    I've been in this hobby over 40 years there was no such thing as RTR back in the day you built everything which is actually a good thing if you need to work on your vehicle you know how it went together I built quite a few, Team Associated had really nice kits back then, and the reward was how nice they ran and knowing you put it together

    I'm glad to see a fresh ground up new truck from them, and not just another rehash of the aging older platform, I'm definitely interested to see if they are setting this up for a portal less version and what size tire combo will fit it

  • @TheRCNetwork

    @TheRCNetwork

    4 жыл бұрын

    They've already mentioned the capability of a portal-less drivetrain - most 1.9" wheels will fit - the JLU body is ideal . for the 4.75" Nittos, so basically anything 1.9" will work. The stock wheels seem to be about 225SLW size

    Thanks buddy! It's not as bad as it looks - a power drive is the key (with a clutch) . I'm sure the RTR will be released soon - likely that Blue that the shops have and maybe a silver? Axial always releases the clear body set - but usually a few months after the main releases. It will be expensive though, as they have to include all of the parts in that second to last bag I hadn't opened

    Laughed when you were talking about stuffing up Rich. I’m building the Tamiya Sand Scorcher and I’m tired, and same as you making mistakes. Getting towards the hard plastic stuff now, where it is gluing, painting etc. so I do have to stop for the night which is a good thing. As I look at the rear wheel and tyre on one side, the tread is facing the wrong way. And those suckers took forever to get the centre in the edge of the tyre without the five 10x2mm screws and matching nuts. Tomorrow’s job! Goodnight and thanks for the build review 👍🤓🇦🇺

  • @TheRCNetwork

    @TheRCNetwork

    4 жыл бұрын

    Brushed motors are famous for their low end torque and smooth start up, not much top end speed (depending on turns). Sensorless Brushless systems have torque and top end speed (depending on kv), but not a smooth start up - when you add a sensored brushless set up, you get all three worlds - smooth start up (being sensored), torque and top end speed (depending on kv)

    If we base what we know from the Capra - likely 2 months or so for the RTR - price will be pretty high though, as the Capra did include the dig, servo, etc

    the transmission alone will be very labor intensive - I bet the RTR is going to be on the plus side of 500 easily, especially if they include the two speed and dig features...

    Did you get the RTR? I just got mine. My first since my Associated RC10 nearly 40 years ago!! No way was I interested in building this one. It's an awesome rig and very capable with my biggest complaint being that the shocks leak and were pretty much flat right out of the box. They're pretty good feeling shocks with oil in them but the mod bug hit already a day after arrival and today, my Pro-line shocks will be here. I don't want to chase the known leaker issue. I'm running DIG and it's a great feature, IMO. The 2 speed is supposedly too close in ratio to be worth adding a servo. Maybe when I wear out the motor and replace the electronics package I'll give a try.

    Come on Axial. It's a Jeep aka MOPAR . No one in their right mind in the one to one world would put an LS into a Jeep . Infact the engine this rig comes with is a GEN3 Hemi. That is the molded engine that this kit should have. If it was a bronco put a molded cyotee or 351 an if it's GM then put that garbage LS or small block Chevy into it.

    I didn't have to tap them, although Horizon Hobbies/Axial recommends this. The Panhard mount/driver side shock tower is also an issue is you run a decent servo....it will end up breaking
