Thrill of the fight calculates how hard you throw a punch. So if you spam patty cake shots they won’t do any damage

Having multiple 70% power strikes land is exponentially more damaging physiologically than 1-2 90 to 100% power strikes. Its similar to taking blind side hits as those are the ones that typically lead to KO's. The mind isn't able to process everything happening.

Getting hit by a combo really depends on the intention of the combo. If its someone just teeing off and you are shelled up its quite different than a combo where some of the hits are really just setups for something more powerful. Of course my only experience is from sparring and low level competition so Im sure others will have better insight. However I will say getting hit with powerful shots will zap any sort of stamina, especially if they are in a row. Its also demoralizing. Since I do Muay Thai and not pure boxing (so I cant speak on that) there are many things you can do once the shots start landing to save yourself so to speak, but getting hit after you are already dazed doesnt end well. That being said, this is the best game Ive ever played. Even my coach liked it. Its the only thing I use the Oculus for at this point.

Best game ever made! Being hit with a combination or just a clean shot it depends on how accurate he hit you cause I feel dazed and I'm able to keep throwing my own punches or move out the way or I'd had times where one of my eyes went black in site and I couldn't hear anything and I have to use my feet to get out of the way and put my guard up.

Ian has said that hip and elbow tracking are needed to calculate accurate punch power. There are plans to address this, hence the disappearance of the force multiplier.

Lag is going to be very difficult. Main thing for me is NOT to have any stamina bar mechanic. Entire point is to push yourself physically. That’s the entire appeal for me for TOTF1 . If it’s not broke don’t fix it

I do boxing as a sport, used to spar abit and I'm really looking forward to trying this out. But I'm a little worried that the mechanics favouring gamers completely inexperienced to boxing. I see many of these "boxing" games where people beat their opponents just be flailing their arms really fast with no real punching force behind them. Hopefully Totf2 brings in actual boxers to help with the development of the game mechanics.

Yeah I think a ranking matchmaking system would be better than a handicap one because you will just get better by playing TOTF naturally. I would suggest improving the score card judges as well so you can revert to your jab and outboxing a heavy hitter. A lot the time I found myself boxing to how the game wanted me to win rounds rather than how I would in real life so there defiantly room for improvement with that, sometimes you can land 100 jabs and get hit hard twice and lose a round in first game.

i hope it has a good match making system with different ranks and titles as we get better..

Can’t really spam punches but I know I will be one of the best at multiplayer.

Hey! Long time no see! I thought you'd given up! Good to see you again ! I actually went training thaiboxning or perhaps kickboxing a couple of times... Anyways, I have unfortunately received two hard bombs a 1-2 straight into my face by a bigger bloke (got a s frikin minor concussion from that...)... I got couldn't move properly because I was a bit shocked and scared rather than having trouble with my balance and vision.. So I would say for someone who is perhaps more experienced probably know how to get their head straight after those type of punches but for any rookie, its a shocking sensation to say the least and you really don't know what to do.. This could be translated into the game that the movements gets slower for a short while and that whole head vibrates like crazy for a 0.5 second per punch. A side-note I realised quickly after that incident was a huge mistake in my "sparring" sessions in the game which was I should treat the punches in the game as if they were actually "real". Then I would definitely be more defensive and careful in receiving any hit at all even by an easy opponent as the Russian boxer...

@@trivialbeingplays I think you should give irl sparring a try, you'll miss out alot fun, you probably are going to come up with new ways of how to incorporate totf for irl sparring even better thus even better content. The risk of getting confusion can be mitigated, not entirely but by a lot. In my case I got extremely unlucky (as you see in the comment others have had worse experiences...) It's important to choose a humble and serious club with empathic coaches. Unfortunately there is a macho culture among us men in sparing that when it gets too hard punches we don't say it but rather eat the punches and try to pay back with the equal amount of force... Make sure to team up similar minded friends from the club that looks at sparing the same way as you do = it should be focus on developing one's skill and not to hurt each other and most importantly IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE LIGHT SPARRING. It should be playful. Communicating with each other if things get a bit heated... Hard sparring (maximum 50% power) should only be done with people you really trust and be overseen by a third person who can stop if things go way too south. Risks can be mitigated. You'll love it, I'll promise you. I hope you give it a try. Thanks again for keeping up with the great work.

Everyone, does the updates for quest 2 brick it? Ive read that v55 gets the headset overheated ans battery life gets drained more quickly due to the increase od gpu and cpu... I dont know what to think. Whats your experience and on what version are you at with quest 2 ?

Feels like the Tesla of VR games in respect of just how ling this is taking to release. It has taken so long that it has skipped an entire device in the, now replaced, Quest 2. I can’t help being a little concerned that they would be foolish not to take advantage of the extra abilities the Q3 brings to the table at this point. Why release a game designed to take advantage of technology that has already been improved? The fact that there has been no promotion of this game, in the developers own words, means the game is still 3-6 months away. I was hoping perhaps they would have used this in the marketing and promotion of the Q3 launch. But I’m now thinking it will be well into 2024 before this game is released, especially as I feel they now have to take advantage of the Q3 and optimise for this hardware.

They should add some more charters and also it’s 2024 so probably it will come out sometime soon. 🔜

he doesn't punch quickly so the force multiplier gives him more damage for less exerting punches, and he hits the weak points with precision

Im a kickboxer for few years, but still didnt understood how to damage works, my hooks are dealing so low dmg and body shots aint doin nothing, my jab does most dmg since I just throw it super fast. I noticed when Im using hooks with my fist turned outside, im dealing huge dmg, I feel its kinda weird tho

If kids coming out spamming do the basics, such as blocking and then not doing anything over the top just like jab cross hook stuff like that, they will get tired making their shots even weaker and then beat them at their own game by coming out swinging hard punches and ending the fight

​@trivialbeingplays I've sparred plenty of times and defense is addicting to use I rarely get hit with one much less a comb ..the times I've been hurt doesn't really hurt because of adrenaline however getting hit in the nose hurts or body shots
