Reacting to Pick Up Artist Course on "How to Text Women"... (it gets weird)

Today we are examining the Russell Hartley texting course to find out what those buying the course are being taught, as well as whether or not the course is a scam... this is the first time I dive into a "guru course" on KZread to see what the course itself teaches. I hope this will be a fascinating look into what men like Russell think and teach, and what these guru courses are actually like!

The saddest part of it is... I know females that have gone home with men just like this guy. You might hate him, but there are millions of men just like him who get laid more in one week than average guys get laid in a whole year. I find that hypocricy strange from the females side.

@@BillClinton228 There's at least 3 billion women on the planet. Of course there will be women who would like quick sex or one night stands, who would like scumbags or play with people like Russell (sex addicts, nymphos, playas, etc.) Its all good as long as its consensual and neither party is expecting anything other than sex. But this kind of course, apart from the rampant misogyny, isnt gonna work for the typical victim of Russell's: desperate, lonely incels and people looking for long-term connections. The manipulation aspect pretty much guarantees no girl picked up by an guy using this will stay long, if at all.

what he said about women being flakey is disgusting in my opinion. I flake on dudes sometimes bc of my anxiety and the fear of something happening to me. especially if they are pushy, cocky and creepy like this guy. I really think the info he is spreading is dangerous.. I feel like this could potentially motivate men to force themselves onto women thinking that they "don't know" what they're feeling or how to react, and being persistent as well, ignoring disinterest. really hope this doesn't happen but that's what I think about. reminds me of men that flirt with you and then cuss you out the next minute bc ur not interested. toxic alpha male energy.

About ten years ago a male co-worker of mine shared something he'd learned in college: how to get a chick to chase you. You first give her lots of attention and compliments, then take it away. Ignore her when you walk by her. Then she'll come running wondering what she did and what's wrong. I'm not the type to chase anyway if I'm not getting any feedback, but I totally noticed this guy using the same tactic on me. These are the kinds of things that abusers do. They treat their victim so well in the beginning, then the victim keeps thinking the abuser can go back to being all amazing so they stick with it. Gross mind games.

Thank you so much for making these videos! As a guy who binged on this type of content for years and wondered why I had issues getting a girlfriend I was so arrogant in my thinking that I never looked for a woman’s perspective on this type of content and how demeaning it is towards women. Also, I’m the classic socially awkward dude, good at math but I’d to hide it by acting stupid and had to be the stereotypical ‘hood’ type guy witch never worked and people could see right through me. I thought “biologically they have no choice but to submit to my alpha traits” when I use the (psychopathic) tactics they tell you to use. I think there is a hidden agenda for young guys and socially slow guys like myself to keep us watching this type of content, use their information that doesn’t work and then buy their course, book etc...I think there is a crossroads for guys who spend most of their life on the internet where the loneliness is so intense that you either leave the internet and seek relationships with real people or you dive deeper into one of these echo chambers. It took a long time for me to listen to women’s perspectives on life in general and y’all have it rough, my sister who is my best friend knows i was into this stuff and it breaks my heart that I felt this way about women for so long, sometimes I burst into tears thinking about it. But please keep producing this content and helping people steer clear of these types of people and helping some dudes figure out these dating gurus are full of shit. Sorry for the essay, if you made it this far thanks!

I think the most underestimated resource to help lonely men is: female friends. I don't mean as potential love interests, I mean as literal friends. It helps to get comfortable interacting with women without the pressure of having to win them over. It's not going to be a "find a girlfriend in 48 days" sort of result, but there are so many benefits beyond romance. Also: we talk up our male friends. I'm serious, one of the coolest guys I ever knew was really self conscious because he was balding and a little awkward. All of the women in his circle knew he liked one of our mutual friends. We always talked him up to her whenever we could, because really, despite the awkwardness he has a loooooong list of positive traits (and is an amazing chef!). We knew personality wise they would mesh well so we made sure he had every opportunity to shine when we could get them together. They're married now! Girls come in clutch the way male friends (or really misogynistic texting courses) can't.

I remember I read once an article talking about the epidemic of loneliness among men at a certain age and older and I can't say I feel sorry for them. After all, if you can't create significant friendships with other men because you don't know how to express your feelings in front of them and you can't creat significant friendships with women because you spend your youth trying to fuck them, where do you think all that is going to take you? Of course you're going to end up lonely and miserable.

Everything about this tells me that he’s extremely insecure around intelligent and successful women. It’s why he goes after younger girls and goes after women he deems less intelligent than him. I feel like a woman called him out for being a little dumb on a date, or a little boring, or a little needy, and he took it personally.

