What a great legend. Louis Armstrong was an American trumpeter & vocalist going back to the 20's-60's. His career spanned five decades & he is considered one of the most influential figures in jazz. He was known for his gravelly raspy deep voice & he was good at scat singing. Love his version of "Hello Dolly" from the movie with the same name starring Barbra Streisand in 1969.

When he was dying of cancer, when people would ask him if he was mad that he was reaching the end he would say, "I've seen my children grow to good people, I've held all my grandchildren in my arms, and my wife is well provided for. He performed for many American Presidents, the Queen of England, was inducted in to the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the New Orleans's main airport was renamed Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, his early jazz recordings have been preserved in the Library of Congress and in 1995 a U.S. postage stamp with his picture playing his legendary trumpet was issued honoring American Jazz composer, trumpeter, and singer Louis Armstrong.

What a fantastically wonderful song. It has been in quite a few movies. 😍
It was in the Robin Williams movie Good Morning Vietnam during the war montage
This song should be mandatory for adults! ❤
He always ends his songs with his signature "Oh, Yeah". I've been listening to Satchmo since I'm 3 years old, 1951. Somewhere on KZread that is a video of him singing with the late great Mahalia Jackson.
Louis Armstrong had a character that you could not help but love. While people loved to hear him sing, his particular talent was Dixieland style jazz trumpet. He was a genius. Try listening to "Potato Head Blues," "West End Blues," or "When the Saints Go Marching In." for examples.
Louis Armstrong changed the way people sing.
Thank u so much for that. I could hear him sing and play all day long.
The one and only! Glad you discovered him!
This beautiful song was in Good Morning Vietnam with the amazing Robin Williams. Israel Kamakawiwawo’ole from Hawaii sang his own version that has been used in many movies as well. So glad to see people appreciate this classic!
this song was in "Good Morning Vietnam" Louis was a gift from heaven type performer. And as a professional player IMO the best trumpeteer that ever lived. Even better than Maynard Ferguson
One of my most favorite songs
This is a older Louis Armstrong also a great song, you should check out his younger side also try his gospel side as well. The song was featured in the movie "GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM"
This is the most famous version of this song and so many people who were born after he passed away will only get to know this wonderful artist through his recordings he was also a fabulous trumpet player as you can see in this video he’s holding his trumpet you need to listen to his trumpet playing and yes they did use bits and pieces of this song and sometimes the entire songIn many different movies over the decades
The movie was Good Morning Vietnam. Song was also sung by muppets. The song was the theme song for the television program Family Matters.
I recommend checking out the duo work of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald...pure GOLD!
What a kid... In 1959 I was a big Louie Armstrong fan. Him and Jimmy Durante. "That's no banana... that's my nose...!!!"
Gotta here this! Louis Armstrong & Kenny G on Soprano Sax! best rendition of this song!
Yeah man! couldn't miss it! Lot's of movies and commercials.! Beautiful song.
This song has been everywhere.
Always loved Sachmo. The New Orleans international airport is named after the master Louis Armstrong
This song was featured in Robin Williams's film called "Good Morning Viet Nam" A wonderfully mastered film.
The way he sounds when his final note is falling off, I love it. I’m sorry I don’t know what to call it besides that
A tremendous trumpet player. Dixie jazz.
