@Cath L I think there're couple possible explanations for the behaviour 1. Crippling low esteem. The kind of anxiety which makes you think everyone hates you 2. Crippling high narcissism. You think that partner belongs to you and the very idea of them cheating is unbearable 3. Maybe they just wanted to break up and (consciously or not) they were looking for an excuse Nonetheless if someone breaks up with you for this reason then you can only be happy for avoiding the bullet

And I’m not a student of hers, however I grew up in the panhandle of Idaho. I vaguely knew some of the murder victims by going to the same highschool, their families from a few mutual events in the past, and knew people who worked to get the real killer- and it constantly is disgusting to me that people who hear I’m from the area try to talk to me about the murders like it’s something cool. I see people make tik-toks pretending to talk to the dead victims and someone say it is the most eventful thing to happen is Idaho. It’s disgusting and sad. This isn’t want I want people thinking about when they think of my home state. And it’s heart retching. The amount of disrespect our nation’s people has shown about this case is beyond disappointing

You hit the nail on the head early on in the video with" these people need to feel special". That's exactly what the flat earther community is, or the Q Anon community, they feel like they are in on something that others aren't and that makes them feel special or that they are a part of something. Most of the people in them probably didn't really have many interests or much of a personality before it so they go all in on it because they have nothing else, it's pretty sad honestly and since they don't have anything else they refuse to believe that the thing they love and believe in is a lie.

This not only keeps the suspect safe from a lot of speculation surrounding their role in the case, but also keeps the investigators from using their biases. The most key part of Forensics is looking at the facts. You can't just say "The suspect is guilty because I just have a feeling." because you get *one shot* at proving a suspect guilty in a court of law. If I come forward and accuse someone of *any* crime, ESPECIALLY MURDER, I want evidence that proves it beyond a reasonable doubt and with 110% certainty or else my character, my professionalism, and even my career is called into question. This woman getting sued for what she did is a sneak peek into what happens when you do an investigation wrong. She's lucky she didn't appear in court, she'd get laughed out when she brings out the Tarot deck and tries to volunteer herself as a "spiritual witness"

Seems like she's trying to throw us off her trail. The tarot cards came back, and I pulled the MURDERER card when thinking of Ashley committing this crime. So your hunch was correct. We need to start making tiktoks about this ASAP! You should see if you have any psychic abilities with a crazy correct hunch like that. 🤔 Good job on solving the case. One of my favorite things she's said was along the lines of "If they had all this evidence why didn't they release it sooner?" It's not uncommon for them to not release all details or all they know, especially if they haven't identified a suspect or haven't questioned them yet. Has she never seen an interrogation recording where they let the suspect go on about everything before telling them "btw, we have your dna at the crime scene". It gives them an upper hand during questioning and can draw the suspect into a false sense of security thinking they didn't find anything.

Well, its not for the false sense of security, it is to get their potential alibi. There can be many good reasons why someone's DNA is at a crime scene, there can be many good reasons why the murder weapon had their fingerprints on it. Heck, there are even reasons where both the murder weapon has finger prints of the suspect, the crime scene looking like a rape having escalated to murder and the suspect's genetic material found on the victim, but the suspect being innocent. They could have been into heavy bondage and sadomasochism to the point of the dominating party leaving the house for an actual day, leaving their extremely submissive partner tied to the bed. But the actual murder happening 3 hours later. Not really information you'd be sharing, especially if you dont know your partner is dead. It's not really relevant information untill later.

Cold reading + confirmation bias is such a deadly duo when it comes to tarot, astrology, and other pseudoscientific stuff. I have met someone who already got contradicting tarot readings from 2 decks they bought on amazon and still did the mental gymnastics that a trickster spirit is fucking with them. It's so easy to fit many meanings onto vague readings, but they still trust it just cause the one narrative they shoehorned fits. As if a deck of less than 100 cards can prevail in a certain permutation to narrow down one in 7+ billion people. I don't find issues with Tarot itself. Some people use it as a method of self-reflection, learning more about themselves depending on what first comes to their mind when they see cards (like a Rorscach test if you will). What really irks me is people not being aware how susceptible they are to cold reading, confirmation bias, and other logical fallacies is what really irks me because good people can spiral into making really harmful beliefs.
@non_brewed_condiment Жыл бұрын
What Charlie said about people not being able to admit they're wrong is dead on. It's more than just them being wrong, so many people live pretty boring, mundane lives but then they find this thing that's like "oh my god, everyone else is wrong and I'm the main character" so regardless of how much proof they're given that whatever they believe in is wrong they are completely unwilling to let go of what they view as the most interesting part of their life (or even identity).