Ladies a tip for you. This kind of guy is looking for some very specific things in the women he goes after publicly. She will be younger or much younger looking, will avoid people (especially crowds), and will not meet another person's eyes in a conversation. She will tend to look at the ground while walking, will display nervous ticks/patterns when directly spoken to and will be very quiet to what most mistake as shy but the reason goes deeper then shy. He is looking for signs of trauma, or what assholes like him call "damaged goods" and low, self esteem or in a perfect world (for him) both combined. If that sounds strange well they are referred to as predators not helpful dudes for a reason. Low self esteem is the best friend to this type of "man" and they love to/are extremely good at weaponizing yours against you. Remember the signs for the pick up artist like him. The long term ones that will keep a girl around for a while have signs too. Watch for love bombing, then attempting to get them financially dependent on them, then separating you from your support network such as family/friends, and finally doing a 180 on the love and switching to cruelty to break you down and make you believe you can not do better than them and they are doing you a favor. If you are in the first one you have met a douche that wants to get you in bed then dip and if you are going through the second then you have met a narcissist that will ruin your life.

First comment on point, that shit is scary. About the make up stuff tho: no hate, but I'd rather she didn't, at least not on this channel. There are enough female make up channels. I can actually get a little annoyed when every female youtuber is asked to give make up/beauty advice, or puts out these kind of random beauty videos even though it doesn't match their usual content. You would never expect something like that from a guy. It again puts emphasis on women's appearance as opposed to what they have to say. I enjoy watching Madeleine's content and I didn't subscribe to watch make up tutorials. I also want you to know that not being great at make up or not always looking flawless is ok ❤️ Women on social media often put a lot of effort into their make up but wearing a full face is so normalized that is seems effortless and can make you feel inadequate and never pretty enough. The part you don't see is that they don't always walk around with a full face of course. As discussed in some of Madeleine's other vids, it's important to remember it's an industry. You probably know all this but sometimes it's good to be remembered of it. Only saying this because these are feelings I have had as well, and a lot of women have them. (personally, I stopped wearing make up at some point, I feel better/love myself without and it saves time+money. Ofc it's your own choice 😊 but I do think a lot of women feel pressured.)

There’s no one trick or one thing you can say that will make ANYONE fall at your feet, it just doesn’t work like that at all. They act like it’s an on-off switch and if you just say or do the right thing, you can change their mind. Someone’s either attracted to you or they’re not. That can change, but it happens with TIME and other circumstances, not some random phrase or action. Also, I can’t speak for all women, but essentially being told that I’m disposable and merely one prospect out of thousands isn’t exactly a turn-on.

He's very lazily attempting a manipulation tactic called "Negging and reframing". Generally, it is a longer con of shattering a woman completely, breaking every ounce of self-esteem she has, and then rebuilding her bit by bit in the image you want, peppering additional wounds to "make sure she doesn't get too uppity", It usually doesn't work in the short term, unless you're attacking a woman who has very low self-esteem already. In those cases, the generic scenario would be to find a woman and pick out her "pain points" (IE: Is she trying to sit up straighter around other people, is she picking at her food, is she drinking diet. etc. Anything that can show insecurity), and then subtly needle those pain points to get the desired broken response. For example, if he approached a woman he perceived was insecure about her weight, it would go similar to "Hey! I'm normally not into chubby women, but you're kinda cute for your size", emphasis her weight and how she is alone, intimate she is alone because people aren't normally attracted to people like her, and then swoop in with the "But I see the good in you, despite it all" responses. Break her down, make her feel unwanted, then act like you're putting yourself out to settle for someone like her. It's disgusting, and luckily, most men aren't smart enough to think on their feet to be manipulative cunts that directly, and those that _are_ smart enough, generally have more humanity. I highly recommend reading The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists. There are actually local chapters of "PUA Charters" (Pick Up Artist), they have groups on Meet-Up and other social media platforms, and that is their whole gig. Just finding women, trying to tear them down, use them, and move on. I'm sure you've heard of Julien Blanc? The asshole who was effectively removed and banned from Japan for trying to teach his devotees how to sexually assault Japanese women. (The culture in Japan is very different than America. It's very communal, but at the same time "Keep your head down and mind your own business, don't disturb anyone" is an unspoken motto. Japanese people tend to try to be agreeable, especially in public, and generally try to not make a scene. He tried to take advantage of that. His lesson to his devotees was "grab her by the back of the head and push her head down towards your dick. If she tries to resist, scream PIKACHU PIKACHU or some other shit in her face! It will cause her to freeze and become confused, and comply when you continue to push her head down in order to get you to stop yelling." He even posted videos of him doing just that, and you could see the terror on the women's faces.) He even had an old blog where he posted stupid shit like "I like my women like I like my eggs; Broken and scrambled" I'm a confident woman now, but that wasn't always the case. I luckily never fell for any of the PUA BS, but I saw it often in the city I grew up in, which is why I began researching it and recommending that book to anyone and everyone. It's fucked up, to say the least, and the fact that this russel basily/hartly dickweed is trying to normalize it and bring it to more mainstream platforms pisses me off.

