This Televangelist Has Gone TOO FAR...

Kenneth Copeland and Televangelists like him have recently become a mainstream meme as their preaching's and tangents have gone viral. But, are televangelists more dangerous than cringe? In this video I analyze the concerning aspects of Kenneth Copeland and other televangelists- the donations they solicit and who they solicit donations from, the lavish lifestyles and dangerous teachings they provide, to examine just how dangerous televangelists really are.

@@Neku628 yes, often televangelists use it in the context of donating this 10% to their organization, though I’ve also seen televangelists ask for a tithe of $1,000 ignoring the 10% part

@@cruelworldhappymind that's pretty scummy. Ten percent can be pretty vague depending on who Copeland is swindling from. And that poor widow in that verse was in poverty, so I don't know why she needed to give if her last coins that she was clinging to but that aside. Also, I noticed that couple who said that they donated over $8,000 dollars to Copeland's ministries. I think percent of that would be like $837 something, not quite nearly a thousand dollars but that's no chunk change.

Hi Madison, my name is Vincent and I was raised a Christian. Kenneth Copland is an evil scam artist. If there is a hell, most likely he is going there. People at Church hate me because I ask the same kind of questions that you do, only I memorized most of the Bible, so I ask non stop questions about things that just don't make any logical sense. Unlike most of my Christian Brotheren I did over 10 years of research into History, and science. And I know that this going to sound hard to believe but in the 40,000 hours of information that I have reviewed I found some compelling scientific evidence that GOD exist. But I need to be clear about this just because there is a Creator, that doesn't automatically mean that the GOD of the Bible is that Creator. 1 step at a time First we must prove wrong the theory of evolution, then we can discuss if there is a Creator, and then go down the rabbit hole of who or what that Creator is. People at Church don't like to see proof, that's why they hate me, because I want to see real evidence to support all these outrageous claims. Would any of you like to see real scientific evidence that a Creator exists? Yes?

I see the devil when I look at those eyes and the shape of his whole face.. Did I see horns on his head when he pointed his twisted fingers at the young lady interviewing him? My dad's a preacher and he's 85, we almost lost him. He did die but they got him back, he said he heard us praying and was disappointed because he was sent back and was in so much pain. His heart was completely blocked but the doctors got all but 1 unblocked and without open heart surgery. He is doing so good and back to preaching and his working in his furniture repair shop behind his single wide trailer.. He was working at the nursing home as the maintenance man. So he's not doing it for the money. The people that go to his church, they call him preacher man. I heard more than once, he still had work to do, so God wasn't done with him yet.. He told us he seen all of Jesus except his face but the colors are amazing. He said he didn't know how to explain what he saw. But he said the leaves on this tree was so green.. The brightest green ever and could we guess what was growing on this tree. He said he KNEW this was his very own tree. Daddy's tree grew chocolate kisses, my siblings and I busted out laughing because Daddy was still in pain and he had to whisper cause his throat was so sore. He told us when mom would go into the ICU and she would call our youngest sister's phone and we all would meet in the hospital parking lot to face time so he could see us and we see him. Daddy's had to lay 3 of his daughters to rest. The last 2 was a week apart and the first was his baby girl. They lay side by side so we can visit all three at one time, but it about broke his heart.. Three months later we almost lost him. He is the glue that holds us together.. He had 10 children and we all felt our father's love, we all got/ get birthday and Christmas cards every year and Daddy writes them himself... By the way 9 girls and 1 boy and he was born 2nd.. Don't feel sorry for him, cause he will tell everyone, he knows how to treat a lady... With 9 sisters.. I know his wife is a beautiful women.. Was he just lost her when Daddy was in the hospital.. If you know God is real, pray for our family and thank you in advance...

I majored in English and love language. Listen to Kenneth Copeland without paying much attention to his message. The man is a master of pacing, of rhythm, of vocabulary. He speeds up, he slows down, he slams to a stop. We sit fascinated, waiting to hear what will happen next. And few of his listeners are sophisticated enough to realize that his pacing is more impressive than his message.

