Thanks mate! Terrain makes the game for me tbh, gives backdrops to tell the stories of the game on (I deffo couldnt deal with the same board layout for the type of game, I can see its value for 40k but its not for me)

I'd have loved to lego brick detachments together (and go nuts if you really want to) arbitrarily but one of the campaign stratagems in the Beta Garmon book seems to indicate that one can't stack allied detachments so freely. The Ragged and Forgotten entry on p. 108 specifically permits a second allied detachment of blackshields to be included in a given force which very much implies that one may only field a single allied grouping normally. not at all offended by the structuring either way but perhaps something to keep in mind. Thank you for the batrep ♥

Hmm interesting: here we’d read the FAQ stating no limit to optional detachments (with no stated 0-1 in the book under allies) as meaning if you fulfill the compulsory you can do multiple allied, but I agree on the p108 stating what you said! Hmm I may just run past my group if they’re happy to play stuff like this (Heresy 2 seems to have matured to the point that people don’t mind trying “House rule” stuff) But thanks for the tip, I won’t be turning up to events with the army (shame I suppose though cos I liked how it set up)

It's all explained in the faqs. You can take multiple allied detatchment but they must be different lists. Ultramarine, dark angels and blood angels are different lists. Blackshields and blackshields are the same list which is why there a rule that provides an exception to allow a second.

It’s so sad watching thousands sons players fail their checks and lose models for their legion trait. Wa there a reason the Khenetai Occult weren’t using their psychic power to get +1 ws and attakcs? They would have minced that unit if they had used it.

Yeah, so just before I did cast it, I fully read the power. It can only be cast if the unit is comprised entirely of models with that rule. Unfortunately I had the herald attached who doesn't have mindsong and therefore could not cast it.

​​@@SqueakTeamSix idk mate, there's some wiggle room there for interpretation. Technically the Herald is attached to the Khenetai, but the two squads are things on their own. He doesn't become part of the squad like an apothecary would, for example. To me it's stupid that the Khenetai aren't able to use their power if they have anything else other than them in their unit, it's not like they stop knowing how to spin their blades more effectively if there's another bloke with them. And in lore they are supposed to be bodyguards and guardians of temples and their scholars, so it makes even less sense. I'd go for Mindsong still even if I attach someone without any issue, it's just a complete nonsense otherwise, I refuse not being able to use it. It's just a sanity check to me.

And speaking of nonsense related to the Khenetai: the explanation beside their page in the rule book explicitly says that their armour is "forged and shaped by the Legion's blind artificers using fire and the force of their minds alone". So why do they not have artificer armour lol Mate, I tell you, there's a big load of nonsense in the current Heresy TS.

I need to know how you did those Suzerain models