I send you so much love as you are such a strong woman to take care of your family without help, I hope so when people offer help that you except it because you shouldn’t have to do everything alone. We should all be stepping up more to help our society grow healthier if you ask me. I hope you have a beautiful day because you take the time to realize that there is Just as much beauty in this world as there is darkness, the world is always trying to find its balance.

In his “playful teasing” section at the end of the preview i was just like wtf.. this makes absolutely no sense and also sounds like one of the most boring conversations ever. His texting reminds me of the most absolutely boring guys i would text for a few days and then realize they were just too bland to even waste time on. So i just don’t understand why he used that as some lesson about texting. I guess it was just because he wanted to show how boring he can be and still (supposedly) get a girl to send a picture to him and act interested. Theres almost no chance she sent that picture where it seems to be in the conversation (if its even a real conversation). And if it was a real conversation and she did send it then hey Russell, maybe she had already decided right from the beginning that she wanted to hook up with you so she didnt want to waste any time having to talk to your bland ass. Ya know, girls want sex too, shocker, you dont have to act like you are always tricking them into it. Im just so tired of this narrative about basically tricking girls into wanting to have sex when most girls i know are just as interested in sex as any many. Its just that, unlike some men, women dont use the having/not having of sex as a personality trait.

Yes! This. If a woman just wants to sleep around, she'll make it known from the beginning. There might be a person or two who'll treat it like a game too and there are women who are not sure what they want but generally speaking, they don't even need to try hard to find a woman to sleep with.

And I think that shit shocks men like him like they can’t comprehend that. I wouldn’t be surprised if he purposefully gets the type of women that are jealous and attached because he likes women that fight over him or obsess over him so he can say women are crazy. the tough part about being single is cleaning up and cooking. I think the society forces people to be around people. It also promotes "regular" sex and image of "alfa-male" as man in "relationship". And it's sad that young men spend sh*t ton of money on these "proper dating/texting" courses instead of self analysis and self education. They could spend it on music or painting courses and meet real women there.

@ Speaking as someone who has been in a long term romantic relationship, almost five years now. Your insecurities will not dissipate when you get a girlfriend. In fact they have a much higher chance of making the relationship very difficult to be healthy. You're better off forming a solid friendship relationship and working up to a romantic one as you work on your own insecurities. Romance is not a magic fix. Romance is _hard_ And having a good healthy relationship, especially romantic ones, demands a lot of work from both parties. Anyone entering a romantic relationship thinking its going to help fix them is on a fast train to a breakup.

  • 3 жыл бұрын

ElvinGearMaster Irma Well I agree for the most part. The last part of your sentence is something I tried to emphasize in my comment, that being that seeking a relationship for validation is not the right mindset to enter one with. I’m also well aware that ones insecurities could effect a relationship if they aren’t properly overcome/dealt with. Trust me I get that. I was more just trying to say I think it can work both ways. Just because anecdotally people have told me their relationships have helped them emotionally. People have told me that’s a solution for me as well and I don’t agree with them personally cause I know I have mental issues that I have to get in check. On the other hand I think a relationship that happens naturally (which doesn’t necessarily have to involve being friends first imo) can be “healing” if it’s a healthy one with good dynamics. I also realize that for me more experience in that regard could alleviate some insecurities, mostly the physical ones. But also if things on an emotional level felt genuine than that could also be healing for me if I felt the love and all that and reciprocated it. Because a lot of my mental health issues stem from not feeling those things genuinely so if I did than that would be therapeutic. I’m wasn’t or am now though, trying to say that that’s what I’m looking toward for my personal healing. I am in therapy and other shit though and if I happen to get into a relationship or feel the passion to pursue one I’m defiantly gonna go for it because that’s a hell of a lot healthier than avoiding intimacy and isolating myself

This whole course also weirdly blames men for not being able to hold a conversation w women, but also blames it on women for being “flakey”... which one is it Russel my dude? And like you said, it fools men into believing that there’s something else to a woman’s cold shoulder, so they won’t accept silence for an answer and will keep on bugging the ladies. The testimonials at the end, I'm not gonna claim they're fake without any proof, but what I can say is that they're more of a testimonial of how the placebo effect works more than the course itself. From what I've seen Russell is not a good teacher he doesn't know how to explain any of the concepts he's introducing. He's just saying I did this, that and that. He's not even giving his "students" a plan of action just generalizations to very specific scenarios, that they may or may not encounter. Here's what's happening: they've seen his tic toks, they've seen how he portrays himself, and then they say "I wanna be like that". So they buy the course and within the first minute of the video they're convinced they have the secret formula. So they go out there and actually talk to women and whether they actually manage to hold a conversation, they feel that the course is working. But in reality it's just that they've gained confidence
