Where is Hera when you need her?

This scene really illustrates Gorr's point in why he wanted to kill the gods so much. Zeus asks why people care so much more about superheroes over literal gods, but then says something like "People used to beg us for mercy without even knowing if we were actually listening". He says it so arrogantly and doesn't realize he answered his own question. Most of the gods of the MCU fail to see how much the world has changed and realize that the mortals of the universe desperately need their help like when Thanos did the snap. They blatantly ignore it while superheroes like the Avengers actively put their own lives on the line to protect the innocent and inspire good in people. Zeus admitted that he was genuinely afraid of Gorr and the necrosword and wanted to hide in order to not die, but fails to see that it's because of the bravery that superheroes have that makes them risk everything, that makes most mortals in the MCU idolize them more than the gods. And if Hercules actually succeeds in taking Thor down, it will only just give humanity even more reasons to think like Gorr.

You know what I love about this scene? "They just want to see one of their so-called super heroes. When did we become the joke?" Super heroes are the modern day mythologies/gods. They represent the good and bad of humanity, their struggles are lessons and tales for us to enjoy, hate, bemoan and learn from, just like the mythologies of old. Zeus, one of the pinnacles of old myths, talking about how his kind have fallen in the eyes of humanity and essentially replaced by super heroes speaks on so many levels inuniverse and irl. In my honest opinion, that's the biggest joke in the entire movie, the old gods don't matter anymore, they're relics of a bygone age, replaced by new people who don't need worship to save people.

Hercules vs Thor.... When Hercules enters the stadium all I want to hear is, "He's here, He's there, He's every F*cking where, ROY KENT".

While the movie does have its ups and downs,These two scenes were definently well executed. If another movie does happen i wanna see more from hercules

From Roy Kent to Hercules Amazing story

Love how well this nailed the hubris of the old gods, especially the Greek gods. Even in legend they were full of themselves and took joy in the suffering of mortals. It's his own hubris in this scene that blinds him to the answer of his own question.

In the original book of Hercules, the Amazon queen apparently fell in love with the son of Zeus before Hera possess/control the queen)

Your Wikipedia citation has nothing to do with this stupid-ass movie, friend. So nay, not really interesting. There's no connection between your incoherent rambling and this incoherent joke of a movie. I advise you read comics if you want to see the connection. Because comics, written by smart people who studied mythologies, unlike MCU's garbage-ass Thor, do give the definition to Marvel's Norse pantheon and the Greek one. Thor's biological mother is the personification of Mother Earth who bares the name of the Greek Mother Earth.

Roy Kent as Hercules will be friggin' epic. Also, they missed an opportunity to have Sif's arm in Valhalla.

I wish they had cast Jason Mamoa as Hercules. I know he has his commitments for DC as Aquaman, but with a tall build, rough looking face and the perfect physique and demeanor, i think Mamoa would have been great as Hercules. If not, they should bring someone like Dwayne Johnson (Hey, he already played Hercules, right), but that would overshadow nearly every character making Chris's Thor look like a cameo role in his own movie.

@@eddiecruz9683 I mean, when you have a movie with a budget larger than... Most people's life savings, you can get one detail correctly, also Hercules is roman.. Not Greek. But I suppose most won't care. But I do, it's such an easy detail to fix.

@@gabejones8112 I meant in the movie/ mcu they won't differentiate between Roman and Greek version of the character. He's just much more widely know by the Roman version of his name. Just like they won't call Zeus, Jupiter

I hope so Waititi being off the project will definitely help making a Thor movie that is not a glorified beer commercial To be honest, even Thor Ragnarok would probably be much better without Waititi Considering he was only the director, while script was written by 3 people other than him

@@Algojo Thor Ragnarok was needed for Thor’s character. Then he tried to replicate the same goofy storyline. Doesn’t fit after End Game. All the Spider-Man movies after end game have been serious. Dr Strange was serious, Eternals was serious, etc…. Thor doesn’t need to be a joke anymore. The best version of Thor was when he was serious in Infinity War

When I see the post-credits of this movie I literally cry because it appears the “heaven” and I can see Heimdall again, that scene reminded me like how my deceased relatives receive my relatives that die in heaven. And also reminds me the year of 2018, good times.

I have a theory that hercules isn't actually going after thor of his own free will, in both mythology and the comics hercules had been a hero since ancient times and was raised by humans, he isn't the type of person who'd just up and abandon mortals, unless he was made to, its said that hera (zeus' wife) causes hercules to go into a rage and kill his family (this happens in both Greek mythology and the comics) what if in the mcu that's changed to full on brainwashing, making hercules forget his life as a mortal, and in the 5th film its somehow undone, turning hercules back into the hero he used to be

Hercules is a hero in the comics and one of Thor's closest friends and allies. He's also one of the oldest and longest serving members of the Avengers. He's almost certainly going to switch sides.
