I lived in Laguna in the 70's and early 80's -- Thousand Steps was favorite beach.
*Luv that you mentioned to pick up litter*

When I went the waves were just a couple feet. Just be careful when you get down to the beach! :) and have a great time!
Nice I’m actually on google maps rn and saw those two lakes through the satellite and I had to come and KZread what those are 😂😂

It’s like one of my biggest dreams to visit California. Hope I do one day soon :). I just wish I got my own driver’s license so I can go out all the time. I failed my permit test. It would mean the world to me and make me the happiest person alive if I got my license without needing to get my permit. I wish my parents would let me do whatever I want as long as I don’t get into any trouble. I just want to live life to the fullest

You'll get there some day Samantha! I failed my driver's test the first time and passed the second time. It was the greatest freedom I experienced as a teenager. And California is a beautiful state! Good luck with your permit test next time! :)
Hello how many feet was the tide when you went there ?
Did they drain the second pool?

There was still water in the pool to the left of the pool in this video thumbnail, I didn't notice any drained pools when I visited.
What time do you have to visit to avoid high tides?

The tide chart is the video description - I would check out that chart and try to avoid getting there/returning within about 2 hours of high tide. Some days may be more accessible than others depending on water conditions. Have fun! :)
It was a nude beach at one time
I thought these pools were private property. Aren't they?

I saw a decent amount of people accessing it via the public beach - they were hiking there during low tide and the life guard there told me it is ok to be there! You can only get there at low tide and stay for a couple hours before the tide comes back in. There are some very nice homes directly above this pool that likely own the property right down to the beach. There are signs/gates for private property access to the homes behind the beach and pools. Obviously those signed off areas are private property lol
