40K Lore For Newcomers - The Warhammer 40,000 Timeline: Prehistory - M41 - 40K Theories

Ойындар

This episode of 40K Lore For Newcomers takes a look at the Warhammer 40,000 Timeline, from Prehistory to the dying days of M41, covering the events of the War in Heaven, Humanity’s expansion across the galaxy, the Horus Heresy, War of the Beast, the Reign of Blood, the repeated conflicts over the world of Armageddon, the thirteen Black Crusades, and the return of the Primarch Roboute Guilliman.
Disclaimer: The audio in this compilation was spliced together from the files used in the previous fifteen episodes. While some additional editing has been performed to improve overall quality, there may still be some differences in audio quality between each segment. In addition, certain events may be missing due to a lack of a specific date, or have since been subjected to retcons.
Also, you had no idea how much of a pain in the behind this was to finally get this to render...

*Disclaimer* : Due to this compilation being drawn from the previous videos that date up to roughly 6 - 7 months ago (at the time of writing), there may be some information within that is now no longer canon or has since been changed or retconned in some way. Also in regards to the decline in audio quality for the narration, this is primarily due to KZread compressing the file to a stupid degree, and thus there is little I can do from my end to rectify this :( Also also, I have just been informed that 006.M31 is mislabelled as 006.M41... *FFFFFFFFFFFU* Also also also, the date of the first murder _may_ be inaccurate, due to contradicting sources (hence why it's circa, not an exact date lol).

You missed a bit of early lore in M3 my good man! In early M3 humanity’s first foray into warp drive technology was accidentally created upon a ship called the “Event Horizon”. The ship’s “gravity” drive unknowingly punched through into the Immaterium, without the later created Gellar field technology to protect them the crew went insane, and the ship itself was likely possessed by what we now call a “Demon”. After the loss of the ship, crew and a rescue team during the ship’s maiden test flight the technology was swiftly abandoned. ;)

The Horus Heresy civil war is really well fleshed out. A lot of franchises like to throw some sort of disaster or civil war into the backstory of their main faction as a cheap way to make it interesting but GW crafted a very realistic scenario which does much more to explain the situation in 40k than a lot of other stories civil wars.

I tried to learn the lore but internet wasn't really formed yet. Played 5 times, lost some of the miniatures... 25 years later this... Tried listening while doing the dishes... impossible without images. But i'm invested now so thank you :)

I really wish some company would get licensed to create a Warhammer 40k mmorpg. I’d love to play as a Space Marine with the player starting as a generic human and with a true death struggle to both earn the opportunity to become an Astartes and the likelihood of truly dying just trying to achieve assimilation of a Chapters gene seed. I wouldn’t care if I had to die repeatedly for months, I’d find it worth it in the end to eventually become an Astartes of The Space Wolves.

Can't help but believe that, Once upon a time This has Taken Place in the Ancient Pasts of Earth's History. The Lore is so vast that it's LEGENDARY. I can see something Similar happening in the Far Off FUTURE. With War Being Fought Senslessly over Natural Resources and Technologies that has been Around for Centuries, proven by archeological dig sites, I wouldn't be surprised if they have found an Space Marine Suit and have Hidden it from Modern Day Society.

@Harvey Crewe Wdym? Humanity is presented fairly weak, and stupid. It took us until 22,000AD to create AI. Yet any time afterwards some factions seem to have no trouble doing from scratch mellianil later. An example of this stupidity would the lack of basic automation, and how the empire treats it subjects (the humans) as disposable. There really is no reason to believe that entire hive citys, planets, and entire ships of guard men wouldn't be in constant revolt because they are treated. This would pretty quickly much cripple the empire almost overnight. Even China ultimately bows down to the common man. Without the common man allowing themselves to be ruled XI Jinping head would be on a pike. The way religion is presented would not long last. There are six major sects of christianity and three major sects of Islam. Even though there is an 'official' goverment sect, there is no reason to believe that a society that large wouldn't have different sects, regardless of how much control they main governing body has (terra). This becomes an issue because it would create additional identity's to fight over. The problem is that 40k was established in 1987 so all the ideas for technology are established under that
