyn indeed brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the doll world. Your doll room sounds like a treasure trove of memories and history! While your grandsons may not share the same passion for your collection, it's heartwarming to know they respect it (with a few playful exceptions for those reachable Barbies 😄). These memories, even if playfully exaggerated in future retellings, will surely hold a special place in their hearts. It's these moments and shared stories that make collecting so much more than just a hobby. Thank you for sharing a snippet of your doll journey with us! 💕🎀🌟

Altyn i am impressed by your knowledge of dolls. I have always had to keep my knowledge of dolls to myself. As a child it would upset my mom that i knew more about dolls than my school work. As an adult my knowledge upsets people on social media. I collect reborn dolls and i know the difference between a real reborn doll and a knock off. Also i collect modern porcelains such as ashton drake. I know the porcelains such as Ashton drake do not have much monetary value but most times when i share this knowledge it upsets people. So i try to keep my knowledge to myself.

It sounds like you're doing a fantastic job of introducing the world of dolls to your granddaughter. The American Girls line, especially the historical ones, are a wonderful way to ignite a love for dolls while also teaching a bit of history. And finding treasures like a Bitty Baby crib at a thrift store is like the cherry on top! Passing down the joy of doll collecting is truly a special experience. Wonderful! Love the young man and his dad. My mom loved Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd, and I remember them when I was a kid. My mom loved movies from her time period. I wanted Chatty Cathy but my mom called me her Chatty Cathy when I would ask. My mom didn't trust me with dolls after I cut my lovely bride dolls hair off and I would dress the cat in my doll clothes and the cat would run off and appear with out the doll clothes which I found out was because my mom said she undressed the cat. Well he thinks Skipper takes up room funny - how about Patti Playpal and her siblings?
