These scratches make it really easy for carbon to build up again, if cleaning a body on the car, your brushes bristles may fall down the intake, they're so tiny you won't see it happen. Only ever use a throttle body cleaner soaked cloth and if it's really dirty, remove the throttle body brush all over with solvent and totally wash it out, remember to lubricate the pivot points before you reinstall. So throttle won't become sticky.

@@StarHunter28nearly all electronic throttle bodies will return back to it's original position "closed". And I think you mean "drive by cable and drive by wire". Drive by wire is electric, drive by cable being tied to throttle. You can without issue, push down the plate completely fine with no issues. Worst thing that could happen is you might have to just teach in the throttle once more which takes 2 mins and most cars can do it with a sequence of some sort such as "Holding the gas pedal for 10 seconds with ignition on". My BMW is by wire, plated is tensioned down and stuck closed. Actuators will overcome this, thus, opening throttle. ^

That little bit of carbon on the throttle blade is going to have an effect on performance. Needs to be carbon buildup that inhibits the blade from moving properly or is so much that it drastically changes airflow, which the latter is never really going to happen. Problems come from sticking.

@JM i just run tappet cover filters and have the vacuume ports capped off. My old hilux that i owned years ago ran a pipe from the pcv into a 2.25 litre coke bottle that had vent holes in it, the motor was pretty much lunched and would fill the bottle with oil within 3 weeks. So i saved 2 odd litres of oil going through the intake turbo every couple of weeks. Just poured the oil back into the engine when the bottle started getting full. I eventually got sick of it happening, so ended up rebuilding the engine
