Classical music translates so well to metal, doesn't it? What a composition an arrangement. What's great about Galneryus is that they write a lot of bright, major-key pieces; they just have an epic, feel-good quality that makes me wanna don my superhero cape. "The Promised Flag" also from the Angel of Salvation album ,is one of my faves.

Galneryus is astounding. I don't rank musicians or anything, but if I'm starting a band and need two guitarists, Syu of Galneryus and Hal-Ca of Asterism are my dream team.

Big power metal fan here, and listening Galneryus since 2007 or so. Many other bands lose their touch after a while, but they just constantly keep getting better and better, even though they already started out strong. Very underrated band, probably cause they are not from Europe or USA.

Classic Galneryus, very underrated band! Yes, they did anime songs such as HUNTING FOR YOUR DREAM, A FAR-OFF DISTANCE etc, the vocalist Masatoshi Ono also known as "SHO" is a beast (Angel of Salvation is like very easy game for him, you haven't seen anything yet) and very well known in Japan no wonder the best of his time period, he also did the best Japanese ballads ever (You're the Only ・・・ & MOON TEARS etc) having his solo career just before he entered Galneryus in 2009 as a guest after the former member & vocalist YAMA-B left (another great vocalist), but he came to stay and make Galneryus his home and from there he also did Departure from the anime HxH alongside HUNTING FOR YOUR DREAM (he is a songwriter and vocal coach, he & Syu compose together as well as the pianist Yuhki) and also credited for other anime related songs like MURAMASA & covers such as Ai wo torimodose from the band Crystal King. Some incredible songs I suggest reacting by Galneryus: THE DAY OF RETRIBUTION, RISE UP, NO MORE TEARS, WINNING THE HONOR, TEAR OFF YOUR CHAIN, SPIRIT OF STEEL, STAND UP FOR THE RIGHT, Struggle for the freedom flag, LAST NEW SONG, Never Again & Quiet wish. Sorry if I wrote a lot I'm just a big fan of this band lol (I love them as much as BABYMETAL). I can provide links to high quality video of the lives if you wish.

This is awesome! I've heard a good handful of Galneryus songs, but this might have to go on the list! I'd definitely give "Destiny" a spin soon. The guitar solos in that one just punch you right in the soul, in the best kind of way. Crazy how unknown this band is outside of Japan.

Galneryus has done heaps of amazing songs also for the first half of the band they had a different vocalist YAMA-B and their style evolves and changes throughout the years. So some good songs I would recommend are the force of courage, raise my sword, angel of salvation, brutal spiral of emotions, whatever it takes (raise our hands), T.F.F.B, destiny, hunting for your dream, ultimate sacrifice, everlasting, whisper in the red sky, struggle for the freedom flag, united flag, the flag of reincarnation, and chasing the wind.

The base of this song - Tchaikovsky in D major Op. 35 is considered an extremely technical piece. As a power metal band, they won’t allow themselves to lose to the original piece in terms of technicality. Many metal musicians are classically trained because they seek to improve in originality but not giving up the skills so they can shove it up the classical snob’s ass. For that reason alone, they have to be technical. If you like classical music, you should have no grounds to be hating on skills imo because the reason why classical snobs exist in the first place is because these people think all other music are trash mainly due to their lack of technical competency compared to classical.

Outside of those, I recommend "Raise My Sword", "Force Of Courage", "Destiny", "Brutal Spiral Of Emotion", "Ultimate Sacrifice", "My Hope Is Gone", & "The End Of The Line". With all of those, I'd say stick to the live versions, especially with Ultimate Sacrifice (the MV fades out mid guitar solo. Worst editing decision ever).
