Loki would be the kind to betray Thor just so he could then let everyone kill illusion clones of himself, making them think they killed him and then they'll be telling to eatch other they killed Loki and then they'll be confused over who really killed him and then he'll just out of nowhere appear right next to them eating popcorn and say something that would be funny at the moment and then teleport away. Idk that's what I would do if i was god of mischief after all.
