Water is life and the bigger you are the more water you need to survive. Ellies, buffs and rhinos drink regularly and enjoy wallowing in the water or mud. Mpondo dam is in the south of Kruger National Park, a little off the beaten track and an unknown gem. It is north of Biyamithi camp, also a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the south. Matjulu waterhole can get very busy, being close to one of the bigger camps in the south.
