    this really explains a lot of what i've been missing. i like to play without force adjustment and 1.0x damage mult and when only 5-15% of my punches are doing damage it's frustrating.

    Thanks for the tips I had a hard time landing uppercuts and now I know why lol.. this thing feels like real life sparring where you have to set up ur opponents for punches I was just kind of relying on my right hook, usually would do the same uppercuts to the body like you double and step into my right. It worked until money maker lol we both knock each other down but he won a decision. I think now I can set up uppercuts and I’ll fight him tomorrow.😂

    Great thanks! I've noticed (if you're orthodox) throwing a lead (left) uppercut has greater success when your opponent opens their guard, it's quicker and (for me) more accurate. The other success I'm having is throwing a hard right hook that usually moves your opponents hands out wider then moving in and with the same hand (right) to throw the uppercut (very Mike Tyson-esque). I get good power from these too.

    Nice ones! Although it doesn't show in this video, I've also had success with that lead uppercut. I'll have to try stringing together that double right combo.

    When you throw your hooks, try doing the peekaboo style squat, switch feet 90 degree and come up with bad intentions, tyson style is perfect for this game, I've mainly played on easy/normal, but i started watching how tyson does combos, and now i play on outclassed with plenty of knockdowns, you have good body rotation though, keep up the good work man, and thanks for this video 😎🤙

    Yeah. Drift protection (including wrapped wrists stimulation) definitely helps keep the gloves from stretching out on the swings. My recording isn't always perfectly matched up either. So the real world image vs the VR image may make it look like the tracking is worse than it is sometimes.

    Tbh I don't bother with uppercuts cuz 99% of the time the AI just steps back and you miss. Hooks and jabs are the most effective, at least for my experience it is. Just keep your distance, wait for them to drop their guard and jab them then finish it with yellow hit hooks. (Power shots)

  • @errcoche
    @errcoche2 жыл бұрын

    You have the force multiplier off right? So you actually have to hit with genuine speed. I was getting damaging hits with jabs today but I was really focused on the point of the chin. Also starting to time certain opponents lowering their guard to land overhands on the jaw or chin for damage. Love this game. Bought wrist bands and gloves to keep my sweat off the controllers and ordered grips with straps so I can relax my grip. I have dropped a few pounds already, and sweat out about five pounds in session.

    I kind of like doing this as personal objectives in beating the CPU, keep punching their right eye until is swells shut, keep straight punching to the nose until it looks broken, only punch the body until KOed with only body punches, only straight punches till KOed and lastly only box with just using only one hand to punch either right or left hand only.

    Hey champ. I loved watching this video. You play this game a lot differently to how my friends and I play. We always aim for first round wins with fast powerful strikes and usually get the job done that way but I have been wondering whether my friends will ever incorporate more head movement and tactics. It's not my place to tell them what to do as they have a lot more real life experience. So when I found your video it made me really happy because I can clearly see you aren't stepping, dodging or punching hard and fast and yet your tactical approach means that throwing 90 percent offensive and not bothering with 10 percent defense like my friends do wont help them to learn sharper tactics. The tactics you clearly have. I'm excited to play the game tonight to incorporate those tactics. I'm been practicing Dempsey roll but I loved how you step to the right to take their guard side wideways with hooks in order to land a clean upper cut. I haven't really tried upper cuts yet so I"m a massive fan of you now. I can't believe I haven't subscribed yet. subscribing seems like a key survival stragety to me! thumbs up brother!

    Use a camera feed of you in front of the greenscreen, and use an app like Liv (or the Mixed Reality Capture tool, if fixed) to get the headset to send a virtual third-person view to your computer. Use OBS to merge your camera feed of you in front of the greenscreen with the virtual feed. I used a mic on a wireless lavalier for the audio channel in the video of me.

    my problem is that the accuracy is a little funny with it. For me to land a solid chin uppercut I have to be aiming for the tip of their nose rather than their chin, since my glove will often tap their body, making the game think I just did a body jab.

    I have noticed you almost never use straights, is there a reason for that?

  • @trivialbeingplays

    @trivialbeingplays

    2 жыл бұрын

    Good eye! Two parts to the story: (1) I have my mass multipliers manually set to 1x, which makes it pretty difficult for me to do much damage with straights. (2) I gave myself an overuse injury a couple years ago throwing a lot of snappy full-extension straits - particularly while playing Creed multiplayer - and now I'm not willing to hurt myself trying too hard with straights. I feel safer generating the higher speeds with torso rotation (the hooks and uppercuts) than shooting out a snappy jab that my shoulders and upper back have to absorb to stop at near full extension. When I want to distract an opponent and force him back, I will still throw some straights, but with safer form (torso rotation with the fist basically just gently flying off the shoulder). I just don't count on it for much in the way of damage.

    This is not a critique on you, but I see a lot of totf players not really even try to set up their damaging shots by first throwing crowding shots. They always try to directly land. I wonder if the game somehow directs them to do so.

  • @trivialbeingplays

    @trivialbeingplays

    Great observation! I've actually just started doing this a little and it's definitely effective - especially when I use it as cover for moving my feet to getting closer for the hard shot. It just takes that extra bit of composure, thought, and exertion relative to throwing only one hard punch. I guess I just have been too lazy and haven't fully trained it into my repertoire yet. (Also, critiques are very welcome!)

    Although this is by far the best boxing game in terms of realism, it is more a get out of it what you put into it type thing. The boxers have their own tendencies and don't move well. So if your goal is to just beat them more effectively, you will end up only boxing a certain unrealistic way. If your goal is to work on and build your skill, it can be a great base.

  • @TheElias99

    You mentioned a few "rules" in passing about how the game works (e.g. only damaging punches count, body shots slow down your opponent). Where do you find this out? I would love to see a video on game mechanics where you lay all these out so I am not just guessing and swinging

    I've done a bunch of fights and only watched a couple videos. Are we not supposed to punch like we are in a real fight? You look like you are just trying to touch the mark instead of punching through it. I'm gassed after each round and covered with sweat after a 3 round bout. But I'd guess it's because I am hitting the opponent like he insulted my mother.

    Brother. This is the second video I have watched featuring this game. The first one, much like this one, I will not finish watching. Buddy in the first one I watched can duck, weave and block like a champ but not once did he duck and then come back with a powerful blow. Yourself...did you forget you have a left arm? I didn't see a single flurry of left jabs anywhere on his body. Your style is also predictable and it's obvious why you won't knock this guy out. You're slow, weak and F your uppercuts until you figure out how to daze your opponents first.