I couldn’t “talk in tongues” and was told I just hadn’t believed hard enough. We were always poor but believing for God to make us rich. Took me MANY years to unpack it all. Watching so many years later I feel sorry for little childhood me. 😢

You have so much insight with this video. I wish televangelists were banned since they're really nothing but con artists who prey and exploit their followers. Throughout the video, I can remember my mom really into them. Especially Pat Robertson (omg, she'd donate everything to the 700 Club and all she got was a stupid pin). When I was super young (maybe 6 or 7), we drove a long way to see one of these televangelists (I don't remember who though) because she wanted a healing done on me because I wore glasses. The televangelist did that whole mumbojumbo talk and asked if I was healed. There were staff there nearby too, and they resembled bouncers at a bar, and they were looking at us. I didn't want my mom in trouble because they gave this glare at us, so I lied and said that I was healed. I kept my glasses off for the rest of the time there, but I put them back on afterwards. Still needing to wear them to this day. Good ending to this though--I eventually grew up finding no fault in needing glasses, like I don't view it as some fatal disease or deformity. As for my mom, unfortunately, her blind faith in these scammers would end up killing her. She ended up having aggressive colon cancer back in mid-2000s. When doctors told her not much could be done, she turned to her favored televangelists for comfort. They would tell her that they'd do televised prayers only if she paid a certain amount of money. We didn't even have much to begin with, but she still prioritized on paying them for this shout-out. I think so much as applying for a second mortgage on our house to give it! And this prayer was all just "The cancer is now gone from your body! God has taken it all away! He gave me the power to completely heal you from this demonic disease! And it is gone!" And my mom would actually start crying uncontrollably on her knees in front of the TV. These monsters basically fed on her fear of dying as an opportunity to squeeze another stupid penny into their pockets! Needless to say, the cancer didn't go away, and instead it got so bad that my mom ended up in hospice care. She passed about a week later. I'll never see them in a positive light after all that. And I pity those who're so strongly bound to them and I hope they'll soon see who they truly are. I'm really sorry for such a sad bit there, but I just want to vouch for how much BS televangelists spew from my own experiences.

@@tanagunda1368 im sorry, but no. those people weren't healed by prayer. correlation does not equal causation. just because someone had a lot of prayers said for them and they got better afterwards doesn't mean that the prayers are what did it. it means that either their body had a weird thing happen which seriously actually magically made them better (which DOES happen), they took medication, they lied about getting better, or their issues were psychosomatic in the first place because they were genuinely convinced prayers could make them better. if prayer could really truly heal people with serious illnesses it would mean that prayers are somehow scientific. and REAL science should be replicable and consistent. this is how we know what is fact and what is not. im not christian, but i am HIGHLY spiritual, and i PERSONALLY believe my deities can do the impossible, but that doesn't make it true.

@@fishtick I was actually talking about the ones that got healed there and then, honestly I highly doubt that thousands of people are lying about being healed, to gain what? People are skeptical and a good number of them probably are.. there have been classes of people in coma being prayed and waking up, people with late stage cancer being healed, some who even gave up on medication... most people turn to prayer when medication has failed then I hope you know that. No one will go to church to pray away a headache when they can just take a panado and they are good.. if they had weird stuff in their bodies I’m pretty sure scientists would have picked all that up...you seem to forget that science and religion also contradict each other so they will never accept that people can be healed by such because it basically makes a lot of their work invalid, from how the earth was formed to how people came to be...and also you can’t replicate blessings I hope you know that, a good number of people were blessed by God with the power to heal, but it’s not something that can be replicated by machines, you can’t measure faith....if you believe your Gods can do the impossible then why can’t mine? being skeptical is okay it’s your choice, a lot of the times people always want and explanation paired with the event or happening, so without there being an explanation or a physical manifestation of some kind they won’t believe it’s true...but one thing I’ve learnt is just because there isn’t an explanation for something doesn’t mean it’s not real.

