Thanks, that was fun. Two years I was tired and leaving my very fav consignment shop when they brought in an entire set of Portmerien, from soup to nuts including a large soup tureen - rarely does one come across an complete set. I hesitated but I was too tired to even stop and think of it even though I was actuallly in need of a new set of dishes. This shop things move fast. To this day I sign whenever I think of that set. which I could have used as my every day dishes. Oh well...

OH YES this Thrift Store was a goldmine. With each discovery I learn about the gems you pick up and have to tell you this week while I went sale(ing) in my town of Saginaw @ Goodwill I also found 2 Wedgewood Sarah's Garden bowls!! But I didn't take them home with me because I had no idea how special they were. So to my pleasant surprise today I learned something new (again) I certainly hope those 2 Bowls are there when I go tomorrow. The Wedgewood Cake Plate is such a nice find... Oh yes I have my gramas Better Homes and Garden Cook Book, I love to look the Cover as it sits on my counter. It always reminds me of her ( I loved her dearly, she died so young 65yrs...I got to live longer than her I'm 67yrs. I thought she was so old when I was 1st married, gee N0T!

Sarah's Garden was a popular pattern since it was created for the Duchess of York when she was a spokesperson for Wedgwood. Go back and get those bowls. The BH&G Cookbook has some of the best recipes that tie us to our mothers and grandmothers. My mother was 59 when I last saw her "living". She was in a coma and overseas weeks after she turned 60. I always think of her when I make Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Cornbread, Bubble Ring Yeast Cake, and more.

I always enjoy reselling with you. I was so surprised at the studio nova pieces, you’re right, they do look like Lenox. At first glance I thought they were Butterfly Meadow by Lennox, which is my main dish set. I’m always scouring resale shops looking for accessory pieces or complementary pieces, I get so Thrill when I find some thing! I am older, have downsized, live alone, so I rarely have big dinners, but I still love the look of butterfly meadow in my china cupboard and sitting around my tiny kitchen. It reminds me of spring time every day. On snowy winter days when I walk into my little kitchen my dishes make me feel like spring time is on its way! For four years I have been looking for solid color blues, greens, yellows, and pinks to mix and match with my dishes but so far no luck. I need to take a trip to Texas and look through all your wonderful resale shops.
