This song always gives me the chills.. Sidenote: stop with the "older stuff is better" bullshit. I been listening to Thrice since First impressions. It's ok to evolve, alright snobby music hipsters?
UNREAL drumming!
BEST BAND EVER.
This was the last song my brother and I listened together before he died
Loved this band for almost 25 years and their music has gotten me through so much. I’m an atheist so their spiritual allegory isn’t why I love their music so much, it’s the talent for melody and lyrical poetry that grabs me. This particular song helped me during a period of life in 2017 that was dark and lonely, and it hits deep any time I hear it. Thanks homies.
This is what it feels like to have a band grow up with you instead of outgrow them or have them outgrow you.
Way back in the day, Riley broke his back and was going to be out for a year or more. Instead of replacing him, Thrice waited for him to get better. And good thing they did. Listen to those damn drums in this song. Bravo good sir!
I HATE how much more recognition you guys deserve outside of this song. You guys legitimately changed my life. I'm a two tour veteran. One Iraq and one Afghanistan and I cant possibly express the effect you've had on me in my life. You're older albums. all of it. I'm 33. I was back there with you guys, I've seen you through your shit, seen and traveled to see you live 8 times in my life. You're my favorite band in existence.I hope you fall back into your fans that truly love you.
This is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard.
I know this is from Major/Minor, an absolutely incredible work.. A master piece really. But as I'm almost 43, long time die hard fan, I cannot believe what a legendary work the Alchemy Index is. The full work. The symbolism. The depth. There is a message there I got snippets of as I enjoyed various songs, but now 15 years later, seem to spiritually cry out from within me as I join in song. I am curious what people will think of it 100-200 years from now.
man I love Thrice even after 10+ years and all their musical evolution!
Those that disliked this, or any Thrice performance for that matter, have no sense of talent
illusion of safety and artist in the ambulance still are my favorite albums ever and was the soundtrack to my teenage angst. When i first heard their "new" sound, i'll admit i was not happy and did not listen to their new stuff. Now that im older...holy crap this is amazing.
Little does everyone know this music could change the world if everyone heard it. They would out preform/write everything and everyone on the radio, and would be outstanding rolemodels for the music community.
the band that only the ones who knew and still are sure these 4 men are legends
When this album came out, my buddy heard this song before I did. He said, bro, it's the best Thrice song ever. I didn't believe him. So my gf (now my wife) listened to it reading they lyrics as the song played. At the end we were both in tears. Complete wreck in the most beautiful way. Had to pause the album to gather ourselves. Now that is art! Damn near perfect song.
I still think this is the best song the band has ever written. Just perfect.
yeah- Thrice hasn't come within a thousand miles of selling out. I talked to Dustin after their show in Charlotte a few weeks ago and he couldn't have been a nicer and more down to earth guy. They put on a ridiculous show, he walks offstage, grabs his acoustic, walks across the street, plays 30 minutes for a couple hundred drunk people and sticks around to shoot it with a bunch of complete strangers. Class acts.
This is so fucking spot on. Jesus christ these guys are good.
Well god damn it. They're still FLAWLESS live. Authentic sign of an upper eschelon band.
