While watching this build progress, I started thinking this car belongs at SEMA. No idea how to get a car in, the cost, etc. but it would sure be great for the channel. The meticulous planning and execution of this build is fascinating to watch but also recognizing the amount of thought and research that had to go into this project is mind boggling. An incredible amount of time and perseverance. I appreciate all that you do to allow us to follow along. Best KZreadr period.

I believe you have to be invited to be in the SEMA show, and the car has to be wildly well done to be in a pavilion (you could show outside, but that appears to be akin to the "cheap seats").

SEMA is a circus that doesn't benefit the builders hardly at all. The impact on her channel would be tiny, if anything. This car would get way more appreciation somewhere like JCCS or similar. As someone who has been to SEMA many times, and had a few cars in the show - it isn't worth the effort.

This car deserves an in-depth build series of videos. Oh...wait! 😂❤😊
You were saying about having all the fittings terminate at the same point? Don't. They pile up! Make 'em all (if possible) staggered, it's SO much easier to put a wrench on them. And the stack ends up skinnier.
@Sabe53

Yes they do, been there done that. AN fittings are nice but are pricey for what they are. Yea I'd keep the brake booster just for how this thing should run.

In my work as a vacuum chamber technician I installed miles of copper and stainless steel tubing. Never had a chance to work with CuNi. It looks like it is light years better than either! And I never had a flare tool like Sarah’s either! Just the standard $9.99 from Harbor Freight flare tool. Hughes Aircraft/GM/Boeing (three companies: one office over 20 years) didn’t go in for the best quality tools.

Been 6 moths since I watched and your videos are SO CLEAN AND FUN. You are a top tier content maker. Be proud girl.
I hope you get this car to shows, autocross, drag racing, power tour, etc. When you are done with this project, you need to take some time to enjoy your work. I would make for some great content, and, I hope you get an article in Hot Rod, because you surely deserve it.
Literally can't think of anything hotter than Sarah in a pantera shirt. Dear lord why am I not closer?! P.S. you are awesome Sarah! I have been watching your videos for several years now and am glad to see youre not selling out.
I owe you an apology… I should be on the street screaming about your KZread channel with a sign… yet I selfishly only tell people that should be interested based on their interests in excellence or real interests in cars. Yes, in that order. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you ever day of your Celica build. Love it.

@@anthonycarty9433 - The GT6 is *way* smaller than the Celica. I still can't explain how I managed to fold my 6'2" body into the one I owned. You have so much awe in your awesome without being awful. Thank you Sarah for taking the long way around and showing the right way, you rock girl.
Hands down the best build on KZread right now. The attention to detail and the comedy are gold. Has a flair of BOM / Binky but this car should be done in less than 12 years. Love these videos and how granular you get with all the details.

😮 The two hard plumbed lines for your throw-out bearing 🏁 are the work of a highly skilled aircraft technician 💪
If you can mount a board vertically somewhere on a bench and drill a hole the same diameter or just a bit wider than the tubing, drawing the tube through the hole should give you a fairly straight tube to work with.
Fraggle rock ferrets!
Thanks! Seriously nice work
I am in awe of the English gymnastics that got you to the ‘par for the course’ bit. Bravo.
The best thing about digital calipers is being able to measure something like your stick or your level and reset them to zero so that you get an actual measurement, but I appreciate you doing the math on camera!

You put Rick Flare, in it ! LOL Nice touch.
Wow! I was a bit skeptical when you said you wanted to put that pickup truck motor in that classic Celica. Yeah, I understood your reasoning and I thought it was a great idea, but I really wasn't sure it was even possible. This has become a REAL project and it's really looking like it's gonna happen! Perfectionism? It's the only way to do ANY of this. If it was stock parts on a completely stock car you could get away with playing fast and loose with some things. But the whole idea of this project is completely off the wall so everything HAS to be just right if it's really gonna work. Go! Go! Go! I don't think anyone but you could pull this off, and it's a delight watching you do it.
I’m a ‘person of the world’ - and sometimes I watch ‘car related content on the internet’ I also watch ‘other’ non car related content on the internet I can confirm that watching car related content is far less messy and gets you into less trouble with your mum

Wait...a Beck "loser" reference ? LMAOO. Thats gold, and we're old.

It is awesome to see your work to make the manual transmission work. Most people would have probably given up and went with an automatic.
OK, when you start walking backwards and talking to your hand then it's time for a break, it's amazing how you have each step planned out in your head, whenever I do that all I get is headaches!
John n Tuned here my Celica was a 75 GT w a 22R, 5 speed, 7up can green and a white vinel top... never got a smallblock chevy squeezed in like I wanted
The box of parts is very cool and looks to solve a bunch of problems. TTT to the rescue.
We use that brake line in the shop all of the time. Ram trucks were notorious for that long line running to the back rusting out. I would have customers calling all the time wanting the OEM line. I tell them to save time and money by getting that stuff. Our techs like it because it so easy to use and they knock out that repair in no time.
Brakes with no booster just means more time getting the size of the pistons right to ensure the pedal can be pressed with reasonable force, along with having a lot more feedback in to the toes when using them. If you really need to, there's Remote Boosters, it's more hydraulic line plumbing, but you can shift the booster around to an easier to fit location.
Tip Don’t mount the booster directly to the firewall. There are numerous factory examples of offset brackets used to joggle boosters away from oversized engines in small engine bays. BMW have done a few, especially on right hand dive vehicles. If you’ve seen Project Binky a little bent metal can be made to look like a factory solution.

Charlie is going to do that today for me actually.
Sarah, I suggest you reconsider that brake master cylinder mount, it should be offset away from the engine for spark plug access and hopefully to prevent the master cylinder and booster from getting too hot from engine/exhaust heat. That vacuum booster may also be a bad idea with your "cammed" engine, you may not have enough manifold vacuum for the booster to be effective.
Angel food is so lucky to get to work with you !!!
A nightmare to do, but the end result was very well, worth it.
Oof.. mathing on a Sunday is hurting my brain. Keep up the great work Sarah.
For reference; Lisle offers very nice tube bending pliers that are exceptional for bending 3/16 & 1/4 lines including tight radii. $30~
When that engine starts, I bet I'll cry.
TRUST THE PROCESS! (Sarah -n- Saban) Using the Process! Yessir!
Never give up ! Keep fighting and it will become a masterpiece !
I enjoy all of the builds, even the wiring ! I would also be neurotic about keeping it original, and keeping it clean, so much respect for that. When I was a kid, my father's friend had this exact car, same color, same interior, same model. Riding in the back seat even as a 12 year old in 1974 was not fun though!
You are an absolute STAR. Love watching all of your video because of the way you work your solutions. Engineering is so logical but so many miss the point completely. Andy...
I love working with cupro-nickel. It flares easy, bends easier, and is impressively corrosion resistant. I use nothing else for brake and transmission cooler lines. For fuel lines, nylon-2 works wonders. FMSI sells everything fuel related - nylon line, adapters, quick connects, etc. It's a fraction of the cost of AN fittings, easier to fashion compared to metal lines, and tolerates vibration better.
Thank goodness you have an Angel to help keep you sane. Another amazing video of determination to get the job done.

I love this series. Cool to see how complete of a job you're doing. I can't wait to see this thing in action.
Having fabricated a few er "custom parts" on my own airplane, I can tell you that AN equivalent fittings can be had for much cheaper from your local hydraulics shoppe. These are called JIC fittings and come with the same 37 deg seat angle the AN's. The only difference is they are made from steel which is super handy when you want something custom without having 19 fittings screwed together.. You just lop the ends off that you want and weld them back together..:). You should have seen my custom fuel system!