And they so easily forget that Jesus was poor and spent time with those who lived in poverty. Yet “it’s demonic and stinks when you drive through it”. Hey maybe stop a while and help out some, you know like Jesus? On your way to your clean smelling money! Seriously when you read the Bible Jesus actively detested wealthy people showing off. And he would raise up the poor in their presence and then scold them when they acted appalled and shocked that he touched them or interacted with them. Just as those two were acting - appalled at the poor. It goes to show that people are the same now as they were back then. My question is how do they not realize what they are? I’m not necessarily a Christian but I’ve read it and it’s RIGHT THERE. They definitely give Christianity a bad name. They also give humans a bad name. They give rich people a bad name. But let’s donate to people who drive THROUGH poverty, and not TO poverty.

Haha. My dad spoke at Robert Tilton's church in the 80's during his weeks long "revival". I remember our congregation watching him from a big screen TV via satellite dish. 😂 When Tilton started getting exposed on national TV, the head of a specific Christian watchdog organization was at the forefront, and he made his concerns "viral" in a brilliant way. He started making videos called, "The Farting Preacher", to mock the guy with comedy and show other Christians how ridiculous he actually was. When my brother and I found them on KZread, we showed our dad and cackled hysterically until dad realized it was Robert Tilton and told us we were not to "touch the Lord's anointed" and that the only unforgivable sin was blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, who was clearly responsible for Tilton's miraculous signs and wonders. That's when my brother and I actually felt a little sorry for him. Even after all those years, he was still too proud to admit he got taken for a ride and thought it was an act of God. And we got the same reaction when we tried to show him a video exposing Kenneth Copeland, who was also a major Christian "idol" of his growing up. (Now, quick, go look up the "Farting Preacher" and relive a glorious piece of my childhood. 😂)

this video haunts me for real. a lots of korean churches exactly copied what this televangelist doing. actually prosperity gospel is easily can found in korean church. they also have a 'university gospel' for pearents who aim their kids to go prestigious uni. i had a korean friend who sent me the video of american televangelist and telling me this will help me from my depression. when i first word 'televanglist' i was so skeptical and asked what this is and she said it's a preacher that is chosen from god. she wasn't from poor background, she didn't even goto cult church either, just regular church that easily can seen in Seoul. and lots of korean church are considered as pro-USA are believing anti VAXX and protesting for right-wing propaganda. not only by that, christian in korea came to Buddhist temple and destroy the ancient temple for no reason. this non-sense cult christianity need to be removed from my country. and starting from this point of view, I am seriously frustrated from watching this videos, because it really reminds of some people who is in deeply in christian with weird hopes (not saying christians are bad) and came up to me said the things that are on this video. hopefully i am not chrisitan anymore, and happy that i don't need to get surrounded by these people. and i am not saying all chrisitian are bad, but if you are in korea it's so risky to be chrisitan. like so many cult-chrisitan church is existing.

As someone who has lived below the poverty line my entire life, I've known many people who dont have two pennies to rub together, yet they still would give money to the preachers on TV. I remember a wonderful older lady I rented a room from when I first moved to a new city, she would give money to Kenneth Copeland Ministries instead of saving any extra she had. She felt like Copeland was such a large person doing gods work, that her money would go on to help him do such "great" work - therefore god would surely reward her for investing in such "great" work. It broke my heart to see her so enamored by this guy on the television. I can't even begin to fathom how many people sitting below the poverty line are giving him any extra money they have, believing him that as long as they give him money and be godly, they'll be given back "100 fold"

When I was 16 I went to the Willow Creek Community Church back when it was meeting in a movie theater. The pastor, Bill Hybels ( who later got in trouble for sexually harassing women) really played us. Most of the congregation were very young. One time he told us, in a very excited voice that he had been to this wonderful healing service and had seen amputees get new limbs. Afterwards, he ended up with a crowd of people around him who had friends or family members who were seriously I'll or disabled. They asked him where this wonderful church was so they could go to it. I guess he found himself caught in a lie, because suddenly he felt God didn't want him to reveal the location for some reason. And we kids, because most of us were High School or College students, just bought the excuse! Another time they had a fundraiser to build what would later become their Megachurch. He was asking these kids who were still in Highschool to donate. He actually said "Twenty dollars may make a difference in where you spend eternity". I was disgusted and stopped going, and many years later I read that they had become a Megachurch, and Hybels was in the middle of a scandal.

