The Boston Bruins lost several players in free agency, most notably Jake DeBrusk, who signed a 7-year, $38.5M deal with the Vancouver Canucks. Locked on Boston Bruins host Ian McLaren is joined by Canucks reporter Thomas Drance (The Athletic, Sportsnet) to discuss where DeBrusk will fit with the Canucks, as well as why Vancouver also signed Danton Heinen and Derek Forbort.

I think you guys are going to like Lindholm and Zadorov. I don't think Lindholm is a top line centre, but he's good 2 way and is as close to a Bergeron replacement as there is right now, if that's even possible. Zadorov is what he is. He's big, physical, flashy and will be good for soundbites. As long as he's not overplayed or put in positions above what he's capable of, he'll be just fine. He can pass for a #4, I guess, but ideally, he's a #5.

Overpayment for a 2c/3c and a 5/6th defensive guy.
Speaking of putting a player in a bad spot. Lindholm is no Bergeron and if that's the expectations, he's in trouble.
Speaking of former Bruins moving to other teams...Greer, Boqvist and Nosek are now on the FLA roster.
Lindholm has an average of around 45 points per season. Hardly an elite scoring record. Bergeron was on another level. I think Lindholm is overpaid. Good on the D and faceoff's, but an elite scorer? No way. Big Z was fun but didn't really emerge until playoff time. After 10 years, it's hard to believe his NHL career is about to take off. A 20 point per season D man, who averages around 17 minutes. But, he does fit the Bruin mold, so maybe he'll turn into another Chara at age 29. But I'm not buying it.
