    This is the BEST explanation of the procedure by far. Been fighting with those on a fatboy and could not figure it out by the manual. Thank you.

    I have watched a lot of different tutorials and many are very good. What I like about this one, is you smoothly transitioned from each step and explained why you are doing what you are doing! I found this excellent. And..... there is nothing wrong with learning something knew no matter how many years you have been riding. 30+ YEARS for me and still learning something new! Thanks bro!

    My kind of service tech. You can work on my bike anyway. Like how you do the little extras that most service guys neglect to do. Thanks for the great video of how to adjust the throttle cables the correct way. Great channel I look forward to seeing what you're working on next.

    @@norsemencustomcycles7289 Thank you for making it I always like to learn more you can never learn too much. I shared your vid with a few friends who were having cable adjustment problems on their high apes. I will have to check and see what other videos you have. Currently working on dialing in a 00 Softail Standard I re jetted trying to find the happy medium of not too rich yet not too lean. Your the third person I have ever seen who know that cardboard trick right on.

    Thanks best throttle adjusting walkthrough I have seen. I have tried several times to get mine right on my 2000 Softail FLSTC Heritage. I always did it lIke I did on my carb Harleys, but it was like I was missing something. I think the combination of using the /2” ext to hold open the throttle combined with the holding the fork straight then left and right is my issue. I’m going through it tomorrow and I will drop you a comment if successful. Thanks you got a new subscriber. Thanks Dave C

    Hey Mr church thanks for the info however I believe I have to start from o again it was a bit frustrating to put everything back together on my 03 1100 Shadow Sabre but I enjoy wrenching and fixing things myself with the limited knowledge I have the manual held a lot when I’m stuck but not much illustration on cable adjustment I have beyond free play throttle and your video reaffirms I need to redo it step by step with the same patience you displayed thanks again psi I have the attitude that nothing mechanical can never intimidate me or discourage me 😊

    I've been riding Harleys for over 60 years starting with panheads. I've never once adjusted or lubed a throttle cable on any of them. The things you don;t know about. One more regular maintenance thing to add to the list. sigh... :)

    My throttle is starting to stick. I've followed your video and found i had a kink in the idle cable. Can I personally bend it back to just better off replacing it?

  • @flshovelhead
    @flshovelhead Жыл бұрын

    Great video! I have a question though. At the 12:48 mark you point out which cable is the idle cable, and say that you're going to adjust it. A couple seconds later the camera cuts off and then at 12:56 you say that the idle cable was adjusted, but it's not clear what work you did. Is that just taking up excess slack / movement in the possible fore-aft rotation of the throttle?