How about the Quran because most of the books in it are in the Catholic version. And the Jewish faith there books are even older. And then there are the hundreds of writings that didn't make it into any of these stories. And what about the woman's stories? If we are to believe the stories there were at least 3 very important women no one has heard from. Mary his mother, Martha sister of Lazarus and Mary of Magdalena? Give me a list of where to start.

Questioning and being critical thinkers is important, I'm passionate about my Christian faith and I was raised in it, but I was always encouraged to think for myself and not just follow blindly with what any religious leader tells me. I was told to look up what they said and study for myself.. That allowed me to luckily see people like this for what they were even when I was a preteen, and when parts of the bible were being taken completely out of context or even misrepresented to suit a "prosperity" narrative... These people need to be stopped.

He has NEVER touched any of the church’s money. He’s never counted it, or handled it at all. That’s the church treasurer’s job. He doesn’t do what he does for money. Not even hardly. In fact, when the virus hit...he VOLUNTARILY gave up his paycheck for months, so the church could pay the bills. To make sure we were able to open the church doors, once we were allowed to congregate again. He is truly selfless, and does what he does for no other reason, than his love for God and God’s people. As the pastor’s granddaughter, I was mortified at the thought of walking into church at the age of 17...pregnant, and unmarried. I thought my “mistake” was going to cause my Grandfather to have to step down as pastor of the church. To my surprise and relief, everyone welcomed me with open arms. They supported me and uplifted me. They hosted me a baby shower, and showed me love. Even though my son is now almost 13 and I’ve been married for 10 years, and have other children as well...I will never forget the kindness and love that my church showed me, in the scariest time of my life. ❤️

After having to be in that messed up healing world for 19 years of my life, I have been able to break free from it, and I one hundred percent believe that people like this should be shamed and brought down. They take advantage of people who are vulnerable and they are blatant liars. The fact that they make money off this makes them despicable... I spent way too many years thinking there was something wrong with me, that it wasn't OK to be me, and then wondering why I wasn't healed and that it had to be my fault. I no longer believe in healing, and my focus is on living my life to the best of my abilities and accepting who I am. I certainly hope men like this get what's coming to them for all the mental turmoil they cause people like me. They are monsters and I can't believe some of them still have the following they do. I only hope that those people will wake up just like I did and realize they don't need them to be happy. Accept what is, let go of what cannot be…

I suggest that you just pray to God asking Jesus name for him to reveal himself personally to you he is able to heal. Jesus did it back when he was here on the earth and he did tell everyone that was following him you will be able to do these things and more because I go to my father and then he says he's going to be sending them the Holy Spirit or I think it says the helper, to be your counselor your helper something along those lines. Now that I'm a grown up I recognize how DESPERATELY UNCOMFORTABLE I was then and still am with these folks. Eep.

God said to not touch His anointed. Having said that, I feel it's safe to say, I don't believe he's under GODS anointing. He is a repulsive charlatan that his behavior is bizzare and damages the reputation of true anointed men and women of God. His punishment will be great. The people that might have been lost, seeing the outrageous excesses, turning them away from JESUS. He is truly an exceptionally despicable human being.

This is so bizarre to me, all this prosperity gospel... Granted, I am from a very different religious background, and I no longer go to church, but it immediately seems contradictory to the Christian teachings... rich people and camel and all that... it just doesn't compute to me. Where I live, you would pay for candles to put before icons and for names of loved ones to be mentioned during the service, but that's it. And we had that 'put your hand on the tv screen' stunt - though not done by televangelists, there were some type of 'energy healers' - where the economy was in deep sh*t (connecting the dots?), but then it went away, as people's finances and confidence about the future improved.

This IS American Christianity though. A majority of American Christians believe this teaching of the bible and therefore it becomes part of christian doctrine. The christian faith has always been what those who teach it interpret it as. Christian capitalism is here to stay and speaks volumes about the society that believes it.

@@dengar96 these teaches aren’t in the Bible and they’re not Biblical and also American Christianity isn’t Biblical. And it’s not Christianity. American Christianity is rooted in racism and capitalism. If you read the Bible you would know that God detest everything that the American Church and Christianity is doing. Americaness has nothing to do with Christianity, it’s not the same thing. American culture and patriotism isn’t Biblical or Christianity.
