I just got back in to the hobby after about 10 years. Finally bought some upgrades for my stock SCX10 Honcho while you guys are getting the 3rd version. Scale RC certainly has gotten better after all these years.

Looks pretty cool! Buggy and onroad racing since the 80's , I've recently purchased a Baja Rey just because of the realism. And I think you guys will have a huge market for realistic affordable kits or rtr!

Kit is fun to build just finished mine.....

Looks like they got their hidden body clip idea from the Gmade GS02 Komodo Double Cab. I might get a 10.3 in the future but, I'll probably not use the dig. I had a truck with a dig in the past and I hardly ever used it.

Wow dude rc crawlers have come so long in the past 5-6 years dude i remember being 10 and modding the crap out of my scx 10 and when i was 12 i had a 3d printer and i made my own mounts and stuff and i even made "a long arm kit" and did a triangulated setup,but damn man i just cant believe how far along the scaleness has come i still got my scx10 but its just collecting dust and welp i really cant afford a new motor both on my scx10 and my heavily modified traxxas rustler (it looks good and not like a pile of cheap junk that was modded with bad taste in how it looks)

I really want to build on of these to look like my real Jeep. I have those exact tires too. LOL! Only I have a 2012 JK Unlimited....looking around for a body kit that matches well.

If they only added locking diffs as well I'm sure it would have been the best crawler for a long long time

Congrats Joe! The truck comes equipped with dig and a 2-speed. Each function requires it's own SX107 servo to operate. -Brett

Excellent review! Axial still has a way to go before catching up to Traxxas TRX-4. Dig function is nice for strickly rock crawling, but for most of us, front and rear wheel locking and two speeds is more practical.

Cool! Would this be good for pulling a Traxxas Spartan boat? I would like my first crawler hoping for a double bonus.

That's a good question but I do not know. I don't think you can just swap them over easily. It would probably require some modifications, and probably additional parts. With the motor so far forward, the II servo mount may not work, and the II battery placement would have to be moved to the back like the III. And you would need the III skid plate which may not directly bolt up to the II rails. And the front transmission output is off center on the III, but the axle is not equally off center, so that would be an extreme axle angle. It would be a lot of work, and expensive to find out. -Brett

@@AMain_Hobbies it would be beautiful if it would work i m building a landrover defender 110 pick up body for my ii but the transmission case is in the way so that i had to do a cutout on the bed With the iii transmission i wouldnt have that issue and the battery could lay in a aluminium like box in the back so that its quickly accessible. The whole body i would bolt on even if its discusting for maintenance, its more beautifull than clips and stronger than magnets

I am SOOOOOOOOO torn. Do I get it now? Do I wait (at least) a few months? Or do I skip it? I still have a Trail King Pro I haven't finished, plus a TF2 I haven't even started. Decisions, decisions.

I have a somewhat-strong feeling I'll not only get the SCX10.3, but it will be 'sooner', rather than 'later'...NOT that I've already ordered it (I haven't), but it just became the most likely candidate for a 329mm wheelbase project I've been considering.

@@AMain_Hobbies I currently have HH 550 Trailmaster in my Redcat but if I buy the SCX10 iii Im thinking brushless, Ive heard really good stuff about the axe as you mentioned but i wouldn't know what size for the SCX10. I almost went with the axe for my gen 8 scout I believe it was the 3300kv I was gonna buy. would the 3300 fit the axial or know? would you recommend mamba x with a different sensored brushless motor over the axe set up. I know with the Axe esc/motor your limited & cant split them up?

This car reminds me of the g-made Komodo with that under side body clip fetcher

it looks so bad when the rear tires are rubbing against the fenders....

Does it come with a battery and charger? Just bought mine from you guys! Can’t wait

No sadly. Since it's a kit, you must supply the battery and charger, as well as the other electronic components. Congrats on getting the truck though, it looks like a fun build. -Brett

I'm just in the minority ... not a fan of 4 door Wranglers. Would have preferred that if they had to use a Jeep product they would have gone with Honcho or Comanche. The tech is very nice.

Pro-Line gave that to us at Axialfest years back. Not sure if they had them made or bought them somewhere. I think they were selling them at one point but that was a few years ago. It's very heavy, so I imagine shipping was expensive. You should shoot them an email, maybe they still have some? -Brett