If she has children I feel so bad for them. Not only because of the embarrassment, I imagine this irrationality is present in every aspect of her life. She’s probably punished her kids because she “had a dream” or “a premonition” that they did something wrong even with proof of the contrary. It’s incredibly scary to think about how far this kind of delusion usually goes, she seriously needs professional help

The most ironic thing about this comment is how you're attempting to criticise the psycho Ashley for creating an entire scenario which is merely pulled it out of her ass, by pulling a scenario out of your own. There's enough crazy shit to pick at in this story. Why you felt the need to weave your own threads is dodgy. How 87 people read your comment and went: 'Yup, this makes sense' is baffling.

TikTok really makes people try to get the Any% Speedrun World Record in ruining their lives. Like damn. This is so awful. Imagine losing someone you love to a murder of all things, and finally getting justice when the killer gets caught, but no, then you have to hear this woman try to blame some other person who's totally innocent. Like nobody should have to deal with that. You have to then hear about this situation for much longer. I hope she faces the consequences for her actions. Truly deplorable, awful shit (as Charlie would say). People really don't understand that this is real life it seems like. I feel bad for those families, like seriously. I hope they're doing okay.

As someone studying Forensics and trying to be an investigator, this shit scares the hell out of me Accusing someone of murder alone completely fucks up their life, that's why police and detectives are so incredibly careful at accusing someone unless they have a pretty good picture of who it is.

@Predated2
Жыл бұрын
I live in Idaho; I was in the kitchen with my mother when she told me her classes were cancelled for that day because of four murders on the University of Idaho northern canvas (she's in the southern one near lower Idaho, not the one in Moscow, thankfully, but it was still terrifying to hear that she could have been there). Seeing it on the news so much nowadays is so wild. Especially with _this._ This is so insanely disrespectful to the victims, their loved ones, and the community of Idaho. This is a shame.

Man, I really can't believe she doubled down. She played Russian Roulette with a full cylinder. She's even opening herself up to a lawsuit from the Police Department too at this point.

honestly, i kinda find the whole thing sad . if she truly believes in her "visions" and not just playing a character, It's likely that she's having a schizophrenic episode. I've seen it happen before. Some people literally can't tell the difference between delusions/hallucinations from reality at times. So if and when she gets sued, she could get evaluated by a professional. her lawyers could then use that to somewhat reduce the severity of the punishment.

@@dysfunctionalkidney5774 that's really her only hope is some sort of mental disorder. Even then, she had literally thousands of people screaming at her to stop and reevaluate, and she didn't, so I don't see too much leniency coming her way. Even if a psych agrees she has an untreated disorder, she obviously functions well enough in society to have gotten this far in life, which shows a sign of knowing how to control yourself, meaning that a mental disorder may not even be seen as an excuse to the courts. I'm pretty sure they're not gonna go easy on her regardless, is all I'm basically trying to say.

Ashley being the killer would be a crazy plot twist

I know Charlie was joking about the psychic detective being the murderer because she didn't specifically deny it, but imagine if that were actually true and he was accidentally completely correct.
She reminds me of one of those people who listen to true crime podcasts, where they use some minor technical detail to assume that the murderer in jail is actually innocent.
For a psychic, she sure didn't see the lawsuit coming.

I hope they're doing okay.
most people keep madness like this up because they're deathly afraid of being wrong, even if they know they are. Ashley, however, seems to actually believe that she is right and that they're hiding the truth. Zero self awareness whatsoever. Genuine insanity.
I am a student at Washington State University, the school where Bryan Kohberger went to. We are disgusted that this guy was on our campus. My roommate literally had the guy as his TA last semester. As a community we are so very sorry that this guy came from us. Ashley not even caring that she is ruining the life of Rebecca just makes me sad that she doesn’t even acknowledge that she is in the wrong.

Its horrifying to think of someone like him attending the same place as you, I honestly have no idea how despite everything she's still trying to paint Rebecca as the killer. You don't just accuse someone of murder, that's an accusation that can stay with and ruin the rest of someone's life, theres a reason people who work with law will only do so if they have strong enough evidence to tie the suspect to. Not to mention that tarot isn't even meant to be used this way. She's making a mockery of something that people genuinely believe in by using it as such.
