Thousands Of Georgians Protest In Rival Rallies For And Against "Foreign Agents" Bill

Thousands of Georgians protested in rival rallies for and against the "foreign agents" bill as parliament resumed discussions. The bill requires foreign-funded organizations to register with the government and has been criticized for being "Russia-style".

Sad to see how older generations (who, in theory, should be wiser) regularly destroy the lives and futures of the younger ones. To notice almost everywhere. Saying this as a 59yo.

Russian long hand... Putin's desperate, so he's using all the resources he has to undermine the democratic evolution of the former Soviet countries who still have pro-Russian governments and the omnes who changed towards an European ideal, but are still fragile, see Moldova, using Transnistria as a Trojan horse.

It is sad to see when the old generation is no wiser than the young. But that's the way it is here in Eastern and Central Europe. In the Czech Republic we, too, have the stupidest fellow citizens among the pensioners. At least time is thus a friend of Georgia and the Czech Republic.

You are the problem if you think Georgians give 2 sheets about Czechs or if Georgia would somehow benefit the EU... I grew up with 3 Georgian kids and i can tell you for sure that their culture is nothing you are used to... Its a capital offense if you call one a motherfker, they think its ok to kill a person if he screwed your sister and didnt marry her. This nonsense gets passed on from generation to generation and it doesn't matter where they are.. in Georgia or in m case the US

Even I from abroad know that the phrasing if the law will hlock freedom. The law states that those getting money from a company abroad are automatically considered foreign agents and thus need to register (being then able to be). The problem is that the law states that those companies must sign the documents saying that those receiving moneya re foreign agents. I ask: is an influencer receiving money from KZread or Instagram be ahle to force IG or YT to sign a doc saying that some guy as a foreign agent (not of their company but) of USA gov!? Of course no! This mean that independent journalists and even influencer will not be able to survive economically and the narrative will be only from the dtate tv!!!
