This Was Hard To Watch...

Спорт

This weekend at the Disc Golf Pro Tour, we got the Swedish Open and it was hard to watch specifically for US MPO players and one contender in FPO. The rest of the event and course was truly remarkable though

Silva is an absolute superstar. She'll be KT's competition real soon & she's adorable. Such a Beast with her putter. I root for Henna too.

I think it’s probably okay to accept that the European players, most of whom don’t travel to the states, are good, and it’s not just an American disc golf show. No worries at all with good American players finishing lower than expected.

Who is this for? There is no supposed American superiority here. Dont try to make everything political, omfg. Why would nationality matter at all? Calvin finishing 44th is weird because hes a top 5 player in the world, not because hes an AMERICAN BTW, an American WON so... yeah no idea what you're even trying to say.

@@macdietz did you listen tot he video? How do you get political out of anything I said? That makes no sense in any way whatsoever, but go ahead and get offended somehow. I’m only saying it’s okay to accept that the European players are getting better and better, so it’s unfair to say this win for Proctor has an asterisk.

Not sure why there should be an asterisk to James' win.... He played fantastic! And some awesome players were there.... He beat the tar out of them! No..... We can't put an asterisk here..

Gannon, Cole Redalen, the Robinson brothers and AB were all missing. That’s the asterisk.

I thoroughly enjoyed the event. The property looks magical. I only watched highlights after the 1st round. But I'll be watching the MDG post coverage for sure.

I'm glad that DGPT and the American DG community are starting to fully understand the popularity of Disc Golf in Europe. I strongly believe that DGPT would be in a better place if the US and EU tours were united. I'm basically calling for a significantly longer EU stint for the US tour, instead of 2 separate tours. This would make the tour easier to approach for EU players and far more appealing for EU viewers, both of which have been underestimated by the looks of it.

"Sure we didn't get the best quality of disc golfers over the weekend... But we had some great players there, even if they didn't play great..." C'mon, don't take credit away from the many great European players there. If the "greats" didn't perform well in Europe, it could be that there are better players than them... Only they don't get the media attention and exposure their North American counterparts get.

I think if we did an a Ryder Cup of sorts for disc golf it would be fun as hell. I also believe team USA would win quite convincingly. Let's not pretend that the best golfers aren't over here in the states. With that said it was awesome getting to see the awesome young talent from Europe that haven't made their names on the American tour yet

The best fans and courses are in Europe. The best players are, without question, in the states

“Preserved for a better use than disc golf”?!?! Brother, you might need to make a nature channel or something besides disc golf. Courses like this are the dream, don’t be giving detractors ammunition to pull the plug!

Yeah. That was silly. Sweden and Finland are the most forested western countries in the world. They're covered by forest like this for more than 2/3 their area - and you have freedom to roam there. Finland has over 1000 and Sweden has over 700 disc golf courses and most of them are just like this, maybe not so fine but practically the same. Almost all are free to play - private courses are rare - because the municipal authorities understand that people doing some sort of physical exercise gives more back than money and taxes ever could - and kids will also have something fun and meaningful to do instead of vandalism and substances. Welcome for a holiday.

Do they allow trans m2f to compete in the fpo women's division in Sweden? Asking for a friend. 🤔

Obviously, they do. Like in any sport, including the Olympics. Seems the US is less aware of LGBT+ issues in general.

@tipiirai is not obvious, and not the Olympics, and I'm pretty sure the uS is very much fully aware of Trans "issues."

Sweden I believe is one of the more “open” countries in EU. I googled it. The one thing I’m curious about is that DGPT is a private tour ran with PDGA USA. DGPT is working with the EuroTour to put on these events, I think these have to fall into international law within the host country. NR being the only Trans disc golfer in the world I know of…
